**Inspector**
I abandoned everything I was working on. Tons of case files left for another day. The only thing having my interest at the very moment is this murder case. My interested was piqued. I have never, ever been thus intrigued in my life.
I'll start by analyzing the bullet casing. Once I get the names, I can narrow the search down and nail the bastard. Maybe then I'll finally be at peace. Multilizing a fellow human's body was just inhumane. Heartless. Once I'm done,Mr John finds peace wherever he is.
My patience was running out, I needed the names now. My thoughts were whirling and I have to do something fast.
Like the office heard my thoughts, she carefully placed a piece of paper on my desk.
I lifted it up and it had four names boldly written.
"Ava Max. Recently became Ava Mitch."
"Stephenie Smith."
"Annabelle Sinclair."
"Fallon Mitch."
"Great work officer. Now what do we know about these names. No long story,I just want key details that might help the investigation."
"Okay Sir, get this. That reoccurring number belonged to the second to the last person."
"Great job. We know Ava Max is a model who allegedly stole Miss Smith's boyfriend. Motive right?"
I stood up to my wall and traced a tape between the two of them. That's one piece of the puzzle solved.
"What I don't get is how she is connected."
I tore her name from the paper placing it on a giant question mark. Annabelle Sinclair. She's a mystery on her own. No information leading up to what might be useful.
"Wait a minute inspector. Remember I told you about that other woman Fallon Mitch was seeing. Well get this, a picture was taken and uploaded and I think I saved it. It's right...."
She trailed off unlocking her phone presenting me with a picture of a woman. I went to our trusty friend Google and it was an exact match.
"Three women, one man. I think I know exactly what's going on here. I also might have a theory for Mr John's death."
"Alright. What is it?"
"He was either killed by Annabelle Sinclair or Stephenie Smith. They both have the notice for doing it. Then again, the only picture Mr John has on his phone was off Miss Smith. It could mean anything which is why I won't jump into conclusions. I'll do the only logical thing. Go see the third party. The one who for now seems to be innocent. I'm hoping and praying she'll be of help. Get a swat team ready, we're going to pay a little visit to Mrs Mitch. Ava Mitch."
I completed, she nodded running off to do my bidding.
**Annabelle**
Stephanie gives the word crazy a whole new and original defination.
Who in their right mind could make a choice between the man who was her first love, betrayed her yet saved her life or the woman who was her friend, did and said terrible things but above all is carrying an innocent child in her womb.
"Clock's ticking. Ten minutes and they both die. Should we finger pick or close our eyes and see which one it lands on so should I do it for you so your conscience wouldn't get tainted."
"You're despicable. A monster."
"Actually, I'm not. You paint me all black yet am going you all favour. Oh come on Annabelle, stop this sick lie of hating Fallon, wanting him dead. Never laying eyes on him. Your heart literally shattered when you thought he died just moments ago. A fucking blind person would clearly see that you're in love with him."
She spat out leaving me stunned.
"I don't love him."
I countered taking a sharp intake of breath.
"Great! Choose Ava then. I'm sure you'll be elated to tell her how you killed the father of her unborn child and her husband just to save her. Stop acting all self righteous when you're not, give in to the temptation that you so badly desire. Pick the man you love and clear out any other obstruction." She placed her hand on her chin dramatically.
The only sound heard was my breathing. She moved around making sure I heard every word carefully. My heart skipped a beat.
"Come on Annabelle. We can do this in the form of secret sharing if you want. I swear it to you, I'll never tell. Just give in."
"Leave me alone!"
I shrieked.
"You want him. Fallon. You still love him, deny it all you want but your heart yearns for him. It's killing you that he belongs to another woman so take this one time opportunity, do it. Do it. Do it!"
I screamed making me jump.
"The foetus is barely five months. You can easily replace it with your very own Fallon junior. I'll even throw in a painless death for Ava. Much better than what I had in store for her crimes but I can be flexible. Just say the words, don't stall. Don't try to fight your inner self. Just say the words Anna."
"Leave alone."
I broke down in sobs but she continued torturing me.
"Come on Annabelle. You know you want to. Admit it, come on. I'm not blind neither am I stupid. Feelings like that don't just go away. A spark is still there. I am a hundred percent certain your choice would soon be..."
"Fallon."
I mouthed in despair completing her statement.
"Fallon, I choose Fallon."
"Excellent choice."
She commented with a vicious smirk.
