CHAPTER 16
Adam escorts Alex to his office. He picks up his cell phone and call’s Jeremy.
“Is Eric with you?” Adam said with a worried tune to his voice.
“Ya, he’s right here. What’s up?” Jeremy asked.
Eric grabbed the phone.
“What's going on?”
“I can’t sense Ala.” Eric said nervously.
“She’s missing. Alex came back without her.” Adam told him.
“WHAT? I’m on my way.”
Jeremy and Eric ran to Jeremy’s car and sped out, heading in the direction of the packhouse.
Jeremy is driving like a bat out of hell when a dark SUV pulled out infront of him.
Trying to maintain control of the car, they went skidding off the road.
Three men jumped out of the SUV and ran up to Eric’s side of the door.
Trying to pull Eric out of the car. One was yelling,” GET THE SYRINGE! NOW!”
Before Eric could be injected. HE SHIFTED!!
Two of the other guys shifted as well. “GET HIM!” The one in human form yelled.
Jeremy shifted just as fast.
Eric being an Alpha, is twice the size of a regular wolf, and twice as strong.
The one human ran back to the SUV and took off while Eric took out both the wolf's throat.
“Let's catch that prick.” Jeremy yelled while climbing into his car.
Jeremy reversed out of the ditch and sponout trying to catch up with the SUV.
The driver threw something from the driver's window.
Jeremy lost control of the car for the second time. “ DAMN IT !” He yelled.
When he heard the front right tire pop.
They both look at each other and then around them.
Eric nodded at Jeremy without saying a word.
When the car came to a stop, They shifted and started running.
Staying in the tree line so they wouldn't be seen.
They headed to the pack house.. The SUV was long gone.
Hurrying, they made it there in record time.
Running up the stairs and shifting to open the door.
They were met with eight trackers, Alex, Adam,Connor and Eric’s dad, Kenon.
“WHERE IS SHE?” Eric yelled.
Everyone knew he was livid, and turned to look at him.
Alex was in tears, sitting in a chair close to Adam.
Adam spoke first.
“She was abducted at the mall.
Adam turns to Mikah, “Take three trackers and go to Earthbound.
“Talk to the employees.”
“You two!” Eric turned to two more trackers.
“Search the parking lot.”
“Report back your findings. I’ll have my cell on me at all times.
“NOW HURRY!!!”
“YES ALPHA!” They said in unison.
Eric is pacing the room.“How did this happen?” He turned to Alex.
“I wanted to go to another store”, and she said she would be there in a few minutes.”
“When she didn't show, I went back to the store I left her at.”
“But, she wasn't there.”
“ The employees looked out of sorts and she was nowhere in sight.”
“I checked the other stores, But no one had seen her.”
“I should have never left her.” Alex sobbed.
Forty minutes later Adam got a call ..
After a few minutes Adam said “keep sniffing around.” There has to be more.”
“Question everyone at that store.”
When Adam hung up the phone, he turned to Eric and jeremy.
“The trackers found a vilve of sleeping dust.”
“The employees didnt know what it was and being stupid humans sniffed the bottle and then past it around.”
“In a matter of a few minutes they were out cold.” Adam told them.
“FUCK!!” Jeremy said.
“There's more.” Adam said.
“They also found a syringe at the back of the store.”
“I believe that's where they abducted her.”
“Her smell is in the back room.
Either they put her in a box or took her out the back door.”
“Mikah is on his way back with the syringe.
Call the lab and tell them to be ready.”
When Mikah arrived, He handed over the syringe to the pack doctor.
The doctor had a very sensitive nose, and could smell the wolfsbane.
Well, the doctor began. “I know there's wolfbane, and something else.
“I’ll need to analyze it to be sure.” The doctor left without another word.
