Dark Deception Chapter 28

Jack's pov: Around six am, I got up bright and early! My head was busy replaying the events of last night. I was able to feel the warmth of Olivia once again when I hugged her. I could not get her out of my head, but it felt impossible. I shook my head and went ahead to pack my suitcase as we had our flight back to LA in the afternoon. I could not believe it was the finally the day that this rollercoaster of a vacation was over! I did enjoy it a lot though despite the bumps on the road. As I was folding some clothes and tucking them neatly in the suitcase, I started thinking more of last night. Last night, when I dropped off Olivia at her room. She seemed so sad and depressed. It seemed like all her energy was drained right out of her and her face was all covered in many stains of tears. What happened when I went to take the call at the beach? Why was she crying? It was so strange, and I just could not put my finger on the situation. I knew it was very sensitive though. But now I knew one thing for sure! Olivia must not be sad anymore. I could not allow that. I just could not. I had to make sure of it! Seeing her cry anymore was a lot to take in for me. But how could I do that? Sam's impact on her has been huge like her entire life had been crumbling ever since he ditched her, and I doubted that she would move on from it anytime soon. The situation was so complex that my head hurt just thinking about it. I can think about it later but what was important for me at that moment was to get ready and reach the lobby before the bus leaves without me! I looked at the clock which was ticking fast and realized that I was getting pretty late! I hurried up and rushed the packing process and headed straight to the bathroom to take a shower. While I was unbuttoning my shirt, I realized how much I would miss Australia. It was a beautiful place to be. Everything here was pretty cool. Although we were here only for a few days, it was still an amazing journey and I would cherish it for a long time. I would not say it was very peaceful since Olivia kept me on my toes but regardless, I had an amazing time. It approached ten o'clock and we had to assemble in the lobby soon, so I pulled up my socks, tightened my shoes laces and gave a final goodbye to my cozy room before locking it. As I was walking down a staircase en route to the lobby, a cool breeze from the ocean blew on my face making me so refreshed from the hot summer heat. As I was getting a last look of the resort, I saw Olivia in the opposite direction looking super beautiful in her outfit. It was a sight to see. I could not help myself but just look at her for a moment before realizing that I looked like somewhat of a creep doing so. I turned the other way around and snapped a picture of the morning look of the ocean. I met up with Sam and Jessica at the lobby and gave them a huge smile. Seeing my two best friends in the world made me so happy! I was so happy that they listened to me the entire trip! Even though I was smiling, it was evident that Sam was not in the best of moods and I wondered if it was because of me and Olivia. I knew my restrictions caused a lot of discomfort to them, but I could not help it. I just could not allow Sam and Jessica spending any more time with Olivia. Whenever they would do so, a sharp rage of jealousy filled me, and I could not take it. It hurt every bit of me to see that happen! Whether it was during the collab, party or even in the flight! It made me mad! Extremely mad! On one note though, Ruby's and Erica's plans helped me achieve the distance I wanted between Sam and Olivia. They were so far apart from each other that the both of them could not even have a decent conversation even if they wanted to! I was thankful for Ruby for helping me plan all of that after she met me in the café last time! Without her and Erica, I would not have been able to do what I did! Speaking of the devil, Erica arrived all decked up in front of the lobby with her suitcases being carried by Ruby who seemed like struggling by carrying Erica's huge bag of clothes and accessories! She stood in front of everyone and gave her boring speeches and announcements as usual as we waited for the bus to arrive before leaving for the airport. The staff were amazing and handed over a lovely goodbye card to each one of us, thanking us for staying at their resort. When the flight took off, it was a bittersweet moment for me. Australia was the only place where I got to spend a lot of time with Olivia. Now that we were going back to LA, I had to ensure I would do the same at Vidcon. I could not bear to be away from her for long. My head was spinning from all the frustration building up in me! At least this time, Olivia was going to have a peaceful flight for once away from us! As she was spared an awkward flight as was seated in a seat far away from us. The flight went smoothly with nothing eventful happening. I just slept through it peacefully! As the plane touched LA, I headed to the baggage belt to retrieve my suitcase. After successfully retrieving my suitcase, while heading towards the exit of the airport with my trolley rolling its wheels alongside of me. At that very moment, I was taken by surprise quite literally when someone had gripped my hand and pulled me to a corner. I was so confused! What even was happening?! Thinking it was a kidnapper, I was about to fight back! I gripped the person's hand and realized it belonged to a girl! I turned my head behind and that was when I saw it was just Nikita and Erica standing afraid. They were so afraid as my fist was right in front of their face. I lowered my raised fist and asked them what they were doing. Nikita looked at the sides of the room with the help of the corner of her eyes to ensure no one was present or eavesdropping on us. She was acting very strange. Once she confirmed that the coast was clear, she leaned in, giving a very evil smirk and began to whisper a concerning statement, "We need to end Olivia once and for all!" I was shocked to hear what I just heard. I asked her to repeat herself to make sure I was not hallucinating things. And for sure, I was not! "Do you m-mean kill?" I asked out of fear. A drop of sweat dripped at the side of my face while I waited for their response. This time, instead of Nikita, Erica stepped ahead and whispered, "Of course! What else?" The both of them gave each other a high five, while I stood there in horror. Were they serious? I mean they always stood by whatever they said so they had to be serious. And no doubt that their hatred for Olivia would lead them to taking extreme steps. My heart ached at the thought of them murdering Olivia! I couldn't let that happen. I wanted to slam them hard for even thinking about doing this but as much as I hated them, I couldn't bring myself to do so. I still needed their assistance to separate Sam and Olivia. They were a huge aid in my act, and I couldn't lose them. My fears spiked rapidly when I saw a sly smile dominating their faces. Their hate and despair for Olivia was very evident in their eyes and that scared me even more. I was sure that they were not going to hold back. "No!" I firmly said to which they glanced at me, shocked. "What do you mean by no?" Erica asked angrily. "You will not kill Olivia!" I said it out clearly but at a lower volume for obvious reasons. "Why? Don't you want this too? That brat is nothing but trouble!" Nikita added in support for Erica. I swiped my arm across my forehead to get rid of the sweat droplets that were trickling down my face. "No, I do not want this!" I continued, asserting my views. "What do you mean?" Erica asked in confusion with one eyebrow raised. And without thinking, without grasping or understanding my words, I said this.... "I mean I love Olivia."
