"Date!?" Axel exclaims. "You went on a date with Theo while I was gone?! Wow, I guess you were really worried about me, huh?«
I roll my eyes. "It wasn't a date, we're just two friends who went out to have some fun."
"To have some fun? How do I know that doesn't that translate into you sucking his dick?!" Axel yells and throws his hands in the air.
I glare at him. "No, we didn't kiss, we didn't do anything, I just hugged him. Besides, you have absolutely no reason to be mad at me." I say and he lifts his brows.
"I don't?" he asks.
"Nope, last time I checked Theo is just a friend, and I'm single." I shoot back and he purses his lips and crosses his arms over his chest, fuming.
"You're gonna throw that in my face again? The "being single" shit? It's just a fucking label!" he yells and I stand up.
"It's not just a fucking label, it means self-respect to me!" I yell back, just as angry as he is.
"Why can't we just do things together and stuff, without the fucking title?" Axel asks.
"Why are you so goddamned afraid of a relationship?" I ask back. "Do you want to be free to have other girls as well, is that it?"
"What? No!" Axel yells back. "I just- I just wanna spend time with you, isn't that fucking obvious?"
"Not to me." I say back. "And you're not gonna have me until you decide this is what you really want and face the consequences. And until you explain to me what the hell happened these last three days. I'm not going to be anybody's fuck buddy!" I shout at him and storm past.
I grab the shopping bag downstairs and get out of his house, running home the entire way because I was afraid somebody might come attack me again. When I make it home, I slam the door behind me and try to catch my breath.
"Where the hell were you? I was so worried!" my mum screams and comes from the living room to see me.
"What is that on your cheek?" she asks and comes closer to inspect my cheek.
She gasps. "Oh my god, what happened? Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm okay, mum." I smile. "I fell badly."
She frowns with concern and engulfs me in a hug. "Oh, sweetie, you were always so clumsy."
I chuckle. "Yeah. And then I got lost because I wanted to come home as soon as possible, you know because my cheek and head hurt."
I hated lying and lately I was doing it so often. I couldn't let her know about Axel though, she would tell my dad and he would freak out.
"Here, come with me. I'm going to badage it." she says and pulls on my hand, dragging me towards the kitchen. She pulls out the first aid from the cupboard.
"I'm not sending you to that store anymore. Everytime you go, something happens and I worry sick." she says and softly cleans my wound with a cloth, because she doesn't know it's already cleaned. Then, she covers it with a big plaster.
"There, this should do. Are you hungry?" she asks and I nod.
"Yeah, did you already eat dinner?" I ask mum and she nods.
"Me and dad already finished, yes, but we saved some for you. It's probably still warm." she smiles and I look in the pot to see spaghetti.
"Thank you, mum." I thank her and grab a plate, filling it with food.
"You're welcome, sweetie." she says and kisses my temple.
"Where did you get that necklace?" she asks and I put the plate on the table.
Oh dear, I forgot about it.
"A friend gave it to me." I say, finally telling the truth.
She smiles. "Which friend?"
"Oh, just someone, no one important." I say, shrugging it off. "What happened today in that show of yours?" I ask, changing the topic and thankfully, it works. She goes into full discussion and I pretend like I'm actually interested while I finish my food.
"I'm going to go to my room, okay? I still have something to finish for school."
She nods. "Okay. You don't have to go to school tomorrow if your head will hurt."
I smile and make my way up to my room. "I'm sure it won't be that bad. Good night, mum."
"Good night, sweetie."
I open my door and close them behind me. As quickly as possible, I finish my school work and then change into PJ, going straight to sleep. I'm exhausted so I fall asleep quite easily.
Axel's POV
Just friends.
Just friends my fucking ass.
I glare at the doorway through which she just disappeared and contemplate going after her.
I decide against following her like a fucking puppy and tug on my curls, groaning.
That fucker. Who the fuck does he think he is, trying to steal the only girl I actually feel something for from me?
On the other hand, Sophie can be such a fucking bitch. It drives me nuts, the way she plays with my feelings. Why the fuck would she go out with that dick? Does she like him? Like she likes me?
"Fuck!" I scream and toss the things by the sink on the floor.
I am not going to be a part of a love triangle, fuck no. That's way too fucking dramatic for me.
So, I grab my car keys from my pocket and head downstairs, putting on my jacket and slamming the door behind me.
I'm going to show that fucker not to fucking mess with me. I speed down the road, going over the speed limit, driving the familiar way to my best fucking friend. Getting there in less than five minutes, I slam the car door shut and pull out my phone, calling him.
"What's up, Jarvis?" he answers on the fifth ring.
"Hey, I'm in front of your house. Get your fucking ass down here, I'd like to have a little chat with you."
I spit that in the phone and end the call, waiting for the fucker to emerge.
