Naina's POV
Next morning I woke up and I was surprised to see that it was 10 a.m.
Usually he wakes me up in the morning.
Maybe he has taken a leave for my birthday.
I woke up and went to the hall but he was not in the hall.
“Good morning, Madam,” Daya uncle greeted me.
“Good morning uncle,” I greeted him back
“Ranveer left for office?” I asked.
“Yes, sir went to office without having breakfast,” he told me.
“Okay. Thank you uncle and don’t make breakfast for me,” I told him and went in our room before Uncle could say something.
He never did this.
He always wakes me up and we have breakfast together.
Maybe he has some important meeting.
But he should inform me before leaving, right?
I felt like crying.
I sat on the bed and started crying.
For the first time he left without even waking me up.
What about breakfast and kisses on forehead before leaving?
That was Our thing and he broke it so easily.
Yes.
I got it now.
I wiped my tears.
Maybe he is planning a surprise birthday party for me.
Yes.
I went to get ready.
After an hour I was freshened up and was waiting for his call.
Should I call him ?
What if he is busy in the office?
I waited for his call.
Maybe, my mobile is in silent mode.
I saw the mobile but I was wrong.
It was not in silent mode but in general mode.
Then why didn’t he call me?
Maybe he will give me surprise in the evening but at least he should call me to tell me why he left so early
He should call me to check if I had my breakfast or not?
He also didn’t had breakfast.
Should I call him and ask him if he had anything outside?
I don’t know why but again tears escaped my eyes.
The thing that hurt me the most was that he broke our thing and that too on my birthday.
Even if he has an important work he should have woken me up.
For the last two days he is worried about something.
My mobile rang and I hurriedly picked it up but was disappointed to find that Dad was calling me.
"Hello Naina Happy birthday. Many Many happy returns of the day,” Dad wished.
"Thank you Dad. Dad are you calling me for the past few minutes?" I asked.
"No Naina. This is my first call but why are you asking?" he asked.
"I thought my mobile is unreachable,” I told him.
"Your mobile is not unreachable. Is everything alright?" he asked.
"Yes Dad. Dad someone is ringing the doorbell. I will speak to you later,” I lied and cut the call.
So he didn't want to call me ?
I thought something is wrong with my mobile but something is wrong with me.
I went in the hall and Daya uncle told me he made lunch and dinner and now he will take the lunch to Ranveer’s office.
For a second I thought that I will go to his office and give him tiffin but then I changed my mind.
I was angry and hurt at him.
Why did he didn’t wait for me today?
For the first time he left without waking me up and that too on my birthday.
Why didn’t he call me?
To erase every thought of my mind I decided to go and paint.
Today I decided to paint a lonely girl sitting across the river.
Lonely girl just like me.
I was so busy in drawing that I didn't realize an hour was passed.
My mobile rang and I hurriedly picked up my mobile hoping it was Ranveer but it was an unknown number.
I picked up the call and was shocked to hear the voice on the other side of the mobile.
"Happy Birthday, Naina."
"Why did you called me? That day I asked you to cut all ties with me and now you are calling me?" I shouted.
"I just wanted to wish you, Naina."
"Sameer, please stop calling me,” I pleaded.
"I didn’t want to call you but my heart forced me to call you and wish you. This is my last call,” he said but I was quiet.
"Naina, do you remember our plan?" he asked.
"Why are you talking about all this nonsense, Sameer?” I asked.
"Remember how we planned to fool your husband, how we decided to marry him but then leaving him and getting married and start our life?" he asked.
"Yes Sameer, I was a fool and I will always regret how we decided that I will marry Ranveer and leave him after few years and we both will be together but everything is chan..."
"I know everything is changed now as you love your husband but I still have feelings for you, Naina. Your feelings have changed but my feelings are not changed but don’t worry I will not disturb you as I love you and cannot hurt you. Happy Birthday once again, love,” he said cutting my next words off and then cut the call.
I cringed hearing the word 'love' from his mouth.
"Advantage of keeping the door open,” I heard Ranveer's voice and turned around to see he was standing there and looking at me angrily.
"So his name is Sameer?" he walked towards me.
Oh my god!
He heard everything.
"You know Naina that day when I saw you in the restaurant with some guy I thought he was your friend and I wanted to ask you why you lied to me and went to meet him but then you came home and again lied so smoothly to me. Can you imagine what is my condition for the past days?"

Let this be a dream.
"My wife is lying to me and meeting some guy behind my back? You know so many questions were running in my mind?"
"Ranveer I.." I tried to make him understand but he didn't let me speak.
"Where did I went wrong? Was there something wrong in my love? Was I less in giving you sexual pleasure? Was he better than me in pleasing you? Didn't I give you enough money?" he asked numerous questions.
Tears were rolling down my cheek as I looked at him and saw hatred in his eyes for me.
"But now I get to know that you both planned it all along?" he was leaving the room but stopped in his tracks and turned around and our eyes met.
"Happy Birthday, Naina."
He said and left and I just stood there and saw my life crumbling down in front of my eyes.
