Chapter 43
I was in the room having breakfast and Damon didn't leave my side. He stayed by my side and carefully watched me every time I took a bite of food. I can't stop feeling awkward because of what he's doing. But at the same time, my heart felt so happy with the way he was treating me. I'm like a broken crystal that he wants to keep so much.
"Don't you have work today, Damon?" I asked him. I was about to finish eating when I thought of asking him about that. It's a wonder he didn't leave this morning. He went home early last night, and he won't be working today. Stone might have a hard time because he has all the work. Anna will worry even more.
"Delta Robin and Stone are both there to supervise everything," he answered. I nodded. It's good that Stone has company. Even though Delta Robin is old I know he can still be counted on for tasks.
"I'm going to the library today. I'll take Anna with me. You should go now to your work," I said after drinking the milk that was included in my breakfast this morning.
"No need to call Anna. I'll be with you this whole day," he said which made me stop. I looked at him with a shocked expression.
"Damon there's no need. Anna is there to accompany me. Finding Jules is more important, Damon,” I said quickly. He frowned and stared at me intently.
"You don't want me to be with you, Athena?" I could hear the growing irritation in his tone. I smiled at him. I couldn't believe he was being like this! I don't know if I will be happy or not.
"I want to be with you, Damon. I’m just thinking about…Jules and—”
"Don't think about him, Athena. You should only think about me. Like it or not I'm gonna be with you,” he said with finality. I can't help but smile and shake my head. He's also stubborn, huh?
We did everything he wanted. Just like he said he did come with me to the library. Anna was ordered by Damon to stay in the kitchen and help there. I took four books from the shelves to read that day. I don't really like to read, but since I came here to the Agama Kingdom, it has become my pastime.
Maybe because I am also entertained because most of the books here are about the lives of werewolves. Werewolves are secretly existing in this world. What people know in the world where I grew up, they are just myth, mythical creatures. They are just a legend or something.

I kept thinking. If Alpha Devon didn't die, I won't exist in this world. Mommy will have a child with Alpha Devon and it's not me. Damon's mate will definitely be different. They will be happy...Mommy with Alpha Devon as a queen and Luna of this kingdom.
Thinking that I won't be Damon's Luna hurts me. It's like I can't bear to think that I won't even be able to be with him in this world.
"What are you thinking?" I shifted in my seat when Damon spoke. He is now in front of me, and we are holding the same book. But I didn't realize that I was staring at Damon for a long time. He smirked at me when he saw my flabbergasted face.
"You must be staring at a book, Athena," he said with a grin. I tried my best to compose myself and rolled my eyes at him to lift myself in front of him!
“I am! I was just…thinking something,” I reasoned and avoided looking at him. I looked down at the book I was holding and forced myself to read a sentence. But I don't understand why I'm having a hard time getting the meaning of it into my mind.
"Should I turn myself into a wolf to read your mind?" I was stunned by what he said.
"What?"
"I want to know your thoughts right now," he simply said. Shall I tell him? It's nothing serious, though.
"It's nothing. That's not about you," I said indifferently. I looked back at the book.
"Then who? Who are you thinking of beside me, Athena?” he asked warningly. I can't help but chuckle a bit. Why is it a big deal to him that I think of someone other than him?
"It's nothing, Damon. I was just thinking about Stone,” I teased him. I should try and tease him, right? I laughed especially at his reaction because I saw the irritation on his face even more. He put the book he was holding on the table between the two of us and looked at me intently.
"Why are you thinking about him instead of your husband, Athena?" there is an emphasis on every word he says. I chuckled. He frowned at my laughter.
"It's not funny, Athena," he warned.
"It is, Damon!" I smirked.
"How can it be fun if I find out my wife is thinking about another man?" he asked annoyed. I smiled widely at him. I leaned forward and reached his chin. I quickly kissed him on the lips. I grinned and returned to my seat. I saw the shock in his eyes because of what I did. I acted like I didn't do anything even though I felt so nervous.
Damn it! Am I flirting with Damon now?
"Let's go back reading, Damon," I casually said. But I can still feel him staring at me. I was surprised when he effortlessly lifted the table in the middle of us and removed it from there so that he could bring his chair closer to me. Now we are only about a span away from each other.
My eyes went to him, and I melted because of the fire igniting in his eyes. The fire that consumes my entire being is there again.
"You're fucking seducing me, Athena," he whispered as he pressed hot kisses down my jaw down to my neck. I bit my lower lip. The book I was holding fell and I automatically clung to Damon's chest. The heat in his body is making me horny. I don't know how he does this to my body. With just a little hold and a kiss, I fall into the blazing fire.
"W-Were you seduced?" my voice was hoarse and so girly. I heard him mutter a curse before his hand slid inside my dress and reached for my panties, his other hand is now molding my breast underneath my clothes. "Why?" his question exploded. It's like he's been deprived of candy. He's so cute!
"We're in the library! What if someone suddenly walks in—”
“I locked this fucking library, Athena. I also warned the guards outside not to let anyone go inside," he said and went back to kissing my jaw. He pulled me closer to him.

It was at the end of the shelves, so I didn't see it quickly before! I can't be mistaken! It was Alpha Devon's book! I swallowed hard and quickly took it and inserted it into the thicker book. I hid it and remembered where I put it. I'll make sure to come back tomorrow to pick it up.
"Athena let's go," Damon invited. I quickly nodded and followed Damon. He held my hand and intertwined our fingers while my mind was occupied with the book I saw.
