Chapter 9
Maryam's POV
**Next Morning **
I yawned and open my eyes slowly. I looked around and realize I was in my room, I vividly remember I slept off mistakenly in the kitchen yesterday, so how did I land here? Perhaps, may be Kareem was the one who took me here? No.. No..No it can't be him, he won't even touch me with all what I've said to him yesterday, but no other person would dare touch me except him, I can't help but to giggle as I think of the tingly my body would feel if he was the one who had really brought me here.
I look up and saw Kareem figure... Maryam, stop day dreaming! You're definitely crazy in love!
I looked up clearer this time around and still saw him standing. "Kareem? What are you doing here?" I asked unsure.
"Get up, we're leaving now" he told me harshly.
"Huh?! Leaving? Why?". I asked in a surprise tone. Mom had told me we would take more than two months before we return and this is just a month.
"I don't have to tell you anything, you only have just ten minute to pack all of your stuff, I'll be waiting for you in my car, don't make me stay long woman if not, you would be surprise because, I won't hesitate to leave you here". He told me walking out from my room.
"Like seriously Kareem? He didn't even bother begging for what he did yesterday, so rude, i wonder which planet he came from. I quickly stood to my feet immediately I remember his words,i didn't want face his wrath anytime soon. But how does he expect me to finish everything in just ten minute?" I thought before I sauntered to my bathroom.
"I go miss you dear(I'll miss you so much dear)". Mama faiza said sadly before engulfing me into a tight hug.
"I'll too, but I promise, I'll definitely come back "
"I hope so.... Please take good care of your self".
"I'll bye, And take care". I waved.

"Erm Kareem, I'm sure by now you must have change your mind right?". I told him the moment we were in his car. But he ignored me.
"You can really make this easy Kareem by just saying the word 'I gave you my consent' that's really what you have to say" I told him as I make my self comfortable in his car. He ignored me again.
"Really Kareem, you don't want me to school? You know this can go on and go on, I don't mind, I'll continue to frustrate your life Kareem, forget about what i said to you yesterday, I won't leave you at peace till you give me that consent" still he choose to ignore me.
I think his name shouldn't have been Kareem , it should have been something ignorance or emotionless . I think emotionless will suit him more. what can I really do to make him talk? I smirk as I remember his weak point.
"May be, I should just let Mom knows about what you've been doing to me, once we reach home- wait a minute! I don't even need that since my phone is already here with me-"
What happened next really scare the hell out of me. He roughly stepped on the brake and the car stopped all of a sudden. The anger is clearly evident in his eyes "what is wrong with you? Do you really want us to end up in a hospital? "I asked him glaring.
"Look here woman, you won't dare tell my mother anything going on between us, do I make my self clear? " he asked fuming. He was now holding my wrist tightly, which his nails were penetrating through my skin. A water of tear drop down my cheeks.
"Ka.... Kareem, you're hurting me" I told him crying. Like a magic he drop his hand and rake his hair roughly.
Do you think I'll easily back down? No I won't, you've done worst than this, so you can't scare me anymore arrogant man.
I suck in my pain and said. "Kareem like seriously, we can't continue this way, okay I promise, I won't tell your mom about anything, just do me the favour and allow me to further my education, we can't keep arguing on this issue"
"Good! we won't argue on this issue, it's a no for me and that's period". He told me with finality in his tone.
I sigh frustratedly because I'm tired of this man, i can't really believe why i had to fall in love with him, he doesn't even like me and here I'm,madly in love with him.

"Maryam my dear, I missed you so much". Mom said hugging immediately she enters the room. She didn't even bother dropping her bag before she engulf me in a tight embrace.
"Mom, it just a month". I said smiling.
"I know, but I really missed you dear. I considered you as my daughter"
"I do miss you too Mom"
"I'm here getting jealous". Kareemah said whining.
"Come on bestie! I missed you too"
We were all talking and laughing and then Mom announced that she's leaving. Once she left, Kareemah slump her self beside me "bestie, so how was the honeymoon? " she ask raising her eyebrow.
"Well, horrible!". I told her everything and she open her mouth in shock. "Wow bestie, you know you're crazy right? You were so confident telling me few days ago that you would never fall for my brother and here you're, over hills for him".
"To be sincere with you Kareemah, I don't know how it all happened. He was drunk and-
"Again?! Oh my God! Thank you so much Maryam for not telling mom about it".
I nod. "And about my love for him. I don't know, may be it's because of the state that I had seen him the other day, may be that's why I fell for him suddenly. I don't know how or why, I just know that I loved him, I truly do."
"Great! Equation balance" she said smiling.
"Equation balance?" I asked confused.
"Yes equation balance, you'll be able to change him for good and does that mean, you're not leaving again?". She asked and I nod in shyness.
"Oh really? The great beautiful Maryam won't leave the handsome Kareem. Wow! this is great!".
She's much way older than me but she won't cease acting like a child.

"Hey! You're back". I told him smiling but he only ignores me and went to his room.
After some minute, I went straight to his room and knock but got no response from him. Is he dead or something? I've been knocking for the past ten minute and got no response....then I decide to go in.
"Don't you know how to knock? or you just don't want to. You should know that this is not your father's house". He said rolling his eyes. Thank God he's alive.
"Thank you for reminding me your highness" I said bowing to him. "Actually, I've been standing here for the past ten minute knocking but you choose not to answer, and since I got no response from you, I decide to come in. Who knows, may be my husband was doing something bad which he didn't want anyone to know about" I said teasingly but didn't fail to see the look on his face. Was that a fear? No, that can't be possible! the almighty Kareem can never be scared of me.
"What do you want? " It sound rudely but he said it in a calm weird way.
"I prepare you food....I... I think you should come eat your food" I told him stuttering.
"Thank you, I'm not ready to die. I have my food here that I can eat" he said moving closer to his bed.
"Food? Where's the food because I can't find any" I thought scanning the room. The only thing I saw was a syringe, and what's he going to use that for?
"Come on Kareem! Do you think I'll stoop so low to poison you?"
"Well, can't you? You married me because of my money remember?"
How dare him? He doesn't even know me and he's judging already?
"Kareem I married you because I had to-". I stopped before I could spill the bean.
No! I can't tell him. I can't let him know the truth.
"Yes because?" He inquires but I choose to keep my mouth shut.
"You see, you can't even utter another word! look here woman, just stay away from me, i don't like you at all! it irritate and annoys me anytime I see your face! just go away from my life,I hate you! " he said angrily and now he was really fuming.
What's wrong with him? I was only trying to help.
"Go! Go away from here,I hate seeing your face!"
"And I love seeing your face because I love you" I wanted to tell him this but decide to keep my mouth shut, he might end up beating me again.

"Good morning.... I prepared you your favorite". I told him smiling, showing him my perfect teeth.
"Please don't ask me how I know, your sister told me".
He walk to the dinning and open all the food, I was so happy that for the first time of our marriage, he's going to eat my food.
He picked up the food and throw them away roughly. "Wh....what are you doing? " I asked.
"What does it seems like I'm doing?! I warned you severally woman! don't come near me, I had told you! I hate you! I hate seeing this damn face that like haunting me everyday in my dream! I hate it! You are nothing but a witch who knows nothing but to haunt ones peace! I'll forever going to torment you till you leave me alone in peace!...I'll definitely make you go back from where you came from" he said slamming his two hands on the table before walking out in annoyance.
I don't know why, i was to be sad by what he had just said and did, but why was I happy? Why do I feel as if he had a soft spot there for me in his heart but he's hiding it?
"Whatever you do to me kareem, I won't change my mind, try all your possible best to make me feel miserable and leave but I won't,I'm stick to you forever Kareem " I told my self smiling .
