Chapter 4
Maryam's POV
"I'm going to miss you, Maryam," Kareemah said sadly as we both hug each other.
We couldn't leave because of my wound, we had to wait for about a week for it to heal.
"But I'm not going for so long. I'll be back in few weeks."
My mother-in-law had called me earlier and told me everything since her stubborn son refused to say a word to me.
"I know, I just can't help it. I mean, we just started our friendship a week ago".
"That's okay you two. Enough with the emotional talks". Mom intervenes.
"Maryam dear, please take good care of yourself. I'm sorry, I had to do this for you and my son".
"I understand Mom"
"Daddy," I said and walk towards where he was standing. Aunty didn't show up which is fine by me. She'll only ruin my mood after all.
"Take care of yourself, my dear"
"I will"
We stood outside the house in front of his car "Don't forget to call me regularly, okay?" Kareemah warned me after we were done hugging and I nod.
"I will" I replied her before going to Mom and hugged her too. She hugged me tightly and I was afraid at that moment, I won't be able to breathe.
"Please be safe my beautiful daughter and don't hesitate to call us whenever you needed someone to talk to". Mom told me after she broke the hug.
"We have to go now" he uttered calmly but the Kareem I've come to know in this past few weeks is not this Kareem. If our family were not here, I'm sure, he would have said something bad to me or probably start threatening me or beat me again like he always does.
"Kareem please, take good care of my daughter," dad told him and he nodded.
"I... I'll make sure to... to take good care of her," Kareem said as he takes a look at me. I don't know why, but I think, I had a very deep feeling that he meant what he said in another way.
I felt my eyes brimming with tears and I couldn't help but to just keep it in. I felt really sad because no one knows what I'm going through, he's such a good actor that no one could ever sense anything. I'm very sure, I'm only going with him only to be suffered.
I never thought of marriage in my entire life, and the person I got married to wasn't the type of a husband I would pray for, sure he's got the look, handsome and the rest but that was just it, nothing else was dreamy about him.
I wave to everyone and Kareem drove the car out of the compound. I couldn't help but start crying, it was uncontrollable as I remember my past up till now.
"Would you stop crying... it's so irritating?" Kareem said as he drove. It was very obvious that he wasn't happy with everything that's happening, but I won't disregard the part that he was a bad actor.
I kept silent and didn't say anything, I was not in the bad mood to reply even though he had warned me. However, I couldn't just stop the tears, I don't know if it's because I just left everyone or maybe because I married the worst person ever, I'm going with him to be suffered because I'm very sure, he wouldn't take things lightly with me.
I sniffed and wipe my face but still didn't take a look at him. He might slap me or curse me for looking at him. I stared at the road and I began to wonder where was he taking me to, where exactly are we going? Mom had told me Dubai but with the way, I'm seeing things it's not!
"Could... Could you please..... tell..... tell me where we're going to?" I finally summon the courage to ask him as I couldn't bear it anymore, just sitting with him in his car and let him take me to somewhere I don't even have an idea of is killing me.
Instead, he took a look at me and turn back to the road without saying anything.
"Kareem, I said... Please" I told him again but he still chooses to ignore me.
"Why Why is it so hard for you to answer this one calm question?"
"Because I don't want to, stop frustrating me, just do as I say, Maria," he said without taking a look at me.
"It's Maryam, not Maria" I corrected him.
"Whatever" he blurted and the rest of the ride went quiet. Before I knew it, everywhere was now dark I fell asleep.

"Hey!.... Get up!! " I heard Kareem's cold voice as he tap me harshly on my shoulder. I opened my eyes slowly, when my eyes are cleared properly, I take a look at the surroundings and realize that the car was parked in front of a snug house. The whole surrounding was just plain and trees were all around there. Did he bring me to a forest? I thought, we were supposed to leave for Dubai.
Finally, my eyes landed on him, he stood there staring at me with his fury eyes. what have I done again?
"If you're done with your staring, you can get down from my car," he said in a cold voice.
I saw another man standing behind him. Where did he come from all of a sudden? No one was in the car with us earlier.
Maryam, you're just too silly. He lives here of course!. My subconscious told me.
"What are you waiting for? Go and get the luggage from the car into the house"
"yes sir" The man quickly said and ran to get our luggage. Kareem didn't even ask me in, he just went in just like that.
I took in a very deep before I walk in the path he walks through. I stood in front of the wall frame and admiring what I was seeing.
"Come here" I heard Kareem's voice ordered. I turned and see him standing in front of a room. We aren't going to be sleeping together in a room, are we? After that encounter which I had caught him doing with his friends, I had promised myself that I won't ever let him touch me again.
"I said come here! " he said again yet with a firmer voice and I moved closer to him. He walks into the room with his hands in his pocket and I followed him gently, me entering, I felt him close the door with his leg.
"What's going on? " I thought looking at his scary face.
