Nana's POV
"As salamu alaikum (Peace be upon you)" both me and my husband said in unison
"Wa'alaikumu salam (Peace be upon you too)...Aah! Aah! Aah! What a pleasant surprise Sis! You never informed me you were coming " Jemila said smiling showing us her perfect white teeth. If I was in the mood I would have hug her so much acting all crazy but today I'm not,and I'm not sure what will be the outcome of this situation. I only hope what that nurse said was not anywhere near the truth, if not I won't be able to forgive them for the rest of my life even though she doesn't know about it she's still infected coz it's her husband who did the evil deeds
"Where's your husband ?" I asked flatly
"Sister Nana what's wrong? Why is your face and voice this way?"
"I'm sorry but I can't answer you right now,I really need to talk to Qasim"
"Nana" my Husband called trying to calm me down but I won't heed to his word this time around
"Sweetheart! " she called from downstairs, judging from my face she could tell this is so serious
"I'm coming" he yells back
"I think you should come out, your brother and Sis are here!" She yells back so he could hear
"What! OK tell them I'm coming"

"Bro! Sister!" He called as he hug my husband and nod towards me
"What brought you two here?" He asked scanning from my husband to me
"Why? Can't we come visit you? Or is there something you're keeping from us and you didn't want us to know about it?" I asked taking him off guard, he face wrinkled all of a sudden, he looks like a child been caught stealing meat in the pot. I take a look at my husband and gave him the look of 'did you see what I was telling you' and he nod in agreement,guess he also sense it too
Taking a look at Qasim again,he has already masked the surprise look off and was smiling nervously "wh....what do you mean ....sis...sister?" He asked stuttering
"Well what happened to you today Qasim? You've never stuttered before?" I asked smirking
"Sister Nana what's really happening here?" Jemila interferes
"This is not your place to talk jemila,you stay out of this" I told her raising my left hand indicating to her to shut up before facing her husband " won't you ask why the sudden change?"
"I....I don't get what's going on....you're not-"
"Of course you can't expect me to be nice to the person who took my daughter away from me"
"Wh....who ...what do you mean took....took your daughter? Who took your daughter? "
"Are you asking me? Or should I call the same doctor whom you offer a huge ransom of money to in exchange for my baby?"
"Please just say this is not true and everything will be fine,we won't have to fight or argue on this issue" I thought
"What?! Was it Mahmud who told you two?" He asked widening his eyes. Guess he doesn't even know he has spilled it out. So it was true! He really did it! My baby was with him all this while. I didn't know when tears flew out my eyes and was now running down my cheeks uncontrollable
"So it's true" my husband finally asked getting angry
"Wh...what was-" He stopped as he recall what he just said
"Bro! Sis I can explain, walahi I can explain, please hear me out" he beg but right now it wasn't entering, what was on my mind was just to deal with him,to make him feel the pain he has given me for the past two years . I move closer to him and bite him on his right ear,he keeps shouting but I don't care even my husband tries to draw me back from him but he didn't succeed coz I was using all my power on him
I move from his ear to his arm,then his back,he keeps yelling till my husband was able to release him from me "How dare you! How dare you betrayed us Qasim?! We love and care for you but what did you do in return? You hurt us! You deceived us! You betrayed our trust in you! How dare you!" I yelled trying to wiggle out from my husband's grip but I couldn't succeed because his grasp on me was so tight
"Please let me explain, I can explain my self" he beg
"We...we're sorry sister Nana" Jemila begged kneeling down as she begs crying too
"Wait! Did you....did you know.....did you know about this too?" I asked flustered in bewilderment
She only nod her head and I'll take that as a yes
"You knew too?! You knew she was my baby?! You knew that and you took her away from me?! You took my baby?! What have I done to deserve this treatment from you two! Ìmú! Haá ìmú ni ká tí kòje kagbó òrún àshébi (Nose! Eh Nose! You're so wicked! For not letting me perceive the evil people)"
"You two are so heartless! Very very heartless! I promise you, you'll both rot in jail! You won't go free after doing this to me!" I yell shedding as I barge out of the house,their existence alone suffocates me. How could they plan and take my baby away from me?! I've always loved them just why will they do this to me?! Why? Just why?!!!
"Nana" My husband called as he back hug me
Don't hug me! " I pushed him away
"What are you doing?! I'm not part of their plan,we're both a victim!" He tried to defend him self,I could see from his eyes that he's also hurting but he's just holding it in. But this is all his fault too
"This is all your fault! All this is your fault!"
"How is that my fault?!"
"If you haven't left for that work of yours all this wouldn't have happened! If you were there with me they wouldn't have taken my child away from me! But I won't back off! I'm going to sue each and everyone of you! I'm going to sue them all" I said using my two hands to hit his chest but he didn't budge,he only keep saying "Let them out,don't hold it in"
"I hate my self Jawad,I hate my self for being careless,I hate my self for believing that my daughter was dead!"
"Please don't,you really needs to stay strong, our children needs us, how can we fight if we're weak?"
"Yes you're right, I'll fight back! I'll fight them, I'll take my child away from them!" I said wiping off my tears with my two hands

"Sister?!" Jemila asked unsure as she saw me entering their house. But I wasn't affected by her shock, what was on my top list was the bags I saw
"Are they planning to leave? To run away?" I thought
"Where are you going?" I asked. I can't help but to ask
"We....we're leaving this town"
"What?! You're are leaving? And my baby?! You'll take her along with you right?! If I wasn't here at the right time you could have taken her away from me completely.... Is that it?"
"Sister-"
"Don't call me your sister!.....Tànní sister òshí"
"I knew you'll be here" I heard my husband's voice behind me panting like he has been in a marathon
"What are you doing here" he asked now standing beside me but I didn't bother to answer him as I just roll my eyes at his question
"You're leaving?" He asked in surprise. Now his attention was fully on jemila
"I...I...we're-" she was still stuttering when her husband came out from one of their rooms
"Jawad! Nana"
"Wow! So now you call us by our names?!" I asked sarcastically
"Well I'm not here for that...can I have my baby?! "
"Which baby?!"
"Are you seriously asking me that?! Of course my princess that's with you...Maryam" I finished glaring at him
"Well she's dead for your information and this girl you're seeing was adopted by us a year ago"
"You expect me to believe that?" I asked after laughing in sarcasm
"Believe it or not she was adopted by us"
"and my child?!"
"She died immediately we went for the vacation and my wife was so devastated so we decide to adopt a baby girl"
"Well I don't believe you"
"It up to you then " he replied shrugging off his shoulder
"Let get a DNA test" I blurted out as his face became pale all of sudden. I smirk coz I know the outcome already,he was lying when he said he adopt the girl when in fact she was my daughter
"What?!"
"Yeah! That's a great idea" my husband said in agreement
"So what do you think?" I asked smirking
"Yea....yeah...yeah we should " he finally agreed
"But mind you she wasn't your daughter, and I'll never give her to you!"
"Believe me Qasim you don't have to worry,if she really isn't my daughter then we'll back off but.....but I won't forgive you for the rest of my life coz you took my happiness away from me, you took what could have completed me...and you Jemila,you're a mother too,you know how it feels but instead you betrayed me and never did you two tries to show sympathy or sorry for your actions but I hand you over to Subhana'u wata'alah....He will be the one to judge between us coz you've already hurt me and my husband so much"
***** Two days later*****
The test was carried out and it turns out to be Negative. How could that happened?
"But she was my daughter! I'm sure of it!" I exclaim angrily
"Well I told you didn't I? She wasn't yours but you choose not to believe me"
"But you took my child away from me!!"
"I'm sorry! I'm really sorry...." He said
"Do you think sorry can solve this? Do you think sorry can bring back my child?! You never gave me the chance to feel the warmth of my baby"
"I'm sorry, I didn't know what else to do as at that time,my wife was so devastated and you're lucky to be gifted two girls so I had to do it to make my wife happy"
"And to make me sad? For the rest of my life?! Do you even know how you sound? You sound stupid!"
"I'm sorry sister.....I truly am....and I hope now you believe me that she wasn't your child. We're leaving this town today to relocate yo another place,please don't try to look for us,I'll contact you when it's the right time.....Jemila let go"
"I hate you Qasim...I really do"
"I'm sorry Bro! Sis!...." He said before they both leave,leaving I and my husband sitting. Jemila looks at me for the last time with teary face before they both walk out
"How could they do this to us?....I told you to let us file a case against them or probably sue them,we have the money but no you refuse! You refuse the idea because he's your only brother and what did he do in return? He took our child away from us,I wasn't able to hold my baby before her death" I cried and cried till there's no more tears to shed
"I promise you Jawad,I'll never forgive Qasim and his wife,I'll never and ever forgive them"
"I'm sorry" my husband keep saying

Subhanallah....is this real? My Mom went through all this? And all I could think is that she hated me and makes my life miserable. It wasn't even her fault that she treated me that way,it was the Man whom I thought to be my real father,it was his fault! He made all our lives miserable! He never let our families complete. I loved him, I've always do and hated my own mother just because of him
