Tory's POV
I gladly went home after class ended gloating over Nate's constant glares at me. It felt good to know that he was all pouty faced because of me!
Payback really is a bitch, he thought he could mess with me. Besides, I'm definitely not playing in that dumb sports event, he never asked for my compulsory participation so...
After school, he drove Toni to wherever the hell it is they went while Tia went somewhere with some of her friends. That left just Rachel and I, she was starting to talk to me now.
" Hey, are you gonna be fine?" I asked and she nodded.
" You know that if you need my help I'm here."
" I know Tory, I just feel like a bitch"
" How so?" I asked as I leaned on the wall outside.
" Jake cares about me, but, I just don't feel like he'll be good for me. He lives me wanting more of him and it sucks, now that we had this fight, he's gonna start messing around with some random girl to piss me off"
" You guys just need to let go of your ego and try to make things work."
" How will it, when he's close friends with Nate?"
" Do you hate Nate?"
She looked away before she sighed.
" Forget it, Tory"
" Be honest"
" Not as much as you do, actually not at all. He's never bothered me, I guess that's why"
" He's never bothered you because you're his friend's girl - officially or not. Besides, I can't believe you've been rebuffing Jake's feelings because of my hatred for Nate" I said feeling really awful that my friend couldn't be with who she wanted to just because of me.
" It's just, you hate the guy so much that I didn't think you'd wanna see me hanging out with him and Jake rather than you" she explained and I sighed
" It's fine, I get it. I want you to be happy, and I'll be happy if you are... So try and fix things with Jake okay?"
" If he'll chill down his egocentric ass"
" He can't be half of egocentric as Nate" I said with a scowl and she laughed and said, " God no!"
" So, I'll see you on Monday then" I said.
" Okay, bye baby girl" she said beaming as she waved at me, while I entered the car.
" I certainly hope Nate's not at my house" I said to myself.
Getting home, I spotted my mom's friend's car. She was close to my mom and sisters but not me, she kept calling me Toby even though she knew my name.
Plus, she's more or less a whore and I don't like her around my mom before she starts telling my mom to consider remarrying when she knows that my mom doesn't want that. If she dares it, she'll regret it.
" Oh come on Valora, you know that you need a man in your life. When was the last time a man kissed you?" I heard Tiffany say as I entered the house! She's doing what I thought she'd do. They didn't know I had entered so they continued their talk.
"It's been two years Tiff, it's not that long" I heard my mom say.
" Until it gets to ten, twenty, or thirty years before you start thinking of a man?!"
"No, it's just. I still love my husband, I don't have eyes for anyone yet."
" No offense Valora but he's dead"
That statement pissed me off, I didn't know when I walked up to them and stared daggers at Tiffany.
" You can't talk about my father, her husband like that! Have some respect!" I said.
" Toby, I wasn't being disrespectful, I was stating a fact. Disrespectful is you coming in here and forgetting to greet your mom and I"
" Well, I would've remembered that if I didn't just catch you trying to deceive my mom into being a whore like you and for fucks sake stop calling me Toby! "
" Tory! Stop that nonsense talk at once!" My mom scolded me and I scoffed.
" Of course you'll support her even when you know she's wrong."
" Go to your room now!" She yelled at me and I angrily went upstairs to my room and slammed the door shut.
I started muttering curses as I took off my clothes and hit the showers, I didn't even acknowledge Trudy's excited barks.
After my shower, I wondered what I could do to get over this angry feeling inside me.
Ah.... yes! The arcade, it's always been the place I go to get lost and have some crazy fun, just that I haven't gone for two years.
I got dressed and headed straight for the arcade. I ignored my mom's frantic calls and entered the car, luckily it was Mr. Joe that was gonna drive. I liked him way better than that dirty-minded, yet sexy man called Brian. He has the hots for Tia and keeps bothering about how to win her heart. Like he's got a chance.
" Miss Williams, where to?" Mr Joe asked.
" The Live it arcade" I said returning the warm smile he flashed me.
" Okay ma'am"
After being stuck in traffic for almost an hour, we finally got there. He parked the car and I got off, steadying myself as I felt a little shaky.
There were so many people hanging outside and I imagined a whole lot more would be inside as well. The arcade has done very well, I adjusted my pants because of how freaking tight they were and tried to see if there was any way my crop top would be longer as I drew it down a bit.
Stepping inside the arcade, I ignored the whistling of some guys at a game stand and walked aimlessly since I'm not so familiar with the new look of the arcade.
" Hey, baby!" One of them yelled and I don't know why I turned around but I did, it was some dude, not all that tall but he was handsome, I bet the other guys there were his minions.
Seeing my face, they started whistling louder and they guy blew me a kiss, I turned around, shaking my head as I headed straight for nowhere. That's when I saw Nate, Rex, and Isabella at one of the arcade machines and I immediately hid behind another as I spied on them.
I saw Nate give Rex some money so I assumed they made a bet and Nate lost. I backed them, planning to leave because I didn't want them to see me but as I started to leave, Nate and Isabella walked past me and then left the arcade.
I heaved a sigh of relief, a mischievous smile on my face as I realized that Rex was probably staying behind and I can finally try those seductive moves on him as Janelle and Joanne said.
I turned around and let out a small scream when I saw Rex behind me.
" What are you doing here Tory?" He asked with his hands in his pocket as his eyes raked my body and I gulped.
