CHAPTER THIRTY
JAYDEN’S POV
I woke up this morning with a slight headache after getting myself drunk last night. I knew I had left the bar to my suite but I can’t remember getting on the bed all on my own except with someone's help.
I cracked my head trying to recall who had helped me when the face of Sarah vividly came to my head.
I remember what had happened last night. I can’t believe I tried to force myself on her thinking it was my Amanda who is long gone and never coming back to me.
What would she really think of me now? This has never happened to me before but last night, I indeed turned into a real monster in her presence.
I remember her begging me to stop when I tried pulling her dress up but she did fight back and pushed me off before rushing out of the room.
F**k! I don’t know where to start explaining myself to her and how she’s going to see me now?
I got off the bed and walked over to the bathroom to wash myself up before calling room service to send breakfast to Sarah’s room.
Right now, I might be the last person she ever wants to see today or even have anything to do with.
I stepped out of the bathroom and heard my phone ringing on the bed only to see, it was aunt calling.
She must have probably told aunt about what happened, which is why she’s calling to scold me.
“Where the hell did you put your phone last night? I called you several times but you didn’t pick up.”
“I wasn’t in my right senses at that moment, aunt. Please, don’t scold me. I was under the influence of alcohol.”
“What are you talking about Jay? Max wanted to speak to Sarah, that's why I called you several times?” She asked.
“I don’t understand what you were trying to say? Where is Sarah? Did something happen between you two?” She added.
“Nothing aunt. Sarah will be coming back today.”
“What about you?”
“I've got something to take care of. I’ll be back in a few days.”
“Are you sure everything is okay between you and Sarah?”
“I’ve to go. Give me a call once she arrives in the mansion.” I said and ended the call before she could ask more questions.
I can’t face her like this today. I’ve to take some time to get the stuff out of my head and the incident that happened with that d****n.
SARAH’S POV
I couldn’t get the thoughts of what almost happened last night with Mr Russell. I can’t believe he tried forcing himself on me but it’s not really his fault though.
He was too drunk due to the incident at the party and thought I was his late wife, Amanda.
I thought last night was going to be over for me when he slammed his lips on mine and rushed to pull away, deepening the kiss and pressing down my hands.
I didn’t know where I got the strength to pull him off when he tried taking off my dress because at that moment I wasn’t ready to lose my virginity.
After minutes of taking my bath, I stepped out of the shower in the hope that breakfast would be ready but I was wrong.
There wasn’t a sign of anyone coming to serve me breakfast and I can’t really face my boss at the moment. I need a lot of time to get the thoughts of last night out of my head.
I know he must have recalled what happened as well and might think I tried to seduce him or something of some sort which might be the reason why he refused to send in breakfast to me.
I’m really starving badly. I couldn’t eat dinner yesterday since he disappeared after the humiliation at the party. I just hope someone kind will walk through that door with breakfast room service. I feel I could pass out any minute.
I cleaned up my body and settled for a short plain white dress before oiling and dropping down my hair. After minutes of waiting before deciding to go and check on my boss, a knock finally came on the door.
“Yes, come in.” I responded, rushing to the living room to see the head of security walking in with a staff from the kitchen rolling in the wheeler with breakfast.
“Good morning ma’am.” He greeted me.
“Good morning.”
“Mr Russell asked me to bring you breakfast. We apologize for serving you our French dishes yesterday when we should have brought in the American dishes but today due to our mistake, we have brought you only American dishes.”
“It’s okay. Thanks.” I responded with a smile.
“He also asked me to inform you that you’ll be leaving today. He has instructed me to drop you off at the airport.”
“What about him?”
“He said he had other things to deal with and won’t be heading back with you.”
What could have happened? Could he have remembered he tried to force himself on me or does he think I tried to seduce him? I really need to clarify things to him. I’m not the kind of lady that seduces men for their money or fame. I would never stoop so low of myself. I’ve to see him and explain things to him.
“Where is he right now?”
“He’s in his suite getting ready to leave.”
“I want to see him right away.” I stated and walked past them heading to his suite.
I walked inside the suite without knocking and came in contact with his firm chest as I looked up to see him staring at me with a straight face as I took a step back coming his contact with the door.
“Goo… good morning sir.” I stammered.
“Why are you here?”
“I… I just got informed that we won’t be going together.”
“Yes, I need to take care of something for a few days.”
“Uh… about last night. I didn’t try to seduce you in any way. I was concerned about you when you didn’t re….” I was trying to explain when he cut me off.
“That’s enough Mrs Weston. I remembered what happened. I apologize for my unworthy attitude towards you. Let’s forget such ever happened between us.” He said with a straight face.
“I just came to make that clarification so you won't think lowly of me.”
“If that’s all you can head back to your suite and prepare to leave after breakfast. I’m late for my flight.” He stated, as he moved towards me as I stepped forward for him to open the door before he walked out without turning back to say a goodbye.
How could he act like everything was normal? Is that how men act when they try to take a lady’s advantage? I'm always amazed with his change of attitudes. What a cold stoned hearted man.
He doesn’t even know how to deeply apologize to a woman. Gosh! I feel my pride is damn hurt right now with that cold attitude of his.
