Tithy's P.O.V.
Api was making something sweet for Ma. Ma is very fond of sweet. She was trying to convince Ma anyhow not to get her married like her life depended on it.
She was behaving oddly. When I tried to talk to her, she just went on like, "I won't get married and leave you two behind alone."
I just don’t get it. "How come two people are alone!"
My mind started chiding then, "May be she don’t believe that you can take care of your Ma all by yourself."
"But I can. Don't you think so?" I was expecting something positive to hear only to get silence from within.
At dining table, Ma was totally silent. We both sisters tried to cheer her up only to get failed. After dinner, she took the sweet, Api made for her only a spoonful. Taking the medicine, she went towards her room leaving us two behind on the dinning table.
I looked at Api who was staring at Ma sadly as she went away. When I uttered, "Api, this time you have to listen to her. Otherwise she wont let it go easily and this stress is harmful for her health. You know that very well."
Api looked at me blankly like she was having a tough time to decide what to do.
Without answering me, she got up and cleaned the table and we both came to our room.
Taking her phone, she dialed a number and went to balcony.
I walked towards washroom to make ablution for prayer as I heard Api saying, "Tamim, it’s me, Roshni. What do you think you are doing?"
When I came back to our room, Api was still on the balcony talking to Tamim Vai but I couldn’t hear what they were talking about.
I concentrated on my prayer. After prayer, I got on the bed taking a book. Api came inside the room and putting the phone back on the table, she went towards washroom only to come back after ablution. She started her prayer and I started reading the book.
After prayer, she lied on the bed beside me and closed her eyes. When I called her, "Api..", she replied, " I am tired, sweetie." keeping her eyes still shut.
I didn’t bother her anymore and while reading when I fell asleep I didn’t know.
Roshni's P.O.V.
When Ammi was giving me silent treatment, I was just getting angry on Tamim. How could he do this to me despite knowing everything.
After dinner, I got back to my room. Taking my phone, I dialled Tamim's number and walked towards the balcony.When he attended the call, I just yelled at him, "Tamim, it’s me, Roshni. What do you think you are doing? And how could you do this to me? As if you didn’t know anything about my situation!"
He normally replied, "Roshni, I was about to call you now. I just got to know what my mother had done. It’s right that I like you but I didn’t do it intentionally. My mother happened to know somehow about you and ended up doing this."
Saying all this, he stopped but when I was silent, he spoke up again, "Roshni, that day I told you that my mother is not pretty well. And now all she wants to get me married. So I was thinking.. "Interrupting him, I spoke up, "I don’t want to get married now, Tamim especially not in this situation. I want all the things to get solved which are stuck within."
"Roshni, I will help you solving this. I mean we can solve this together, right?"
I didn’t want to give him any hope. So I said, "I won't leave my family behind. I want to stay with them. I don’t want to "
Tamim didn’t let me complete and said, "Then we all can shift together. We can move to a house where we all, I mean your family and mine will live together. Our mothers will get a company for always as we are always busy with our works."
Though I liked the idea but I was still hesitant and tried to said otherwise "But.." only to get cut off by him.
"Roshni, I am not forcing you but think about this at least. I really like you a lot and I will support you always. Give me a chance, please."
Finding nothing to say, I cut off the line saying, "I will think about it."
After talking to him, I got back inside my room. Making ablution, I said my prayer and lied on the bed.
Thinking about all this, I closed my eyes. Tithy called me, "Api.." but keeping my eyes still shut, I replied to her, "I am tired, sweetie" and she got silent oddly. I thought, she would try to talk to me again like always.
After a while I opened my eyes and found her already asleep holding a book in a loose grip.
I took the book and put that on the table and put the blanket properly on her.
While staring at her, I asked whisperingly, "What should I do sweetie?"
I knew Tamim for a long time. He is a nice guy but getting married to him!
He knows about my situation fully and has been helping me for quite long.
If I reject him, what if Ammi keeps choosing some other guy! She won't be accepting 'no' as an answer from me always. She won't listen to me ever.
Should I just say 'Yes' to Tamim?
My mind answered to the question immediately, "NO" Allah knows why.
While thinking what is happening with me, when I fell asleep I didn’t know.
Ruhaan's P.O.V.
I opened my eyes only to find me lying on the floor of gym all tired and hungry. It was 12 of night. I got up and went to my room.
Getting freshen up, I went to downstairs to eat something. But being too tired to heat up the food, I didn’t feel like eating anymore. So I took only a glass of juice and got back to my room.
Lying on the bed, I kept staring at the photo frame of the table. The smiling face of ours on this family photo which always gave me the strength earlier, brought a sad smile on my face along with tears.
