Under The Moonlight: Alpha's Bride Chapter 66

Chapter 66 Sansa's Pov "Come to me!" "I'm calling you!" "Sansa!" Vera's whisper rang in my ear. I was sitting near Xavier's body when he was unconsciously laying on the ground in the jungle, covered in blood, and I stabbed him twice with the silver knife while still hearing Vera's whispers. I had greed in my eyes and a grin on my face, and I was enjoying the process because I wanted to see more blood. I was the devil, performing the devilish ritual to satisfy my hunger. I was laughing as I repeatedly stabbed Xavier's dead body with a knife. Crows screamed around me, and my gaze was drawn to the massive owl perched on a tree, watching me. My eyes were twinkling. I was feeling strong. That terrifying jungle no longer terrified me. Xavier grabbed my wrist and opened his full black eyes. When his face was cracked, blood was leaking from his eyes. "Come to me," Xavier said, his voice frightening, and Vera's voice also came from his mouth. I gasped for air and sat on the bed, heavily breathing. My heart was pounding, and my face was drenched in sweat. I realized I was on Amara's bed, and it was all a nightmare, and my breathing became more stable gradually. I looked at an alarm clock on the table's side to see what time it was. I had only gotten three hours of sleep, and I had chills all over my body. not because of the nightmare, but because I had the feeling that something big and dangerous was about to happen. My heart was tense, my mind was heavy and exhausted, and my heart was feeling something strange that I couldn't tell. No, I wasn't afraid of stabbing Xavier because he had no witnesses, nobody knew except me. I was lying in bed again, afraid to close my eyes because they were red and puffy from lack of sleep, but I decided to sleep again. My mind was racing because my body needed to rest, but Vera's whispers were constantly ringing in my ear. Was I losing my mind? Or did Vera want to meet with me? Why?   When I sought a discussion with her, she always hid and did not speak to me. "If you're listening to this, please let me sleep!" I asked in the air, thinking Vera was listening if the whispers were true. I was going insane, and the confusion was getting worse. I wanted peace, but that wasn't going to happen. I was eager to find anything that could distract me from Vera's voice. "Please stop," I said again as I looked around, hearing whispers in my ear. If someone had seen me talking in the air at that moment, the way I was trying to figure out why I was so curious, they would have assumed I was insane. "Come to me," Vera's whispers would not stop anytime soon. I decided to meet her regardless of whether she called or not. I took the pistol from under the pillow and put it in my pocket. While my entire body was in pain, I began to walk. I exited the room and came to a halt to observe everyone gathered in the corridor, some of them crying over the few dead bodies in the black coffins. In the presence of the dead, some of them remained silent. Amara approached me as I walked slowly downstairs. "How are you doing?" Amara inquired slowly. "Fine," I said slowly. I was curious as to what was going on there. Bella was sitting quietly near one of the coffins when some of the brides around her began openly sobbing over their mate's dead body. My gaze shifted to Xavier, who was sitting silently on the sofa; as we made eye contact, I became nervous, recalling the moment I stabbed him twice. He turned away from me as if I didn't exist. I took two steps toward Amara and asked, "What's going on?" "Those were the Oak Pack warriors, and Xavier took their dead bodies with him," Amara explained. Maya, who was standing a few feet away in the crowd, caught my attention with her sharp eyes. Her enigmatic personality was difficult to comprehend. I couldn't make long eye contact with her because I was too guilty to begin a trial, and justice for Hina made things worse for Ray. I couldn't stop thinking about it. Some women were sobbing more loudly over the bodies of their husbands. "Are those claimed brides, by the pronouncement of wonder?" I inquired slowly. "Yes, they are; not all are unhappy to be claimed," Amara said; she was one of them. I wasn't expecting those who had been taken against their will to cry so hard because they had lost everything in life. It was strange how someone could fall in love with their predator. Edward approached Xavier and reminded him, "It's time." Except for Bella, those who were sitting near the coffins stood up when they heard Edward speak. She didn't even respond because she wasn't present at the time. She appeared befuddled and shocked. Losing someone is the most painful feeling in the world because you know you will never see them again. You can keep their memory inside, but it will fade over time. That will also depart from you. Xavier stood up and walked slowly towards Bella, pulling out Kevin's pendant and extending it to her. "He died bravely," Xavier said, his voice trembling as he couldn't make eye contact with her. Bella shed a single tear as she took the pendant from Xavier. She couldn't make eye contact with anyone because she was lowering her head. "All right, let's go." Xavier directed the other members to transport the coffins. Four members carried one coffin, and the other members carried five coffins on their shoulders. When Bella sat on the floor and did not move, the pack members all followed them. "Wear this; other colors, especially red, are not permitted at funerals." Amara dressed me in her white coat because I was wearing a black coat. She followed the crowd. When everyone had already left, I switched the coat and pistol into a white coat. I returned my gaze to Bella, who was still sitting on the floor, staring at the pendant in her hand.
