Xavier's Pov
"He isn't dead, I would give him a more miserable death." Vera's voice was raspy.
I turned to look at Vera, who was sitting inside the cell with a cloud above her head, casting spells with her full white eyes.
"Welcome! The Oak Pack's Alpha Xavier, "Vera stated
"What exactly do you want?" As I stood up to face her, I inquired.
"How do you know that I want something?" Vera wondered.
"Some cause disasters to gain more power, but others cause chaos to exact revenge on someone; who is your target?" Without a doubt, I inquired.
"You could have said that my motivation is to gain more power," Vera retorted.
"You know how much power you wield; you don't need it, so there's only one option left; I was correct about your vengeance," I explained.
"Are you willing to do what I ask?" Vera inquired, a grin on her face.
"What will I get in exchange?" I was in the mood to strike a bargain.
"A favor," Vera said, smiling.
Jerry interrupted our important conversation when he rushed over to Edward and checked to see if he was still alive.
"He's fine," I told Jerry.
"Are you all right?" I assumed you—" Jerry inquired as he observed me conversing with Vera.
"Take Edward out," I said.
Jerry carried Edward outside the dungeon on his back.
"Leave that innocent girl alone," I advised.
"Because she owns this body, I own it as well," Vera explained.
"You can take over anyone else's body, but she can't," I explained.
"Are you willing to give up your body for her?" Vera teased me
I was staring at her silently as she attempted to read my mind, which she was unable to do.
"Aren't you scared of me?" Vera inquired, her voice husky.
"I still didn't kill you because she begged me not to, but when you stop listening to Hina, I have to do something about it," I said calmly, making Vera nervous after my threat.
"Will you stop causing havoc if I give you what you want?" I inquired.
"I will not pay for the damages, but I will refrain from causing further damage," Vera stated.
"Say the name," I instructed.
"Give me Elodie!" demanded Vera.
"Done," I said, without a second thought.
"Why have you agreed to give her to me?" I could hurt her." Vera was intrigued.
"She couldn't save my brother; she's no use to me, and I don't care if you kill her," I explained.
"There has to be a reason you're the Alpha of the oak pack, the smartest Alpha, get me out of here" Vera exclaimed.
"I will not get you out of here; you can find your own way out, but I will give you Elodie as you requested," I said when she was acting arrogantly and dishonestly.
"What do you want in return?" Vera inquired as to when I made her taste her own medicine.
"No more damages, and release Ray," I said.
"I can't," Vera admitted.
"Ray has nothing to do with our deal; if you include him in it, the deal will be different," I explained.
"Then you should be grateful when I do you a favor that is not part of our agreement." Vera began to laugh, and something was hidden behind her devilish grin.
"What kind of favor?" I inquired.
"I was bored, so I opened the west side door for fun. Is everyone okay yet? Did anyone perish? What about your bride? Is your bride in your room? Is she Safe?" Vera was teasing me
She got on my nerves, and her statement caused me to flee in search of Sansa, while the fire was eager to burn everything, my brother was living dead, and my bride, whom I eventually found, was missing. I was certain she wasn't in my room because I couldn't smell her scent.
What if she is injured? What if she's already gone? What if she screamed for help and I was nowhere to be found? Is she far away? Is she still alive? Where? Somewhere? On my way into the jungle, I was having a variety of thoughts.
For many years, the west gate kept many dangerous animals and creatures from entering our territory.
My mind was racing. I couldn't seem to find her in one direction, but my eyes weren't following my mind, and my heart wasn't following my eyes. I wanted to be in every direction at the same time.
When a wild bear attacked me, I had to use all of my strength to push it away because it was so heavy. It had fiery red eyes and razor-sharp teeth. It looked like a thirst for my blood.
I noticed a deep wound on my arm caused by a wild bear's sharp claws. I took a small silver knife from my pocket and braced myself for a fight.
That bear was not an average bear; it was twice my size and a creature from the deadly cave. We used to listen to stories as kids, but as I got older, I assumed it was just a kid's story, but I was wrong.
The deadly cave creature was a wild monster created by human hunters to exterminate werewolves and vampires, as well as any other species similar to us that they thought could be harmful to humans.
Following the annihilation of all hunters' creations by vampires and werewolves, Falkor assembled a new team of skilled hunters and scientists who created wild creatures to use as weapons against us.
The west gate was strong enough to keep any creature at bay; no one dared to open it for many years, but Vera was strong enough to do so.
That black wild bear attacked me yet again. I avoided it by rotating my body. I pounced on it and cut it several times.
That groaning black bear jumped on me again, but this time his neck vein landed on my silver knife, leaving him shivering and screaming in agony. Because I was worried about Sansa, I didn't have time to fight it.
