Sansa's pov
My steps were following Amara, and every second felt like an hour to me. I was desperate to find out why Xavier had taken me as his bride against my will.
I was curious to know what the work of that law was that caused me to lose Logan, and I wanted to predict any possibility that could free me from the curse of the pronouncement of wonder.
The true reason was about to be revealed. My heart was racing faster than a horse in a race to the finish line. My steps led me to the mansion's backyard, where no one was present at the time.
I discovered the backyard, which was filled with flowers and antiques, as well as beautiful fountains and a swimming pool.
The mansion's most beautiful feature I could feel the coldness there, as well as the extremely large and strong walls that surrounded the boundary.
"I've never seen anything like this beautiful place before," I exclaimed as I gazed around at the various types of flowers in various colors.
"Except for Xavier, who loves to spend time here," Amara explained.

"What are you thinking?" I inquired.
"How come you kept the girl in your room?" Amara was intrigued.
The mountain and the mansion were not far apart, but the rules varied even within the same pack. They didn't know Hina's name, and I noticed they didn't mind that they were taking Hina against her will.
"Her name is Hina," I explained.
"What it's all about?" Amara was perplexed.
"Have I not already told you?"
"How did you get to know her?" Amara inquired
"Remember when she came to my wedding reception?"
Amara looked into my eyes silently for a split second, as if she sensed something.
"What are you concealing?" Amara inquired abruptly.
"Nothing," I said after a brief pause.
I was trying to stay calm because I was curious about what she knew and how much she knew.
"She is a young girl who needed assistance, and I was the one to assist her while everyone else was watching her scream and nobody moved to protect her."
"Nobody is going to kill her; they were taking her up there to protect her," Amara said.
"If she was safe there, she wouldn't have screamed to stay here," I explained.
"As I previously stated, we have no right to break any of the rules." Amara was concerned.
"And what is the rule?" I said
"At any cost, no interruption; even the Alpha never interrupted in any case of mountaineers," Amara said.
I knew Xavier only worked for his own benefit; he was the most self-centered Alpha I'd ever seen. Even if he had been present, Xavier would not have stopped the guards from removing Hina.
"There's a lot I'm not aware of," I admitted.
"You're the Luna of this pack; you should know what's going on."
Amara was persuading herself to talk to me.
"Why can't she just stay? What's the problem with that?" I inquired.
Amara remained silent and thoughtful.
"Do you have anything to hide from me?" I inquired.
Amara cleared her throat and looked around before speaking, "Not only Hina but all the young girls you've seen on the mountain, they're all the brides of their partners down here bounded by the law, the pronouncement of wonder."
"What? What the hell is going on? They are young, far too young to marry." I was irritated.
"That's why all the young girls live on the mountain until they're old enough to marry their partner down here," Amara explained.
"Does the law apply to all women and girls?"
"Not all of them," Amara clarified.
"Do you belong to them?" I inquired.
"Yes, he claimed me as his bride, even though we were strangers," Amara explained.
"He took you by force," I explained.
"Yes, he took me by force, but I fell in love with him because he was kind and gentle," Amara explained.
"How could you fall in love with someone who forced you to do so?" I was let down.
I couldn't believe she had fallen in love with her predator when I despised Xavier for claiming me as his bride against my will.
"When I was bound by the law with Wyatt, he claimed me against my will, but I had accepted him with my own will by the time," Amara explained.
"I don't understand; I would not fall in love with someone who could have claimed me like that; I would have tried to flee until I died, but I would not have surrendered." I was emotional and disappointed as I told her my story but couldn't reveal the truth.
"No one can escape the law; that law has a deep connection, no matter how many times I denied it, but he is my first and last love," Amara said
"This is not right; no one has the right to force anyone to love or to force anyone to do anything against their will," I said.
"Wyatt protected me from that ruthless alpha and my father, who wanted to sacrifice me for his business. Wyatt was the Oak Pack's strongest Gamma, and after his death, the Oak Pack left the decision to me; I could leave, but I chose to stay."
Her astounding statement gave me hope. She could leave at any time. Amara was unconstrained by any laws.
I was living as Alpha's bride as a hostage, and she was free. The reality and the twisted fate astounded me.
That thought caught my attention: if Xavier died, I could be free as well. I had no idea, but Xavier's death was the only option I considered.
"What made you decide to stay?" I inquired.
"I had nowhere else to go because this is my home and family," Amara explained.
I was used to being alone on the streets, and even if I had left that mansion, I would not have regretted it. I never desired or wished to own a luxurious lifestyle. I desired to be loved, and I desired to be with Logan.
"What is a wonder pronouncement of wonder?" I inquired about which subject I was particularly interested in.
"Don't you know?" Amara was considerate.
"I'd never been in a pack before," my voice was nervous, as I didn't want to reveal anything about my life to her.
"This is not in every pack; this is the law followed by the Oak pack alone; some of the other packs used to follow the same law, but only we do now," Amara explained.
"OK," I said.
"Did you strike out on your own?"
"Yes," I replied when I didn't want to reveal any more information about myself.
"Why?" Amara inquired.
"It's a long story," I said, hoping to end the conversation.
"I have time; tell me from the beginning," Amara inquired as she told me her story.
Amara was the only person I had felt a connection with since arriving here. She was my only companion in the pack. When everyone else was busy with their lives, Amara was the only one who was available to answer my questions; she was trustworthy.
