Viola waited the whole day for her boys to report back to her but nothing came. Did they fail? She wondered he's just one man. How strong can he be to withstand tens of boys with guns? She switched the TV on and saw the news of their attack and capture. The LAPD was on the case already. She panicked how could they shoot in daylight? Are they crazy?
She has to run away from there unless the boys will reveal her location to them but again they do not know her whereabouts. She smiled but she was still worried. She tossed her phone away but picked it and burned it.
Lucas looked at the doorknob as it twisted. Audrey rushed in still stained with dirt and hugged him raining kisses on him.
" I'm fine. I passed out. Look at you." He stated checking picking dirt from her hair.
" I'm sorry for not being able to do my job. " Apologized Genevieve
" It's okay. Not your fault. And don't blame Audrey either. She saved me" he said staring at a weeping Audrey. It's the first time he has seen the caring side. She's very calm when worried. Almost lukewarm. He loves this side of her.
" Are you hungry? What should I get you? Don't say anything because you need your strength to move. " She said as he nodded kissing her forehead
" I'll eat anything you give me' he replied as she helped him to lie down while she went to get the food.
" Genevieve, Audrey is the woman after my heart. Show her respect. If you can't stand seeing her then go back to the military base. Don't you raise your voice at her again? My condition has nothing to do with her. Instead, I owe her my life. Do you hear me? Make a choice" he ordered as Genevieve curtsied and apologized militarily.
" I'll apologize to her. I want to stay by your side " she mattered
" Punish me however you want? She added
" You'll keep watch throughout the whole night in here" he finished as she frowned slightly. Hell, she's going to watch them make out the whole night. That's the real punishment.
Audrey entered with a lunch box and set the table for him. She tied a serviette to his neck and fed him mostly blowing on it and telling him" ah" to open his mouth. She didn't cling to him as before cos Genevieve was there watching with an expressionless face. She made sure he was full and cleared the table.
" Is it too hot? She asked increasing the air conditioner.
" No. You should go back to work. Gen will take care of me" he suggested
" Hell no. I can work from here. I'll direct my assistant on what to do. He's quite efficient unlike Xander" she announced checking his wound
" It's a good thing you're a strong man. The analgesic worked. I can take care of the dressing at the hotel" she said sullenly
" No need. I'll be discharged in two days. " He said drawing her closer to lie with him. She sighed and lay with him drawing circles on his chest wondering why he hasn't spoken of the attack ever since.
" Genevieve has been worried about you since. She needs to rest and eat. " She suggested feeling her hurtful gaze
" Fine. You can go but inform the guards that no one is to enter" he said as she saluted him and left
" Go to sleep Audrey. It's been a long day. ' he said as she dozed off in his arms.
His phone rang and he picked it. The goons confessed naming Viola as the assailant. Lucas clenched his fist and ordered for them to set her up carefully with the leader of the gang. His guards announced his present state to him. To make him spill, they had to hypnotize him and he's dealing with the side effects at the moment. It'll take months for him to return to his normal self.
He ended the call in anger. He can't wait for days before he catches her. She dares to try to have him killed but how did she know he was in LA. Something must be fishy but what was that? He looked at a sleeping Audrey and wondered if it's involved her. He couldn't help but think if Viola was after her because of him.
