She stood up to move farther away from him. Axle slightly frowned but after a while he smiled knowingly. "Neo, one beer please." he motioned to the bartender.
Pauline nudged Heather's side with her elbow. "That’s the vocalist right?” She whispered to her while looking at Axle .
Before she could reply, Axle got up from the seat and held his had to Pauline and introduced himself. He then looked at Heather. “Sorry if I wasn’t able to call you. I lost my phone. I feel lucky that I saw you tonight. You seem to be prettier.” he complimented her as he ran his eyes on her face.
She looked behind her back. She had to do something before Blake saw them. “Oh I’m sorry to hear about your phone. Please excuse us. We will just go to the restroom.” She said before getting Pauline’s hand.
"Wait!" He held her forearm and she tried to wriggle free. “Let’s talk first. I have been waiting to see you again. Please?”
She was about to reply when they heard a man's voice.
"Axle! Dude! We didn’t know you are here!” Said a man in white as he removed Axle’s hand on her forearm.”
“Back off Tom!” the latter demanded sounding irritated,
"You are early dude!" Another man wearing a black shirt said. He put his arm on Axle’s shoulder. “I want to tell you something. Let’s talk outside.”
“Will you two just cut it out? I am trying to talk to Heather. Anyway did you two tell Blake that the drummer is not coming so he has to play instead? Is he here already?”
"Yes Blake is here so let’s talk outside.” Arnold tried to pull him outside and Axle protested.
He turned his head to Heather. “ Please wait for me. This will be quick.” He was able to say before Arnold was able to pull him with him.
“I hope you don’t come back anymore.” Murmured Tom.
"Uh-oh chummy! Seems like that vocalist is besotted with you. I don’t think your oh-so-delicious man will like it.” She said with a shake of her head and Heather just bit her bottom lip.
“Blake is coming.” Tom told them before turning to where he was coming from.
Heather also turned around. She almost gasped when she saw him. He had a five o’clock shadow which made him look even hotter. He was wearing a long-sleeved denim shirt with matching jeans. He was talking to Tom but his eyes were on her.
"Oh my gosh chummy! Your man is sizzling! And look how he looks at you. So intense!" Pauline said giddily.
She was thankful that the lights were a little dim. Her cheeks colored with what her friend said Not only her cheeks felt warm but she felt her body reacted to him. She remembered their steamy lovemaking hours ago. She tore her gaze from him. She sat on the stool again and took a sip of her juice. Her throat and mouth felt dry.
"You two look fantastic together. " Pauline smiled and sat next to her.
"Hi Pauline." She heard Blake greeted her friend and the latter greeted him back. She on the other hand didn't turn her head to look at him.
"Sweetheart." He called her.
She felt his warm palm on her back and then he kissed the top of her head. He sat down beside her after planting a quick kiss on her lips. Pauline cleared her throat while he just chuckled. Her cheeks felt warmer because of his display of affection but she liked it. She smiled.
"Where’s Stacey?" he asked before motioning to Neo to ask for scotch on the rocks.
“She has to take care of Amara. Since you are having alcohol I want one too.” She said with a brow raised.
Blake shook his head and looked at her. He was eating her features with his eyes. "I will allow you to drink when we’re alone.” He said with his eyes glinting.
“Oh geez! I am so jealous! Excuse me lovers I better go to the restroom before I collapsed from envy!” Pauline said jokingly. Heather stuck her tongue at her but she just giggled before speaking again. “ Blake can you find me a date?”
Blake grinned. “Sure! Eve and her fiancé are coming. I think Lance is bringing a friend. I will introduce you to him.”
Pauline beamed. “Thanks! I have to retouch then before they arrive. Excuse me!” She then walked to the powder room.
Blake took her hand with his left one before he gulped his booze. "I have to replace the drummer tonight sweetheart that’s why I wanted you here. I would be more inspired to play if I know you are watching me." he said in a throaty voice.
She moistened her lips. He narrowed his eyes when he saw what her tongue did. He leaned closer to her. "I miss you sweetheart." He said almost like a whisper.
“Now I get it…” Came a man’s voice.
Heather’s eyes widened when she saw that Axle is back with Arnold. She felt Blake tensed. He slowly rose from the stool to look at Axle.
"Sweetheart.." She called him in a small voice.
Now the two men were face to face. Blake was maybe three inches taller than the other man and he was hunkier.
“Hey dudes...” It was Arnold.
"Let’s do this outside.” Blake said to Axle.
"You really move fast. Faster than any of us. “ Axle said sarcastically.
She stood up when she saw Blake clenched his fists on his sides. “Sweetheart please..."
Axle’s eyes went to her. “You are so damn lucky dude!” He told Blake without taking his eyes off her.
Arnold took hold of his arm and said, “Come on dude. Let’s practice.”
"Let Axle and I talk outside first. You and Tom can start preparing the instruments.” Blake’s voice sounded very cold.
"Sweetheart please. You don’t have to do this." She pleaded again. She knew that he was pissed.
Without turning to her, he just said, Stay here. I need to settle some score with him." He was glowering at Axle.
"Are you referring to what happened between me and Vanessa? Dude that was nothing.” Axle said.
"I don’t fucking care about that!”
Axle’s lips broke into a sneer. "I don’t blame you. Obviously who you have now is way much better. Well then let’s talk about Heather…." He couldn’t finish what he was saying because Blake grabbed his collar and dragged him. Axle protested but due to Blake’s anger and his hunky frame, he couldn’t do anything.
Arnold followed them to the male’s restroom.
"BLAKE!" She called him and was about to follow too but she felt someone stopped her by holding her left forearm. She turned and she saw Eve.
"You can't stop him.” She said before turning to the two men behind her. "Babe, please check on Axle before Blake injured him badly. We need him. They still have to perform later.”
Heather almost groaned. Eve was right. Blake could do that to Axle. The two male nodded and walked to where the restrooms where.
Eve gently pulled her hand,” Let’s go.”
“Where?” She asked.
“In the dressing room.”
Then she saw Pauline coming so she motioned her to come with them ..
( Inside the dressing room)
“My cousin needs to control himself. I don't want a repeat of this. What exactly happened?" Eve asked.
She and Pauline where sitting down while Eve was standing near the door.
"Axle was talking to me then Tom and Arnold came. Arnold took him outside but when they came back inside Blake said that he and Axle must talk.” Heather’s voice was small.
Eve sighed. "He sees red when some men is near you but he has to trust you. I am afraid that it would come to the point that he hurt you physically due to jealousy.” Eve’s brows furrowed when she lowered her eyes. “Is he hitting you?”
Pauline got her hand. " Chummy? Is Blake hurting you physically?"
Blake doesn’t intentionally leave light bruises on her arms. Due to his jealousy he dragged her or held her arm tight which left marks afterwards. She shook her head. She raised her eyes to look at Eve.
The other woman was looking intently at her. "I have never seen him react this violently before. You know about his trust issue right? And his strong feelings for you don’t help either. I know how you feel about him too so as much as possible don't give him reasons to get jealous."
She heaved a sigh. She couldn't tell Eve that she finally agreed to be Blake’s woman. She would tell Stacey for sure.
" I am trying." she said.
Then they heard knocks."
We will continue our talk later." Eve told her. She opened the door. A grim face Blake was behind the door. His eyes were like fireballs. He was breathing heavily.
"Blake! What did you do to Axle?! Can't you stop being so damn violent?!" Eve sounded really annoyed.
He didn’t react to that. "Leave us! I want to talk to Heather" He said chillingly while his eyes were on her.
"NO! The three of us will talk!” Eve’s voice sounded firm.
Blake brushed his hair with his hand as if exasperated. "Can you just back off a bit Eve?! I want to talk to my girlfriend alone!" he rasped.
Heather put her hand on her mouth. Now his cousin knew the truth about them.
"YOUR WHAT??" Eve shrieked.
He just ignored her. He entered the room and took her arm. "That asshole said that he kissed you! Is that true?!!" He angrily asked.
She swallowed. Axle stole a kiss from her before but it was nothing because she quickly moved away from him . His lips barely touched her cheek. She was looking at Blake with her eyes wide.
"S-Sweetheart...i-it wasn't really a kiss..." she started to explain but he cut her when he kicked the chair she was sitting on a while ago.
Eve and Pauline made a sound of surprise while Heather's lips trembled.
