Ohh okay!! But I have a gift for you". He lets out, strolling into the bathroom.
I waited as he walked out of the bathroom, holding a dress and a mask.
"This is for the masquerade party," he says to me.
"You got me a dress for the party? Why?". I asked back with a pending question, thus he proceeds further, "because, as I said, I want to make sure that the remaining days left with me are memorable, and please, make sure to get beautifully dressed".
Unfrozen and walked out of the room.
I felt guilty, seeing such kindness, Indeed I'll be a bad person if, I allow his wicked uncle to get what he wants, and no matter how much I hate Mr. Smith, I wouldn't let, anything happen to Darren.
"I have got to do something?" I contemplated to myself.
(Masquerade ball, 9:00 pm)
I strolled down to the ballroom, wearing the dress gifted to me, my eyes soared further and took notice of Darren chatting with some friends, while behind him was uncle Kevin, who shots me a devilish smile.
He kept a close watch on me and no matter how much I try to avoid him, he ends up appearing in front of me.
"Hello, Karol!! Going somewhere?".
My feet were frozen to a spot, swiftly I turned and concedes with my word, "hello uncle Kevin and yes!! I was going to say, hello to Darren". I answered back.
"Nice!!! And please, don't even think of doing anything stupid, I'll be watching".
He walks past mating the same look on his face.
And the second he left, the one I wished to speak with, dragged me to a secluded spot,
"Darren!! What are you doing?" I said as he fills up the distance between us, he shoots a warm smile and cutely blinked his eyes at me.
He says, "nothing, I just wanted to see your face".
"See my face? Darren? Are you drunk" smiles at him
He copies the smile I had on, "of cause not, I am not drunk but, I feel like doing something naughty with you".
I watched, as he moved his head forward, and swiftly nailed my head to the wall, the tension gradually builds up between us, I could feel my heart bulging fast, but unfortunately, Ravi walked in and saw us in a compromising position.
She says, "oh wow!! This is lovely". Devils smile at us.
Darren moved a step away from me and veers his head aside, "am sorry!! Do you need anything mom". He asked her, "no!! But I think, I need you now, after seeing this, please come with me".
(They both walked out and left me behind)
An hour's later, the masquerade ball started, guests beautifully dressed up and after some time, the atmosphere changed, and the couples were asked to dance with each other.
I stood there and suddenly felt a hand, ran through and veers me to infer Darren's charming look on his face.
"What gives Mr. Darren?" I smiled and looked as he dragged me to the dance floor.
Everyone cutely gazed at us, I saw the loving gaze in his eyes, and trust me, I felt like he was trying to speak to me with his eyes.
The procession moved on quietly until the lights went off, my hand kept holding unto him (Darren), and while trying to understand what was going on, I was intentionally nudged away from Darren and pulled forward by a strange hand.
The voice says, "what exactly are you doing? Did I ask you to dance with your target?
