The following day, after the elapse of the one month I had left, we returned home, and not once did Darren alter a word to me, his silence was Killing me, deep down.
I walked into the room and saw him seated in the room, quietly watched as I walked over to the wardrobe.
"Hold on Karol, let's talk?".
My feet froze and I turned to see him holding a document in his hand.
"What's this?" I asked and got a hold of the documents in his hands.
I read thoroughly and saw it was a divorce paper, which he had already signed and was left me too.
Darren says, "please, sign the divorce papers and make sure it's done before the end of today". Unfrozen and left the room.
My heart broke into a million pieces, as I watched him walked away, what can I say? Who will help me? I asked myself when Mr. Smith strolls in, as he gained the notice of what had just happened.
He says, "Mrs. Jackie!! Can we talk".
I lifted my head and saw him ambling further, my mouth weaved up to speak, rather he shuts me up by tearing the documents in my hand.
"Sir? Why did do this?" I asked.
"What do you mean? Why won't i and I believe we should end this tension between you both once and for all".
He takes me out of the room and straight to the living room, "Darren!! Son, come out here?".
Darren slowly strolls downstairs and met me standing next to his father, "what's going on dad and please if you called me here to talk about this, this she-devil, I am sorry, I won't".
Mr. Smith, Immediately dragged him by his ears, "seriously son!! Don't you wanna listen to me and please, don't think I will stop holding unto your ear".
Out of this comfort, Darren finally gives In to his father's demands, "yes dad!! I'll listen but please stop dragging my ears".
He lets go and previewed his words again, "son!! I called you here to talk about, your wife, Karol, I think you divorcing her is a huge mistake".
"Dad!! A mistake? Did you forget that this lady in question, tried to murder you in cold blood, and yet, pretended that nothing happened? Did you expect me not to do anything". Darren's words plunged into my heart, like a spare.
"Look son, I do know what she did was wrong, but don't blame her, she only thought I was the culprit, who murdered her parents and I am sure, if you were in her shoes, you will do the same thing".
Both father and son, discussed with each other, Mr. Smith tried too hard to change his son's mind but Darren was as stubborn as a mule, he refused to give in to his demands and angrily let out to me.
"Miss she-devil, no matter how hard you try to mend what is already broken, you can't and please, get out of my life, my family, and I wish you could just die and leave forever".
(The moment he said that a gunshot was fired and it was aimed at me, as they saw me on the floor, bleeding).
"Karol!!!" He rushed to my aid and tried to stop the blood I was shot at.
Mr. Smith called an ambulance and after a while, they came and drove me to the city hospital, Ravi had no option but to inform aunt what happened and immediately, drove to the hospital.
"Oh my goodness, where is my daughter?" Aunt drops and illuminates a caustic soda look on her face.
As they all saw her eyes over to the emergency room.
