Thea's Point of View
I spoke in the middle of our stillness. “I’d like to eat an apple with ketchup, Megan.” I became salivating, simply thinking about dipping the apple in the ketchup. I gazed out the window as if out of my head, waiting for her to answer so I could buy what I wanted to eat.
She groaned and stamped her foot, clearly annoyed. “I TOLD HIM NOT TO SHOOT INSIDE, BUT YOUR COUSIN-IN-LAW IS VERY HORNY!!” I shielded my ears as she screamed in the vehicle.
“Hey! Your baby!” I softly smacked her arm. I’m worried anything may happen to her kid since she moves so hastily!
I came out when she was having a fit. I want to eat apples with ketchup. I got off her car right away and took a cab so I wouldn’t have to say goodbye to that insane woman. I texted Rayleigh while I was riding.
“We are at the **** Hospital.”
I know Megan hasn’t left yet since she’s still toying with her brain, presumably because she hasn’t digested the fact that she’s pregnant yet. I simply want Rayleigh to be aware.
I went to the market pretty quickly and purchased six apples and ketchup. I just know that Craig came into the office today, and since I can’t do anything else, I’ll just go there. Also, that desperate woman may return.
Once inside the company, I immediately asked the receptionist where Craig was. He said he was in his office, so I immediately pressed the floor number button in the elevator. I met his secretary just after the elevator opened. She smiled at me and greeted me.
“Mrs. Holden, just wait inside Mr. Holden's office because he is in the board meeting now.” She helped me in and took my bag.
Because I was a little in need, I let her. I immediately sat down in Craig’s swivel chair and put the apples and ketchup on his table.
The secretary was still wondering about what I was carrying, but I just smiled at her and requested a container.
“Does Craig have a bowl and a knife?”
“Please, Mrs. Holden, give me a second.” She went right away, and I think she returned in less than two minutes with the items I had asked from her. She also said her goodbyes straight away. When I peeled the apple, I sliced it and ate it rapidly; I finished one apple quickly, so I peeled the second.
The door swung open as I was doing it. I assumed Craig had entered, but I was mistaken.
When Felicity noticed who was seated in Craig’s swivel chair, her smile rapidly faded.
I kept peeling the apple and ignored Felicity. I noticed her standing still in front of me. I’m monitoring what I’m doing. I’m chopping the apple right now. After a time, and she still didn’t move her gaze away from me, I said something.
“My husband did not say that he had an uninvited guest. Why does it look like your visit here was sudden and unannounced?” I let go of the small knife and laid it on the table. I took a slice of apple, dipped it in ketchup, then looked up at her. I saw that the mouthful I did stunned her.
“What brings you here? Where is Craig?” She gripped her shoulder bag more tightly. What she is wearing now is a black skirt that will reveal her underwear if she moves. It is paired with emerald sleeveless shirts. It appears to be backless.
I couldn’t let go and stop eating the apple, no matter how much I wanted to. However, my ear was hurting because of her question. I let go of the apple and reached inside my purse for a moist tissue. “Are there still homewreckers like that today? Doesn’t know how to be ashamed and even inquire of the legal wife about the whereabouts of her husband?”
I took up the little knife. When I was fiddling with it with my fingers, she glanced up. “Are you familiar with those mistresses who gets bald, Felicity? I’ve been watching videos about dragging mistresses since I met you. It is how they pull a lot of hair and disgrace them on the street or in the market.”
She grinned and raised an eyebrow at me. She assumed I was kidding. I still don’t want to think about my food. It would have been nice if she had arrived after I had done eating; I could still have been in the mood. I continued, then glanced at her blankly. I rose, walked up to her. I’m still standing beside the table, and caressed my stomach.
“The only problem is that the kid in my belly will be born. That’s too much trouble.”
As she stood, her eyes widened, and she straightened up. The face grew pale, and the look was incomprehensible. Her eyes were filled with a mix of apprehension, disbelief, and rage. When I abruptly stab the knife into Craig’s table, she leaped even more.
“As a response, I will not disgrace the lady who will destroy my family. I’m going to stab her with this knife I’m carrying and bury it till she’s out of the blood.” I gave her a big smile, but it was an unfriendly one. There was no sign of amusement or rage.
“Are you threatening me?”
“If you feel like that; then I am.”
She couldn’t say anything and stared at me cruelly. She tightened her grasp on the shoulder bag and fixed her eye on me. We were barely adjusting our sight when the door burst open. We both saw the secretary as we looked over there.
“Oh! Please accept my apologies. Mrs. Holden, Mr. Holden, ask me to tell you to wait for him until his meeting was finished, and then you both returned home together." She bowed and fled out the door after saying that. Probably, she picked up on Felicity and my aura.
I leaned back in my swivel chair. And ate some more. I don’t have to ignore her anymore when she suddenly speaks out, and I can feel the venom in her words. I’m not sure if I should be afraid or simply let her do what she says.
“You’re going to pay for this, Thea! We’re not done yet!” When she stated that, she instantly went, while I merely shrugged my shoulders.
Craig walked in just as I completed what I was eating. He removed his necktie, as though he was exhausted and overheated in the office where they were meeting. He approached me and peered at me with his drowsy eyes when he noticed me at his table. I would have advised him to relax first, and that we’d be leaving soon. He came up to me and stood up. It has irritated me with him since he stole my chair, but he suddenly had me sit on his lap and then hugged me from behind.
“Are you finished eating?” As he questioned me, his voice was a little hoarse. And I think it’s sexy. My hair stood on the edge, especially as his hot breath struck my ear.
“Yeah.”
I yawned immediately and seemed to want to sleep all day. I wasn’t always like this. And I’m not sure what I told Felicity about the baby yet; it may be a false alarm, so I don’t want to inform Craig first. I was also wondering if he would still like it or be OK with it. I don’t want to catch him off guard.
“Are you tired?” He took his chin off my shoulder and reclined back in his swivel chair. After that, he leaned me against his body, as though I were slowly swallowing sleepiness, till I couldn’t answer him and eventually fell asleep.
I just woke up with the urge to puke all over again. When I opened my eyes, we were in the car, Craig’s coat draped around me.
Perhaps I became dizzy as either a result of the car’s motion. He can’t see that my eyes are open, and he continues to stare straight ahead.
I arose from my sleep and straightened my clothes. He stared at me and then combed my hair. He spoke once he had done.
“I need to discuss Felicity’s action with her and mama.”
“Hmm. Why?” It never occurred to me he would open this topic to me.
“Earlier, my secretary informed me she had returned to my office. If she continues, it will be detrimental to our relationship, and I don’t want it to be a cause to end it.”
I couldn’t respond to what he said. I know Felicity and him have been together for a long time, and I don’t appear to be in a position to prevent him from communicating with her, but if that’s his decision, I’ll be glad. Felicity’s interaction with me is becoming increasingly strained, and I’m scared it will be the reason to end my relationship with Felicity.
“That is your choice. Whatever you decide, I will always accept as much as I am able.”
