"If I were you, I would swallow my pride and just call him,"
Natalie said getting on her bed, Nicole pushed her away and got off the bed, she went to sit on her dressing chair and faced her sister who got back on the bed.
"I don't have pride and I am not calling anyone,"
She responded. She wasn't going to do it.
"Yeah, this is the second week that you haven't heard anything from him after the way he showered you with attention for two weeks, I would be surprised if you didn't miss him so I understand, just call him already, you know you want to,"
"I don't know what you are talking about Natalie, I don't miss anyone and I am not calling anyone, don't try to show what isn't there, I am too busy to spend my time thinking about it missing someone,"
"Keep telling yourself that Cole, honestly, at this rate you might lose this man and end up regretting it, he is trying to make up for what happened, we are human and we make mistakes, realizing those mistakes and retaking our steps to fix it is not usually easy and a lot of people tend to chicken out but for the few who have the courage to, they deserve a second chance, all I am saying is Rafael deserves a second chance and even you know that you were happier when he was around you and giving you his full attention than you are now,"
Natalie said.
"You said all this and yet you don't get the point? I was getting used to it, I was slowly adapting to him being around me but then he disappears and hasn't shown his face for two weeks and you expect me to take him seriously?"
Nicole asked in reply, this wasn't about forgiving him, this was about him playing with her feelings all over again.
"You told him to stay away, you told him not to show up in front of you, when he comes around you, you ignore him, he is not a kid Nicole, yes he might want to do anything to get you back but if he keeps facing rejection don't you think he will stay away? Put yourself in his shoes for a moment, if you repeatedly got snubbed would you keep going there?"
"I didn't ignore him as you think, I accepted his gift, I let him come see me, and heck I told you I let him kiss me,"
Nicole replied she didn't like that her twin was blaming everything on her.
"Girl, the kiss? You said it yourself that you slapped him after that, and that was even at the beginning, tell me for all those times he was around did you let him come any close to you? A hug? Any physical touch?"
She asked.
"No, none, okay fine, I am to blame for him staying away, let's just leave it at that,"
Nicole said her voice rising beyond how she had anticipated it too.
"No one is blaming you, Cole, I am just saying, if he didn't call, did you try calling him? Do you know if he is alright? He has a huge business to run and you don't think that's what is taking his time and why he hadn't come to see you? If you think about it logically, there are a lot of reasons he might not have time for those and your text or call would have fixed whatever neglect you are facing right now, working out the relationship shouldn't be from his side alone, you should take some steps too, he isn't the only one in this you are too not to mention you haven't even told him about little yet and very soon you can't hide her anymore, don't you think he will feel bad if he finds out you have been keeping this from him?"
Nicole kept quiet at her sister's questions, all the questions she asked, all the points she raised were valid, too valid for Nicole to contradict, she couldn't even do that, Natalie was right, she should have called to find out when she didn't hear from you for three whole days now it was two weeks and nothing from him even from the internet, it was as if he disappeared from the face of the Earth.
"You see, even you know everything I am saying is right,"
She said when Nicole didn't say a word, she was going to cry if she as much as opened her mouth to say anything, damn her hormones for messing with her.
"I know,"
She cloaked. Yup the tears did spill out as she had suspected.
"Oh, God, I didn't mean to make you cry Nicole, I am sorry,"
Natalie apologized, Nicole shook her head.
"It's not your fault, it's my damn hormones, making me unnecessarily emotional,"
She said still crying.
"I should not laugh but I really want to laugh right now, but in a serious note Cole, call him, if you don't I might go and seduce him and marry him so that you will get jealous,"
Her sister threatened.
"Do you think we can be happy again? Do you think Rafael and I can be truly happy? This won't be our first time but our second, I am scared of making the same mistake again, once is enough,".
"Those are your fears talking, I should ask you, would you be happy alone? Let's say you tell him about little and you guys become co-parents and then he ends up finding someone else since you are too scared of failing again, what would you do? You can't cut him out of your life because little is already a bond holding you guys so if he moves on you will be there, will you not regret it then?"
Natalie asked. She couldn't imagine Rafael being with another woman, even the thought of it made her jealous.
"I can't do that,"
She whispered wiping her tears.
"Then you have to woman up and call him,"
"I am not sure, but I will try,"
She replied. What will she tell him when she calls him? Tell him that she was ready to be with him because she knew she wanted to do that.
"Good, on a side note I miss Grace so much Aron is not even doing anything to make me miss her less."
Natalie complained. Natalie, she took revenge on Nicole by taking her friends, Aron was her go-to buddy now for anything, last week, when she had left her at the club, Aron had called her the next morning to tell her Natalie was at his place, he had been the one she called when she was done at the club, Nicole suspected there was more to their meeting because they got closer after that but since they weren’t saying anything yet, she felt it would be nice to let them be, as for Grace, she was stuck in Boston because of school and she has been singing on Nicole's ears that she might drop out.
"You and Aron got really close,"
She voiced.
"Yeah, he is cool,"
"Anything else that you might want me to know?"
"No, nothing, nothing is going on with Aron and me, at least not yet, but just so you know I like him a lot more than I thought,"
"Ohhhhhhhh, I like the sound of that,"
She replied. She wanted everyone around her to be happy.
"What about you? Don't you want to be happy?"
The voice in her head asked.
"Yes, I want to,"
She whispered in response, she decided she would talk to Rafael tomorrow, not on the phone, she would go over to his house after work tomorrow...
