“We are not sure about my condition, and considering what the doctor said. I don’t want to tell her and something happens then it would break her heart. I want my mama to be happy and healthy, any little thing could cost her health”
She sobbed in her palm and Audriana wished she was there to hug her and tell her everything would turn out fine and she doesn’t need to worry about anything.
“I am assuming Max knows nothing about it,” she said and Sofia nods with her face still in her palm.
“Look at me Sof” Sofia looked at her with her face stained with tears and more still pouring from her eyes.
Her eyes were puffy from the crying and she wiped her face with the back of her hand and took a tissue to clean her nose.
“Nothing is going to happen to you. I can't tell you to not believe what the doctor said but I want you to believe you and your baby will be fine and that nothing will happen to you both,” she said and Sofia nods.
“I believe there is a GOD out there who will hear our prayers and make you both fine, my bestie and niece or nephew will be fine. You will give birth to this baby without any stress and everything will turn out good, okay?”
Sofia nodded.
“Let’s just keep our hope alive and going, GOD will make a way, I believe that”
“Okay, thank you”
“Let Liliana know about the baby, you can leave out the danger part for the sake of her health. You know how your mum worry a lot about things?” she nodded.
“Let her know, who knows it could improve her health a great deal” she smiled.
“You are right, I will let her know, thank you Audri”
“Don’t ever thank me, we are sisters and ‘for better for worse’” they said their usual motto and giggled.
“I wish I could hug you now,” she said wiping the tears from her face.
“Oh babe, don’t worry. I will be home soon, okay?”
“Yes mama”
“I don’t want a crying woman looking at me. I want to see that smiley beauty looking straight at me” she said and Sofia laughed.
“Stop… I have Max” she hid her face in her palm like she was a shy little teenager getting wooed by her long-time crush.
“Oh come on, I have Dimitri, right?”
“Yeah” she giggled and continued eating her chips. “Do you care for some?” she asked her and showed her the content.
“Really?”
“At least I was courteous enough to ask you” she rolled her eyes.
“Whatever, and before I forget Max needs to know about what the doctor found out”
“Yeah, I will tell him”
“So if she didn’t tell you to tell me, you wouldn’t want to tell me?” they heard a male voice say and both froze looking at each other before Sofia’s gaze went to the owner of the voice.
“Sho-”
“I will call you later,” she said disconnecting the call.
“I hope they sort this thing out,” Audriana said to herself and closed her laptop then kept it on the small table and continued packing.
After about thirty minutes of making sure everything was packed and sorted she picked up her phone to book an early morning flight. When she was done she felt hungry and wore some comfortable cloth to go eat outside.
Just as she got out of her room, she heard footsteps coming in her direction and turned to see it was Daniella walking towards her in quick steps but later slowed down when Audriana looked in her direction.
“Hi Daniella, how are you today?” she asked with a smile.
“Good evening to you too Audriana, I am good thank you. How about you?” she asked and she nods.
“I am fine thank you” Audriana answered putting her phone and key card in her pocket.
“I assume you want to grab something to eat?” Daniella asked.
“Oh yes, I am starving and could eat an entire horse at this moment,” she said rubbing her stomach and Daniella let out a burst of outrageous laughter.
‘Weird’ she thought as she watched her calm down from the laughing.
“Sorry, I found that phrase funny”
“No, it's fine. I will see you later” she said starting to leave when Daniella stopped her with a strong grip on her wrist.
She immediately yanked her hand away from the grip and gave her a questioning look.
“Oh… er… I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to hold you in such a manner. I just wanted to ask if I could accompany you.” she said looking scared.
Audriana studied her for a while and frowned a bit at how tight her grip was on her wrist and she rubbed it.
“I am sorry if you are hurt by the grip, I am weird and… and I don’t know. Maybe that is why I don’t have friends” she said bowing her head down and letting a tear slip from her eyes.
Feeling bad that she might have made the lady feel that way, she gently took hold of her hand making her look at her then she wiped her face from the tears.
“You don’t need to cry, you are not weird,” she said and offered her a handkerchief. “I am not mad at you, I was just surprised a lady had that sort of grip”
She cleaned her face and tried to hide the smile that wanted to come on her face.
“Only my bestie has that kind of grip”
“You mean Sofia?” it slipped out of her mouth and she widened her eyes when she saw Audriana look at her strangely.
“Sorry, did you just say Sofia? How did you know?”
“Er… sorry, I did know a Sofia that had such kind of grip and thought your kind of Sofia did”
“Er… okay, coincidence I guess”
“Yeah, so can we go now?”
“Sure,” she said and they went to the elevator.
‘Behave, Daniella, you need to make her trust you, don’t mess this up’ her head told her and she let a smile stay on her face to cover it up.

She was in her hotel room that evening watching a T.V series while laying down on the bed. Then her phone rang, rolled on the bed to grab it from the bedside table then checked the caller to see Sofia’s name on the screen.
She slid the answer button and place it on her ear wanting to ask about she explained to Max about the complications.
“Hello Sof, how are you? Were you able to te-”
“Audri this is Max, something just happened and Sofia needs you now, can you come?” he said and she frowned then switched off the T.V as she sat up on the bed.
Then she realized he sounded a bit panicked and like he was trying to keep it all in.
“Is she fine? Is the baby fine? What happened?” she asked already panicking.
“Can you just come now? She wouldn’t talk to anybody and… I don’t know” he said with a sigh.
“Okay, I will book another flight for this evening then”
“No need for that, Dimitri already sent his private jet to pick you up, just get to the airport before nine,” he told her and she nodded.
“Okay, I will” she immediately hung up and took her already packed bag then went to check out of the hotel and took a taxi to the airport hoping that her best friend is okay and well.
