Now they were back to each of their respective works.
Him in the office while she is at home working online and giving her students online video lessons.
It was just a few days ago that they went on that their little relaxing adventure which she enjoyed very much ignoring the fact that she almost made a scene out of what she couldn’t remember.
She was embarrassed she hit him without a valid reason and what made her feel worse was that Dimitri never acknowledged it and just let it slid away like nothing ever happened.
When they left the park, he took her to the beach and said it is a way to calm all their senses and told her how he sometimes comes here when he feels over-stressed and would want a break from the world.
And it did prove his point a lot as she was able to relieve some stress and calm her mind and body.
He lay on the blanket with his hands behind his head while she lay beside him then scooted closer to him and placed her head and palm on his chest feeling the rise and fall of his chest.
One of his arms automatically went over her shoulder and they lay there in silence, looking at the sky as it goes dark.
“Peaceful?” he asked and she took her head from laying on his chest to look at him but he had his eyes closed.
He looked so fine and peaceful like there was nothing he has to worry about then she wondered if there was a time he didn’t look this good.
When he has his eyes opened he is so good-looking and you could see the worry, frustration, and annoyance in his features but when he has his eyes closed he looked great and without worry.
She didn’t answer instead she looked away from him and sat up then drew her knees to meet with her jaw and rested the side of her face on her knee before looking back at him and this time his eyes were opened looking in her direction.
She was a bit startled and took her gaze away from his to the beach. That time it was already dark and some of the visitors had started going while some just arrived.
Then she saw a small family that consists of the husband, his expecting wife, and their little daughter that would be around the age of four or five.
She smiled at the sight and remembered how she would write the names she would give her kids in her journal and wanted her first baby to be a girl.
She wanted to one day find love in a man that would understand her and she would understand, someone that would share in her dreams and she can share in his, someone that would love her and she can love.
Her parent's marriage was the guide she wanted to follow to have a successful marriage. A happy one.
She wanted to marry for love, not for convenience.
They are on talking terms at the moment and still civil with each other but for how long will it last till they go back to not talking and just acknowledging each other’s presence with greetings and nothing more.
‘But you knew what you were getting yourself into before going in’ her senses reminded her and she suddenly felt sad.
This isn't what she wanted, not some moody man that talks to her whenever he feels like not being a jerk or when he is bored and can't seem to find anyone to talk to. Not this at all.
She let out a sigh and closed her eyes feeling a rush of emotions go through her then told herself not to cry. She can't cry over a man that doesn't regard her but what happened earlier proved her wrong all along.
He might be annoying and self-absorbed but his actions proved that he cares and respects her. She tried not to put too much meaning into it and just see it as some regular guy who suddenly respects a woman.
Aiden, Caleb, and Philip did respect her even though two out of the trio did show some interest in her.
‘He doesn't like me, he just respects me’ she told herself and tried to calm her ranging heart and suppress the feeling gushing through her entire being.
She lay the side of her head on her knee still closing her eyes and felt her lip quiver.
A finger slid from her eyelid to her nose and she opened her eyes to see Dimitri sitting up he was really close to her. He had a little furrow on his brows and looked at her eyes then her lips back to her eyes. It was his finger that wiped the tears she didn’t know fell from her eyes.
She raised her head up and cleaned her face with her palm.
“Why are you crying?” he asked and she shook her head no then closed her eyes.
She was crying but couldn’t explain her reasons to him. The teas just kept falling and he wiped every single tear that dropped.
“What is wrong? You didn’t enjoy today?” he asked and she shook her head no.
No, to tell him not to get it the wrong way but to also tell him she is more relaxed than she has been in months but no words came aside the tears that kept trailing down her cheeks.
“Did, did I say or do something to have offended you?” he asked and she opened her tear-filled eyes to look into his worried-looking ones.
“No” she whispered shaking her head.
He held her face with both of his palms on each of her cheeks then wiped her cheeks again.
“Look at me” he whispered.
Slowly she looked at him and sniffed a bit.
“Stop crying, okay?” he whispered and she nodded.
Then slowly he leaned in and she closed her eyes waiting for what was going to happen. There was no time to think if she was going to fall for him or not.
She was just going to go with the flow and if she falls for him along the line then she would know she was able to experience it with a man that respects and cares for her but she hopes he likes her back, even if it is just a bit.
“So, you guys did kiss? Again?” Sofia asked taking her out of her gaze.
She shook her head, trying to get the events of that short moment they had out of her mind. It just kept on playing again and again and she wanted it to stop.
It was like the more she didn’t want to think about it, it creeps into her head and that’s all she could think of.
How can just a short intimate moment get her so hooked? They did nothing aside from kissing and cuddling. Nothing more, then why?
While she was growing up, she heard from some people in school that only when a man and woman who feels for each other get really intimate, like really intimate that is when they get really hooked to each other.
She did see how her parents looked at each other and when she would sometimes walk in on them kissing she would see the blush on both their faces.
But could this be their case right now? Or could be just her case since Dimitri looks as he was before like nothing deep happened between them.
She wants to think she was overthinking things and putting too much meaning into what they shared. It was just a kiss but it meant more than anything to her.
It wasn’t her first kiss from him but it does feel like it is every time they shared one.
“Yeah, and I can't stop thinking about it. It just keeps replaying in my mind like a broken tape and each time it plays I could feel the warmness in my heart. That feeling of joy and contentment” she replied.
Sofia’s brows were in a little frown as she looked as if she was lost in her thoughts.
“You told me that you had a little crush on him” she started.
“Yes, I do have a crush on him” Audriana confirmed.
“Well, dear sister, let me tell you the truth. I think your ‘little crush’ for my cousin has turned into a full-blown like. I mean a really big like a gigantic like, an enormous li-”
“I get the point Sof” she cuts her off with a bit of a frown.
“Okay,” she looked at her friend from the screen of her laptop.
“Is it bad?” she asked after a while.
“Oh babe, no. Don’t ever think it is bad. We are humans with feelings, so don’t feel bad or see it as something bad when we fell for someone, okay?” Sofia said to her.
“Look, we all have our fantasy and who we wish to fall in love with. Sometimes we end up falling for our picture-perfect significant other while most times we find ourselves falling for the total opposite of that picture-perfect someone,” she explains.
“In all, we felt and that is important. He might not be the one you wish to fall for but don’t feel bad at all. At least you felt for him and I can have my peace” she said and let out a dramatic sigh of relief.
“What do you mean by that?” Audriana asked a bit irritated.
“Oh, don’t look at me like that. I thought you would never like someone or even fall in love with anyone that isn't your family, me, and your work” she commented.
“Oh, whatever, and I don’t love Dimitri” she rolled her eyes.
They kept looking at each other before Audriana spoke after a while.
“So what do I do?”
“Do? Please babe feel, let it flow”
“What if… what if he doesn't reciprocate this feeling I have for him?” she asked.
“I do hope he does, but if he doesn't… then we will know you loved someone that cares about you but not in the way you want him to but at least. It is better to let it flow than let your first love be in denial” she said.
“It's like you are in my head every single time, that was what I concluded on”
“Then so be it, remember if he does break your heart you know whose nose will get broken by my baby’s cot,” she said with a wink.
“I love you Sof”
“I love you more woman” she blew her a kiss and then ended the call since they had to get back to other things.
Only the future can tell what will happen.
