She felt something close to her then shuffled a bit and turned to the other side then used her behind to push it forgetting what or who was beside her.
“Hmm… move already” she pushed some more and felt shuffling then a groan.
Like a flash, she opened her eyes and sat up then looked around and remembered where she was at.
The hospital.
Then she felt more shuffling behind her and more groans of pain followed. She turned around and saw Dimitri with his eyes closed and a look of discomfort on his face as he moved his good arm like he was trying to get a comfortable spot.
She immediately got down from the bed and adjust the clothes then watched him closely.
His face still had that look of discomfort but his eyes were still closed. He turned his left and then to the right then tried to open his eyes but couldn’t. His head stayed straight facing the ceiling before gradually he opened his eyes and started breathing fast.
“O-o-oh-oh my GOD Dimitri.” she held his face as her eyes water with tears of joy. “You-you’re awake. Thank GOD” she sobbed but it was short-lived by his continuous heavy breathing.
“Wh-what is going on? Ho-hold on, I will get the nurse now,” she said and pressed the emergency button close to the bed and waited for them to come and examine him.
He was still breathing fast and heavily and his eyes closes and opened at intervals as groans of pain erupt out of his lips.
“Oh, hmm..” he was able to mutter as she tries to calm him down.
“Just hold on for a whi-”
Then the door burst opened cutting her off and in came the doctor and the nurse with Aiden standing by the door looking like he was going to going to pass out with how sleepy he looked.
The nurse turned to her and tapped her shoulder making her gaze settle on the petite woman.
“Please you will have to leave now,” she said and Audriana’s eyes went to the back of the doctor who was attending to Dimitri and she was able to catch a glimpse of him.
The oxygen mask had been removed already and his eyes were slightly ajar so were his lips. A tear fell down her cheek as she looked back at the nurse who was escorting her out of the room.
“Please stay outside, we will get back to you soon,” the nurse said and closed the door to her face.
She swallowed the lump in her throat as she kept looking at the door close to her. Her eyes gathered enough tears and they fell one after the other. She wasn’t aware of that, her main concern at the moment was making sure Dimitri was safe and sound.
She felt a finger rub her both cheeks and turned to the owner of those fingers to see Aiden looking at her with worry and a sad smile displaying on his face.
She touched her cheeks and felt that it was wet then cleaned her face with the back of her hand and sniffed.
“Dont cry okay? He is good” he said engulfing her in a tight hug and she willingly accepted it.
“I pray so, I pray so” she muttered.

She turned from looking out the window and the wine cup in her hand stopped mid-air from going to her lips and the smile on her face disappeared.
“What are you doing here?” she asked him.
“Er, I wanted to… er… te- tell you something important” he began then scratched the back of his neck and looked away from the woman that terrifies his entire being.
He didn’t know what grudge she held against that person but he couldn’t go on with it. He wants it to stop, since he wouldn't be able to stop her evil deeds he might as well stop working for her.
She walked to the table in between her bed and sofa then put the glass cup down before turning to him and managed to let a smile play on her lips.
“Okay, tell me what you came here to tell me at this time of the day when I didn’t request your presence,” she states with that same smile playing on her lips.
By the words that rolled out of her mouth, he knew she wasn’t in any way pleased with his sudden appearance at her place without prior notice. That alone told him to shut up and not say whatever he came here for and just continue to let her do her evil deeds.
“Er… ma’am, I would like for you to er… I- er…” he paused then closed his eyes and let out a huge breath of air before opening them to tell her what got him tongue-tied “I don’t want to work for you anymore”
She smiled even more and turned around to carry her wine to finish it up then placed it back before turning back to look at him. She looked at him from the crown of his head to the sole of his feet then let out a loud laugh.
He was confused with her reactions to what he just told her. She was an aggressive person and would never let anyone off the hook easily. So she laughing, like he told her an old joke made him confused whether that was a good sign or not.
After a moment of hysterical laughing, she stopped then walked up to him slowly and this time the smile on her face wasn’t there anymore.
He felt his body tremble at that, his palms were sweating and his knees felt like they will give away soon. That was the problem, he doesn’t know what power she possess to have people terrified and tremble before her.
She is nothing but human. ‘But not the kind of human you want to mess with’ he reminded himself and took in deep breaths then let it out slowly.
When she was a foot closer to him she sized him up again and looked at him straight in the eye.
“No one who works for me can easily get out of my employment. I am a hard person and would go to any length to make sure such person is dealt with and brought back to work for me,” she said then closed the gap between them.
“I am the one who can discard you humanos en mal estado, and whenever I want to and not be questioned, or that person dies.” she went on her tippy toes and leaned in till she was close to his ear “Estoy claro?”
“Si” he replied and she leaned back then smiled back and placed her hands on both shoulders and patted them before turning towards her bed and sitting on it.
“Now, if you don’t have any useful thing to say to me, get out,” she said.
He looked at her hard then sighed before leaving her room with a troubled heart.

She took in deep breaths and put the visor mirror down to check her appearance and sighed again for the millionth time. She didn’t know why she was feeling this way, could be because of a certain idiot. An idiot she was going to meet now.
Hours ago when the doctors came in to check him and assured them he was okay and fully awake so they can have their chit-chat.
She remembers jumping on Aiden who wasn’t expecting that but he was quick to stable the both of them so they don’t start to treat a concussion because of a certain someone.
She immediately started calling her parents and Dimitri’s parents to let them know of the good news but Aiden said he will continue to call them that she should go see him and they should talk before everyone start coming in to see the man.
Like he said. ‘The man’
When she got in the room she saw him looking at the T.V that was showing news about a robbery attack in the north and other stories.
He looked fine now, the mask was gone but was replaced with the nasal cannula and he was half lying, half sitting then his face would contour in pain whenever he moved.
He still had a bandage around his head and it looked like it was newly dressed.
Taking deep breaths in and out, she walked further into the room and got his attention in the process. He took in her appearance and tilted his head to the side.
No form of emotion playing on his face.
“Hey,” she said and came closer to him.
He still kept looking at her and noticed some bags under her eyes and her eyes a bit puffed. The clothes she had on seemed crumpled and like she hadn’t changed yet or had a bath.
He definitely knows when she had her bath and is wearing a clean cloth. It might be creepy but no one would miss that refreshing strawberry smell from her when she had her bath.
Her puffy eyes could mean she didn’t get enough sleep or she could have been crying.
Why would she cry? And for him?
