Sydney Marin Chapter 81

Sydney’s POV: “If that’s what you have decided. I decided to stay here till the time comes for her death. I can’t wait for it,” Dorothy smirked. She is so optimistic that I will lose no matter what. Iam not ready to give her any attention. Two days can change many things. Forty eight hours from tomorrow. First of all, I need a watch to know the time. I can’t identify the time from this dark red sky which will always be the same. After some minutes, we got two more keys for two rooms to stay in these two days. I started to feel the fear inside me after I left the hall. Kassidy gave me a watch and told me how the time differs here. It will be midnight soon. I can’t remember whether I slept or passed out in these days in prison. It’s a great relief that Iam out of the prison. She said ‘she was so confused in the beginning and can’t predict the right timings’. Now from what she had learned, it’s been a month since I reached hell. For them, it’s a day. I came to know that the portrait was broken into a million pieces. I can get anything I ever wanted if only I could win in the dual. No matter how strong Iam feeling, there’s a fear inside me that is telling me that I cannot win this dual. What happens if I die? Will I die after all the fights? “Take these keys, Humans,” Lydia told, throwing the room key to Mason and Phoebe. “You need to bring my life back in two days. Iam counting on it. I don’t want you to live but I need your life to get mine,” Phoebe told me before getting inside the room. “Don’t mind her. I don’t even need my life back. Do something to save yourself,” Mason told, caring for my life. “I will, Mason. I will be safe and bring your life back too. I promised you. Without you, I would have not escaped from the house. Thank you for everything. It’s time for me to return the favour,” I said. “I don’t care about my life. I have no reason to get my life back. But you have many reasons to live. I know I can’t help you with this. But I hope you win.” Mason patted my shoulder and left inside his room. I headed back to the room where Noah and I talked some minutes ago. “Let’s discuss how to solve this problem. We got two days. We have access all over this castle. We need to explore the castle and know more about hell and Lilith. We need to find how to defeat her and also someone needs to keep an eye on Dorothy. We may never know what plan she has in her mind.” Lydia started the conversation seriously. “I will get more information from the library to know about everything we need to know about Hell. I feel like Iam not good enough as a witch. I don’t even know that hell has a castle and rooms like this. It’s different from what I have studied.” Kassidy volunteered and complained about herself. “That’s not a problem. Once we use the library, we will have a clear idea. I believe that these forty-eight-hour will be enough for us. Now, Who’s ready to watch Dorothy?” “I will,” I heard two voices of the brothers. “I hope I won’t kill her as I did to Pamela,” Jacen muttered. “Noah said ‘you shot her’. Is it true, Jacen?” I asked as my face brightened and I frowned the next second. Pamela killed my aunt right in front of me. I will be glad if she’s dead. If not, I want to kill her by myself for what she had done. “We don’t know if she’s dead or not. It’s not important now. We all need to take a rest. We need rest to face what’s coming next,” Amelia wisely told. I know she always likes to rest a lot. But this is what we needed at this moment. “Right. Let’s talk tomorrow,” Lydia told and left the room with Kassidy. Noah and Amelia took the room next to my room. Jacen and I gazed into each other eyes when everyone’s gone. Depression is the only thing that filled the room. This silence will continue if we are not ready to start a conversation. “Do you trust me?” that’s the question I asked him blankly without mentioning what Iam talking about. “Are you willing to let me fight the Queen? Do you trust me that I can win in this?” I asked again. “Of course, I do. To be honest, Iam more scared than you could imagine. You don’t have a choice. I know I shouldn’t think of this. But I can’t keep it inside me. Even if you win this dual after many struggles, how will our life be?” “What do you mean? There will be no problem if I win this dual.” I gave a perplexed look. “Iam talking about the future. You are a witch. You can’t live forever like me. Going through these days without you was so hard. How can I live all my life without you? I can’t stop thinking about it, baby,” I sensed the fear in him. I never thought of it till now. It will be horrible that I can’t live young forever. How come I never thought of it? We love each other. I want this to continue forever. “Why did you say something like this? I didn’t think of it. I don’t want to be a mortal but there’s no solution for it. You should have kept your mouth shut, Jacen.” I shouted at him. “I don’t want that too, baby. It will be much difficult for me if you aren’t in my life. It affects me more than anything. I can’t stop that thought.” he complained, adding more pressure than we had before. I don’t want to grow this conversation. It’s better to forget everything for a while. “Iam going to stop the thoughts now,” I simply replied and pulled him to a kiss. I kissed him hard until I forgot all the worries inside. “I thought this moment will never come, baby” Jacen replied, followed by a passionate kiss.
