Sydney Marin Chapter 59

Sydney’s POV: “What’s the deal?” I raised my eyebrow. I know he want something back for helping me. He sharply inhaled and spoke. “I will help you to bring your guardian back alive... If only you can help me, get back into my life. I want to live,” “That’s... Don’t you know there will be many consequences for bringing back one life? How can I bring back two lives?” I asked with wide-open eyes. He’s insane. I don’t need to help a total stranger and bear the consequences for the rest of my life. “So what? Without my help, you will be tied up here forever. Iam helping you. Just return the favour, Sapphire.” he used my real name this time. It feels unfamiliar to me. “What about your sister and uncle?” he hesitated to answer my question. “Bring me back. That’s enough,” he said after a minute. “Selfish asshole. You want to leave your sister here and save yourself. What kind of brother are you? I can’t believe you came to Slateville to save your sister. I don’t believe it,” I spoke fast and I know this is none of my business. It’s none of my concern. “I can be selfish. Why is it bothering you? The fault lies in my sister. She got lost when she dumped her boyfriend, who loved her truly. But she doesn’t like good boys. Karma had an act of revenge on her for everything she had done. But what about me? I did nothing but try to save her. That’s where my fault lies.” he explained it as I had a change of mind. Maybe I could help him. I can return the favour. “Fine. Fine. I understand. Let’s go,” I hurried him and he opened the window. He stepped outside, balancing on the lean wall below it. “Need some help?” he asked. “Nope.” I carefully stepped without taking his hands. We both made our way cautiously. “How did you enter Hell when you are alive?” he questions me while Iam in a state of life and death by making my way down without getting injured. “Is it important right now?” I hissed, and he chuckled. “I thought we could talk about ourselves in the journey.” I don’t want to know about Mason. I ignored him till Iam sure I landed safely on the ground. “Let’s go before anyone sees us,” he instantly said, grabbing my hands, and we both ran out of my house. We crossed two streets breathlessly. “Wow, finally free from third Bitch ” I said, smiling. “Don’t say that you called my sister a bitch?” “Yes, I did,” I loosened my hand from his hand and looked at the new surroundings. Everything looks the same in Hell. “Who’s the other bitches?” he questioned, forgetting about why we both are here. Because of a stupid deal. “No unnecessary question. Tell me what should I do to get my aunt back alive?” I snapped. “It’s not a simple journey. Anyway, we need to reach Lilith’s castle, Queen of Hell. She’s the only one who can help you as well as me,” he explained, and stepped forward. “Promise me, you won’t betray me after I showed you a way to get your guardian back,” a Chill ran down my spine as he uttered those words. “No... I’m not the one who betrays anyone,” I said, thinking about how he betrayed his sister by helping me. What if he betrayed me? It’s not hard to believe him. Is it a wrong choice to trust him? “If you did, I will hunt you down. No matter where you live,” he whispered next to my ears. “Are you threatening me?” He’s threatening me. No doubt about it. How am I going to spend the rest of the time in Hell with him? “Yes, of course. Follow me, I know the way to Lilith’s castle,” he stepped back and lead me to some way Iam not aware of me. I can only follow him without a little trust. I don’t trust him. But Iam following him to wherever the hell he takes me. Oh, my god. Hmm...that’s wrong. Oh, my devil, what am I doing? “So, introduce yourself, Sapphire,” he eagerly asked. I prefer not to share anything, but I revealed a small part of my life. My days in Sapphire Academy and how I came here and little information about my friends and also Jacen. “Wow. It’s interesting. If I were on Earth, I would have written a story about you, Sapphire. But here Iam, being a dead guy. My bad,” he simply said without even understanding my emotions. Never mind... he’s a selfish guy. “You will not write about me or Slateville,” I warned him. Letting these people know about ourselves is a threat. How can we write a book about us? “Don’t talk like Iam going to get a laptop and start writing it right here in Hell,” he said as we both crossed another street. “You can’t and you shouldn’t. Now don’t ask me about my life again. It’s not some animated movie,” “I feel like it’s a movie, Sapphire,” he said, telling my name many times. Even my mother didn’t call me Sapphire many times. “I told you my name is Sydney. Hearing the name ‘Sapphire’ feels strange to me.” I glared at him like it’s a big issue. “This name sounds better. I will only call you like this, Sapphire,” he tried to irritate me. “Whatever.” I don’t give a damn care about how a stranger calls my name. There’s a silence between us for some minutes. All I can hear is my and Mason’s footsteps. I missed the light. I can feel the darkness and loneliness in hell. The more Iam silent, the more Iam feeling all the sad memories in my life. I can’t find my companion hope in hell. Sadness and darkness are the only companions. For a second, I wish I could go back to my parents and my friends. But then Lydia’s face flashed in my eyes. “Hey Sapphire, can I ask you one thing?” I flickered as his voice brought me back from my misery. “Yeah,” “Do you want to get back to your boyfriend, Jacen?”
