Sydney Marin Chapter 58

Jacen’s POV: It’s boring. I want to kill this history professor. He’s making me stay here while my girl is out somewhere. Why am I staying here? Why am I attending this class? I want to end Dorothy’s life. Iam going insane. It’s stressful. I never felt like this. This is torture. Did the Queen talk with Dorothy? What is the King doing? Why do they both aren’t taking any sudden action to save their daughter? “Turn to page 356,” the professor said as I heard some murmuring voices over everywhere. “I said page 356. What’s there to talk about?” he shouted as the murmuring decreased and a girl answered him. “We are talking about Sydney. There’s a rumour that she’s the princess,” “That’s none of your concerns,” he replied, but went silent, closing the book. “Iam sorry for her. I don’t know whether she’s the princess, but I heard something bad happen to her. I don’t know the whole news,” he said in pity. No one needs to have sympathy for her. She has been through many struggles. She will survive in the end. “Yeah, she didn’t even come to any class, or no one spotted her. I heard she went through some portal to a city on Earth,” some boy said simply, like it’s the truth. She’s not on Earth. Stupid rumours are spreading everywhere. I don’t want to hear their idiotic conversation, but it’s my fate to sit here and listen to it. “Is she a princess? I never know the Queen has a daughter,” another girl raises a question. History class became the Sydney class. “Then who’s the real princess. Everything is so confusing,” a werewolf boy asked looking at Cassie, who is looking like a psychotic girl since the conversation started. “Iam the Princess and I will always be a princess. I guess you all have doubts and Iam here to answer them. Ready to hear me out?” she spoke, flipping her hair back. Every student’s attention is on her. Even the professor. If she tells something wrong about my girl, she’s dead. “How can you say it? We are her friends, not you. You know nothing about her,” Amelia intruded. “I don’t need to be her friend to know her. So where am I?” she asked, calming down herself. “Tell me what’s happened to Orphan Sydney or loner or whatever she is,” Bianca said, looking at me sideways and smirking. I closed my fist to control myself. I don’t want to add more stress and pressure myself while Iam already grieving in many problems. “Sydney is an imposter. The Queen indeed has a daughter, but she died when she is six. I know that but we don’t want to think about the sad memories, so no one knows about it. It’s only known to the royal family,” “Sydney desperately wanted the power, money, and royalty because she’s been an orphan all these years. But the truth is she’s always will be a loner. All that you heard are the rumours,” Cassie made up a lie. A fucking lie. “Then why did the Queen blame your mother for her daughter’s death in front of everyone in the class. Do you have an explanation for it?” some brilliant girl asked her without staying silent like a coward. Cassie hesitated. “I can explain that. Sydney’s the reason behind it. She planned everything out to trick the Queen into spoiling the relationship with the two sisters. The Queen and my mom. She doesn’t care about anyone. She wants the crown. She’s an imposter. She impersonated herself as Sapphire. She’s a lion in sheep’s skin. Don’t trust the bitch,” “That’s it. What the hell are you thinking? The description you gave to Sydney is nothing but you. You are a desperate bitch for money and power. Stop your lies. No one’s going to fall for it,” I shouted, slamming my hands hard on the table. All eyes were on me and Cassie, gasping. No one has no idea what to believe or who they should believe. But who cares about that? I don’t give a damn care about anyone here. “That’s me. Iam the heir to this kingdom and it will always be me. Who are you? You are nothing. There’s no use in raising your voice,” she shouted equally to me. “Settle down. It’s my class. There will be no more arguments,” the professor yelled, but no one noticed or obeyed him. I didn’t. Cassie didn’t. “You are a princess, right? But no one likes you. There’s no one for you if you need any help. Think about it. Seems like you are the Loner. Am I right?” I asked with a smile on my face while her face turned red. “Where is Sydney? Someone answer us,” a vampire girl in a red uniform asked both of us. “You all want to know? Sydney’s in Hell. Because Dorothy’s appointed a witch to kill her aunt. Sydney went to hell through a portrait to save her aunt. You all know her aunt, right? Now, who’s the lion in sheep’s skin? Who do you believe?” My brother talked at the right time and broke the truth. Iam glad he did that. I would have done the same. Everyone gasped and murmured. “Don’t hear whatever Noah says?” Cassie said, but it was polite. She still can’t scold Noah. What’s with his girl? Is she into my brother? “Jacen and Noah. You are having detention for an entire week,” I heard the professor’s voice. Can’t Cassie have her detention? I will consider ending her life as detention. That will lead to one less problem. “We both aren’t having any detention. Do what you can? You are such a coward to give detention to Cassie because she’s the princess,” I spoke knowing these lines will have consequences for the upcoming days. It won’t be any worse than what Iam going through. Before anyone can start bickering, there’s a voice over the speaker. It echoed all over the classes and corridors. “First to third-year students, come and assemble in the hall now,” I heard Dorothy’s voice, repeating the same announcement three times. Didn’t see this coming? Cassie walked over to me and whispered something in my ears. “It’s time for you to hear something you never expected. Be ready,”
