Sydney Marin Chapter 31

“Hi Bro. Hi Baby,” Jacen walked towards us after my conversation with Noah. “Who’s the brother? You never treated me like that,” Noah said, looking somewhere but not at him. “But I guess you are still my bro,” Jacen replied, and kissed me once in front of everyone. “That’s my fate,” Noah muttered. “Gross. Gross. You both get a room but it should not be my room,” Amelia said walking towards us with Leona. “I think we all formed a group right now. So, it’s time to choose the weapons for the upcoming competitions called Paranormal Games. I guess you all have that in mind.” Sebastian explained it by breaking our silly talks. I know about paranormal games. That’s where we needed our crystals to save our life if we died in that game. It’s terrific. “You all need to keep in mind that if we lose our lives over two times, then we will be kicked out of this academy. Understand,” Sebastian clearly said. “That’s not fair,” I murmured to myself. “So, you can take this one, Sydney,” Noah gave me the Bow and arrow. I still need to figure out how to use it. “Yeah, I will teach you. It’s essential to have a bow and arrow at least one person in a group,” Issac said, taking it and aiming at a specific wall where there’s a Minotaur shaped Board that was kept just for practice. Iam only noticing it now. He released the arrow, and it perfectly touched the Minotaur in one eye. “I told you so. It’s easy. We can start the training from tomorrow,” he said turning his attention back to me. “Hey guys, I decided to take this gun,” Jacen said, holding a gun. “We can’t use a gun, right?” I asked in confusion. “Of course, we can. They improved technology in Slateville, Baby,” He simply answered and Leona took another gun from the collection of Weapons. “I guess two guns are enough. I will take a bow and arrow. Dagger for Noah. So, what are you guys going to do?” I specifically asked Amelia and Sebastian. “I can change into a wolf, so I guess I don’t need anything,” “I already know enough spells. That’s enough,” When everything got decided, we walked out of the training room. .... After so many attempts, I finally had time to open up Victoria’s diary in the morning. I opened the diary and took the same page. The first part was written in English and then everything is written in some language I don’t even know. “OH my...All my efforts are utter waste,” I complained and ran my hand over the page to clear all the dust from it. That’s when something weird happened. The letters in the diary glowed so brightly that made my eyelids close. But then I opened it Iam not in my room anymore. Iam in a boat. “No, no, no. Why am I in a boat?” I shouted and looked around my surroundings. I noticed Iam not alone. There’s a man and woman are standing and facing the view on the other side. They both are dressed like royals with a crown. Is it peter and Victoria? I doubted but then I saw two small girls who were also watching the view on another side away from their parents. Now I understood everything. It’s Victoria’s past. Her childhood memories. “Look at the whale, Tori. Are you afraid of it?” The seven-year-old girl asked Victoria. I guess they both are Victoria and Dorothy. I can somewhat guess it from their looks. “No. Iam not. Maybe you are afraid. That’s why you are asking me,” Victoria answered. They both are standing in two crates to look down at a whale. “I have never been afraid in my life. Iam not like you. I even saw many monsters,” Dorothy said, bending down too much. “Hey catch me if you can,” she waved her hands at it. “Dorothy, don’t get too close. You may fall. Get down.” Victoria warned, getting down from the crate. “You, pathetic girl,” Dorothy laughed at her, and Victoria’s words came true. She lost her balance and was about to fall from the boat. “I need to save her,” I sprinted forward without thinking it’s a memory. I tried to catch Dorothy but my hands went through her body. My hands are unstable. I can’t do anything. “Mom, dad, Dorothy,” Victoria screamed and jumped into the water without thinking of her life. Their parents rushed towards the other side and saw their drowning children in shock. “Guards. Get a rope,” the king shouted and jumped into the water. That’s when he noticed the whale was chasing them. It’s chasing Victoria. The small girl Victoria is afraid for her life. She screamed as the whale approached her so fast and finally, her dad used some spell on it and caught his daughter in time. Saving his daughter from a whale is his priority. He can’t save both of them at the same time. Dorthy wasn’t attacked by any whale but she went unconscious and went down deep inside the sea. I want to help, but this is not in my hands. The king saved Victoria, and the Queen caught her one daughter who got rescued safely. Then again, the king went deep into the water to save Dorothy. He didn’t shower up with his daughter for so long. The queen lost all her hope and cried uncontrollably for both her husband and Dorothy. But the king finally came back from the water with Dorothy. That’s when the queen got relieved. She’s already crying so hard, praying for Dorothy to be alive. “Dorothy,” the queen sobbed and got her daughter in her hands, who is still unconscious. They both did everything to bring her back to consciousness, but nothing happened, even after so many attempts. “Dorothy wakes up, please,” Victoria pleaded, who’s still soaked and shivering. The queen covered Victoria with a blanket to stop her from shivering. “I told you not to stand in the crate.” She sobbed and told her in disappointment. “Sorry mom, she accidentally slipped down, and I jumped hoping to save her, “Victoria confessed and looked at her sister, who’s not moving at all. “When will we reach the shore? We need to save her,” the king yelled at the guards. “We are so far away from shore. It takes more than an hour, “the guards replied in fear. "Dorothy,"
