Chapter 49
I thought deeply as we were in the carriage back to the palace. The bloody scene of the hanging of Vivian still lingers in my brain, but most of all, the woman with white hair that I have a great hunch, Freya, still lingers in my brain.
But why would he stare at me? I was so bitten on my nail while thinking about the possible causes of Freya’s looks. I may have done something to him without realizing it or
I suddenly stopped when I remembered when he joined Vivian.
‘Anna’
That’s right! He called Anna at that time and since then I have never talked to Anna again and he is probably hiding now and running away from Freya.
I nodded. But why is he hunting Anna?
The only thing I knew that Freya had a big backlog was Psyche, so my suspicion grew that Anna was actually Psyche.
"The depth of what you're thinking?" I came back to reality when I heard Trevas ’voice next to me. We are now inside the carriage back to the palace.
I gasped before leaning back and staring out the window. The sun was setting and the yellowish-orange light coming from it entered the carriage.
“It’s Anna”
Trevas already knew about Anna. The goddess of tears showed Trevas my secrets and one of them was about Anna and the Frozen chrysanthemum but I don't know what else Trevas saw because he didn't tell me. I just wish he didn't see my secret that I slept naked before.
"What about Anna?" Trevas asked before he reached for me and leaned my head against his chest.
“The winter demon earlier. She’s probably your mother right? ” I hesitated to ask.
"I think so…" he replied while looking out the window. "What about it?"
"She called Anna when I first encountered her, And I have a strong suspicion that Psyche is Anna and so she suddenly disappeared to escape Freya"
"Don't think about it too much… there's nothing you can do if you think about it and if your suspicion is true, you don't have to worry because you're not F-Freya's target" I noticed a bit Trevas stuttered. Probably because he didn't know what to call Freya.
I nodded. Maybe I really shouldn’t think about it too much…
The days passed quickly and Trevas and I were able to live peacefully, not as I expected. I heard that the king sent men to look for the woman with white hair who was probably Freya and I couldn't help but wonder. Why is he just looking for it now? How many years have passed but why is it only now that the king is able to find Freya?
These past few days I have not been able to sleep well thinking about things that until now I still can't find the answer and instead of reducing it I think even more when I hear that Alastor is awake.
"What's your plan?" I asked Trevas as we walked out of the palaca hall. Just after the meeting held once a week so we are always updated on events in the kingdom.
"I don't really know" Trevas said before putting his hands in his pockets.
"You don't really have to worry about him… his allies are gone so he can't do anything against you" I said before stepping down the stairs in front of the palace hall. I looked behind us and saw Lina and Lieutenant Jared who looked like they were arguing again.
I stopped walking when Trevas took me by the arm and presented me to him. He touched me on both cheeks before staring into my eyes and I couldn’t stop myself from falling further into him when he suddenly smiled.
"I'm not worrying about him, I think It's you that is worrying about me" he said still not taking his eyes off my eyes.
"Well, you can say that" I said as his smile widened. He didn't say a word and withdrew his hands on both my cheeks.
"You've been hurt too much…" I said as he slowly let go of his grin and looked at me seriously, waiting for what I would say next.
“You’ve been hurt too much by them… by me”
“Aren’t you broken too?” he asked and there was something mean in his eyes as if he knew everything I had been through. The goddess of tears must have shown him everything.
I smiled at him.
“Yeah… But I will love you with all the broken pieces”
He grabbed her chest, still looking at me seriously before he looked up and gasped. “I am thrilled”
I don’t know what’s funny but I can’t help but laugh because of what he said. His face was very serious when he said that while someone was still holding his chest.
He just frowned at me and laughed, still not removing his hand from his chest.
"I told you not to smile at me like that" he said before stepping closer to me which stopped me from laughing.
"No, not here" I said when he got close to me but I didn't do anything when he grabbed me by the neck before we pressed our lips together.
"Would you look at that" I heard Lina say not far away so my face turned red and I tried to push Trevas away.
Trevas moved a little away from me so I had the opportunity to look around and my face turned even redder when I saw the other ministers and generals who were with us earlier in the meeting looking at us.
"Sana al-" I didn't hear what Lina said when Trevas' darkness suddenly engulfed us before we went to a hallway that I didn't know where. The place was a bit dark but before I could take a good look around Trevas leaned me against the wall before reattaching our lips.
I just accepted everything he was giving me and let myself drown in the sensation of him I was just feeling.
“Aren’t we supposed to be visiting Alastor?” I asked, still gasping for breath as I leaned against the wall. He was in front of me and his face was sunk into my neck.
"I'm here, why are you looking for Alastor" he said making me laugh.
"We don't know what Alastor can do once he finds out his mother is gone" Trevas stopped what I was saying before standing up straight.
"Right… yeah we should go" he said before he grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me into the nearby door and that's when I realized that we were just near Alastor's courtyard.
We walked to the courtyard but were shocked to see the servants there seemingly confused and back and forth.
"What happened?" Trevas asked the guard who looked very nervous especially when he saw Trevas talking to him.
