YEN'S POV
As we are one of the VIPs invited to “The Quartet’s Founding Anniversary,” Kim and I make sure we arrive before the guests flood the arena. Kim hates overcrowded places, and he wants us to be at our designated table before that happens. But that won’t happen; every important guest has to take the red-carpet walk.
I don’t know where this IT Solution company gets its name from. The Quartet sounds more like a group of four people creating a singing group than an IT company. Kim and I have met the owners during an important event before, and they are the two Soriano brothers and their first cousin, Aliyah Torres.
They started as a small IT Solution company, but they have managed to climb their way to the top in five years. While Kim’s company creates gadgets or parts, The Quartet provides technological services to any individual or company who needs digital solutions to their systems. Also affiliated with the country’s large telecommunication company, their proposal to partner with us didn’t make Kim think twice. And now, Kim Yuan’s Microelectronics, Inc. is a partner of the country’s top IT Solution company, the Quartet.
“Mr. and Mrs. Mori, please prepare. You’re the next,” the lady in black gown says, smiling at us. She’s one of the event coordinators.
Kim nods, and I smile. Walking on the carpet ahead of us, and applauded by the huge crowd of dignified guests are the couple representing the telecommunication group. The sea of cameras flashes continuously, reflecting on the sequined gowns of the female guests.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. and Mrs. Kim Mori of Kim Yuan’s Microelectronic, Inc,” a rich voice from the background announces, and the event coordinator smiles and bows down at us, a gesture telling us to start the march.
I hold on to Kim’s arm, and we start marching down the aisle. A huge screen displays our grand entry, capturing my radiant smiles. The long round of applause is like music to my ears that I can’t help glancing at the hundreds of guests occupying all the tables from both our sides. And it’s when I see how grand this event is.
I am used and confident in marching before a camera since Kim takes me to any function he is invited to. However, something tells me that today is different.
“This way, ma’am,” says a lady in another black gown similar to the one at the entrance. She meets us at the end of the carpet, ushering us to our designated table at the front.
Kim and I then take our seats. And since we’re at the front-most table, we have a clear view of anyone who steps into the red carpet.
Marching next to us is Aliyah Torres. She’s so beautiful and elegant in her long, body-hugging gown, its midnight shade accentuating her creamy shoulders and arms. Her front skirt has a long slit, showing her long, beautiful legs as she walks. I’m surprised that she always marches alone in events such as this one, though prominent and young businessmen are linked to her name. Perhaps, she still hasn’t been into a serious relationship.
Next is Mark Soriano, the eldest of the two founders of The Quartet. Holding his left arm is a beautiful lady known to the public as his fiancé. Following them is Alex Soriano, the youngest of the two siblings. Beside her is one of the most famous models of the country, Kiara Mendez.
I can feel the gasps and hushed voices of the crowd as they march since the brothers are always known for their stunning looks. Yet, they don’t intimidate me. I’m confident that I also have a beauty and name to flaunt, being the wife of Kim Mori. He may not be the wealthiest man in the country, but his chain of businesses does not leave him behind. And besides, I am now representing Quicksend International as the heiress of my father’s little empire.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Zed Ramos and her fiancé, Miss Ella Sahara!”
My eyes pop wide as I see Zed marching with Ella by his side. He looks so stunning in his designer bespoke, wearing that constant smile on his face. And I notice how his eyes flicker as he looks lovingly at Ella. It speaks how in love he is – I’m sure of that.
Ella only wears a long and simple silver-and-black gown. But she is an epitome of beauty and elegance, whatever she may wear. As I look closer, I realize she wears the gown that Zed had bought for me before but never got the chance to use it. And because I am plumper and shorter than her, it hugs her body tighter; its hem ends just below her calves. Watching her as she flaunts her beauty naturally makes me uncomfortable.
The sight of them walking as a perfect couple pricks my heart. Kim loves me so much, but Zed expresses his love better and sweeter. That is something I can never forget about him. He made me feel so special that he’s willing to shout out to the world that he worships even the ground that my feet step on. He also pampered me like a child before that I almost forgot how to take care of myself.
It’s that only one thing that made me insecure – his sexual flaw. Not that I’m insatiable, but I always long to have that hard and firm cock inside me that Zed had never once granted.
And that led me to fantasize about my boss, not knowing that he was my husband. His role in my life and the things we did in bed had been planted in my subconscious mind, that every time Zed failed, that memory played. I thought those were just fantasies, but later I realized that those were actual bits and pieces of my life.
“Why is Zed here?” I blurt, making Kim look at me. Yes, he appears in important events as a motivational speaker, but he doesn’t have to make that red carpet entry.
“He embodies the fourth person of the quartet,” Kim says calmly, his eyes are on them also. Little d

“Zed doesn’t have that huge amount to invest in a company as huge as The Quartet.”
Kim chuckles. “I’m surprised that you don’t have much faith in him. Remember, Zed is the highest-paid motivational speaker in the country. He invests his income into his coffee shops, and because he has made a name, it’s no wonder he already has more than ten branches in the city alone, if I’m not wrong.”
More than ten branches in the city alone? This is hilarious! This was maybe why he attempted to share his business with me.
“Zed has excellent marketing skills. If not for him, The Quartet would not be what it is today.”
I feel shame and regret. I was her ex-wife but I didn’t show interest in the things he did before.
“Honestly, I admire that man. And I won’t wonder If you still miss him.”
