Chen Lingmeng cried a river of tears. Her eyes were like open faucets, gushing water unceasingly. Witnessing her state, Chen Wenzhou pulled out a handkerchief and gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Mengmeng, listen to me, you are excellent. If Yansi doesn’t appreciate you, it’s because he’s blind. You are far superior and more deserving of love than Heyu. It’s just that Yansi’s eyes are smeared with lard."
Chen Wenzhou tried to comfort Chen Lingmeng. She was already heartbroken, but upon hearing Chen Wenzhou’s words, her crying intensified. She wept so violently that passersby couldn’t help but steal glances at the scene.
Chen Wenzhou took off his suit jacket and draped it over Chen Lingmeng’s head, gently patting her shoulder.

Seeing Chen Lingmeng cry so pitifully, he chuckled and took out a tissue to wipe her nose.
"You’re such a grown girl, how can you still cry so miserably? Haven’t I promised you? I will definitely fulfill your wish to marry Yansi, and no one can stop that."
"Brother, you’re the best!" Chen Lingmeng managed to break into a smile through her tears at Chen Wenzhou.
Catching sight of her expression, a ruthless scheme flashed through Chen Wenzhou’s eyes. It seemed to completely disrupt the possibility between Yansi and Heyu, something more had to be done.
"Alright, it’s getting late. Crying here on the main road, people might think I’ve made you cry. Let’s go home first, we can talk about everything else once we’re there," Chen Wenzhou patted Chen Lingmeng on the back.
Chen Lingmeng nodded cooperatively and whispered, "Brother, let’s go home."
Chen Wenzhou escorted Chen Lingmeng back home. After she bathed, she fell into a deep sleep, but Chen Wenzhou was restless. He had a servant bring him a bottle of red wine, and he stood with it at the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the night outside.

"You say he insists on marrying Pei Yansi, but in the end, it’s you who are tormented. You’re not even related by blood, just an adopted son of the Chen Family. Why go to such lengths for their affairs?"
Hearing her latter words, Chen Wenzhou’s expression changed slightly, his eyes narrowing subconsciously, hiding emotions that were impenetrable.
Although he still wore a smile on his face, it had become somewhat estranged and cold. He let go of Lu Yunlan’s hand and took off the jacket he was wearing to hand it back to her.

Lu Yunlan realized she had misspoken and sighed, but she felt her point was valid. As the Chen Family’s adopted son, he hadn’t gained much benefit, and perhaps these shares would all end up with Chen Lingmeng alone in the end. Lu Yunlan was different from Chen Lingmeng. Although Chen Lingmeng and Chen Wenzhou were siblings, they were not related by blood, while Lu Yunlan was Chen Wenzhou’s legitimate wife.

Chen Wenzhou turned to Lu Yunlan and said, "I’ll be going over then. You get some rest early and stop fretting over these matters."
Lu Yunlan looked helplessly at the door. Chen Wenzhou was not Chen Lingmeng’s servant to attend to her every call, but she was powerless. She nodded, advising Chen Wenzhou with a word.

Chen Wenzhou raised his hand to stroke Chen Lingmeng’s head, "Alright, brother will think of a way."
