Annabel was already dressed, she had worn a short silver coloured gown, with a black fancy long boot, almost reaching to her kneel. She had stood in front of the fancy mirror that was decorated with so many kinds of stickers. She stood there for a few minutes admiring herself. She admired the perfect creature reflecting on the mirror and couldn't believe she was this beautiful. She moved backwards as she tried looking at her figure eight.
"Oh my God! I'm gorgeous!" She exclaimed.
She picked up her makeup purse and started decorating her face when her phone rang.
On the phone…
"Where are you?" A voice that came from.the phone call asked. The voice was filled with pain, anxiety, hopelessness and fear.
Annabel noticed that the number calling her was unknown but the voice sounded familiar and confusing.
"Who is this?" She asked unto hearing the tone of the person's voice.
"It's me Mara."
"Mara? Why is your voice sounding like that? Are you crying?"
"Just tell me where you are. I'm in a big trouble just tell me where you are so I can come and meet you"
"Trouble?"
"Just tell me. I don't have much time. I will tell you everything when you come."
Immediately Mara said those words to Annabel, Annabel quickly told her where she was and then ended the call.
At that moment, Annabelle got scared. she was so sure that Mara had gotten into trouble. She was very sure of that! Mara's voice was filled with all the pain she could imagine. Annabel never stopped wondering what had really happened to her dear friend. She got scared, she was so scared that something unbearable must have happened to Mara.
Few minutes Later, Annabel decided to call back that number but it was so unfortunate that the number didn't go and when she decided to try calling the second time, The phone rang but no one picked up.
'What could have happened?" she asked herself.
"I'm seriously scared right now. How I wish she's going to pick up the call. She is coming to meet me up and I really need to know what happened.
A few minutes later Mara arrived at Annabel's home. Annabel noticed her presence from the window and quickly rushed towards the door to usher her in.
"hey! What happened? you got me so scared and why are you crying?
She caressed Mara's face. wiping out the tears and trying to make her end the cry but it seems that the more she tries to make her stop crying, the worse her crying becomes.
Annabel saw that Mara's tears were uncontrollable. She began to feel pity for her. she wondered what could have made her cry this serious.
"what happened? Tell me and stop crying. Please just tell me. what happened?"
she took Annabel's hand and led her to a couch as they both sat. still trying to wipe Mara's tears, she asked again.
"Mara what happened?"
"Sister." Mara called Annabel.
Her voice was so weak that she couldn't speak. All she could do was just cry and cry. This point, when Annabel saw that it was getting out of hand, she got very scared and spoke to her like a mother would speak to her crying child.
"Sweetheart, please tell me what happened. You know your sister loves you right?"
"Yes."
She nodded.
"Sister."
She called Annabel the second time.
With a whisper voice, she hugged Annabel so tightly and tried to compose herself.
"keep calm. keep calm. don't cry. Please wipe Your Tears and tell me what happened."
Annabelle tried to withdraw Mara from embrace but Mara had held her so tightly that she wouldn't want to let go of Annabel. Annabel got so confused and concluded that for Mara to cry this way, something serious had really happened to her.
'Who knows what that Deon had done to her!' She said inwardly.
"Baby girl please don't cry, just tell me ok? I'm here for you, ok? sister loves you." she tried putting a smile on Mara's face and it seemed it worked. She wiped Mara's tears away and then asked Mara to tell her what had happened to her.
Mara started to narrate the unfortunate incident that occured.
"I was in my car when I felt hungry so I decided to park the car at the corner of the road. though, the road wasn't lonely. It was filled with lots of people passing by and also cars as well. When I was about to step down from my car, someone with a mask, it was a guy. He pointed a gun at me and then told me not to shout. I got scared and obeyed. He entered my car and he drove me into an unknown building. I was nervous, sister. At that point, I wished my father was alive because he would always send his bodyguards with me whenever I go out. When we got to an old building, I didn't know where we were because he had tied my eyes while coming to that location. He made me fall to the ground and then untied my eyes. That was when I realised that the place he took me towards was so lonely. So lonely that even if I was to scream for help, no one would hear my voice. I was so scared, sister. I thought that would be my last day alive on this earth. I thought that I won't see you girls again."
He walked towards me and said to himself,
"With what I'm about to do now, Deon would go down."
"That was the only thing he said. In the next few seconds, I saw him bring out a matchet. He was heading towards me and when he got to where I was, he lifted the matchet towards my head and I fainted but before I fainted, I realized that someone had attacked him. While I was unconscious, I could hear the mask man call him Stephen. Hours later, I found myself in my car with a written note from my saviour, telling me to go to any safe place I know. That was why I called you."
