At the hospital...
They arrived already. Everyone walked into the reception as Annabel walked towards the Receptionist.
"Has the doctor arrived?"
Asked Annabel as the Receptionist replied.
"Not yet ma'am. It's quite early. Please, you all can have a seat while you wait for his arrival. He will come in one hour… I mean by 11:00am. Please, exercise a little patience."
Said the Receptionist as Annabel smiled at her before walking towards the direction where everyone stood and when she got there, she spoke.
"He isn't here yet. She said he would come soon. Let's sit and wait."
Said Annabel.
After a while, they all sat as they waited for the doctor.
10 mins later…
"Sister… must we wait for the doctor's arrival before going inside that room to see Mr. Evidence?"
Rose asked as she gazed up at Annabel who sat beside her.
"Don't worry, the doctor will arrive soon."
Annabel replied but because she never wanted Rose to get worried over nothing, she decided to see if she could keep Rose busy while they waited for the doctor's arrival.
"Do you want some candy?"
Annabel asked Rose and Mara, hearing Annabel's question, quickly replied to Annabel without waiting to know if Rose would want to reply to Annabel's question.
"I want to!"
"I didn't ask you. The question is for Rose and not you." Said Annabel.
"Oh! I forgot to tell You. Well, I actually changed my name. My new name is Rose. Please everyone, you all can call me Rose because it's my new name now."
Mara spoke and Instantly, what she said made everyone laugh. Including Rose.
As they saw her laugh, everyone was happy. Yes! That was what they wanted. They wanted her to be happy and cheerful.
"Your name is Rose now? Huh?"
Rose asked as she looked at Mara with a smile on her face before Mara replied.
"Yes, sister. Can you please permit me to bear your name for today?"
Mara spoke like a child as she held her ears. Trying to fake a cry.
"Ok, Ok, sister. Yes You can." Said Rose as Mara happily spoke.
"I Can? Thank you sister. It's time for candy!!!"
Mara said as she excitedly hugged Rose and Annabel.
"Alright then. Let's go get some candy." Said Annabel.
"Yeah!!!!" Mara rejoiced as she held Rose's hand, trying to help her stand.
"Baby, we will be back soon. You and Daniel should wait here. We won't take much time okay?" Said Annabel as she walked towards David and have him a fast peck at the cheek.
"Where are you girls going to get the candy?" Daniel asked. Mara who was already standing next to Daniel gave him a fast peck as well before she finally replied to his question.
"We are going to the pleasure park located on the next street. Right, sister?"
She asked as she focused her gaze towards Annabel.
"Yes! That's the exact location." Annabel replied.
Everyone stood as they noticed Rose wasn't saying a word and unto realizing that, Annabel asked Rose.
"Right, sister?"
Rose snapped out of her dazed state as she blinked.
"Hmmm? Oh! Yes! You are Right." Said Rose.
"Alright then, you girls can go. Don't hesitate to call if at all you encounter any difficulty." Said David.
"Okay, baby. Thanks."
Annabel thanked and without any hesitation, the 3 girls held each other's hands as they walked out of the building, heading towards the car while David and Daniel sat and discussed like the men they were.
Daniel cleared his throat as he sat upright before he spoke.
He took a deep sigh.
"When are you going to tell us the plan?" Daniel asked.
"Tomorrow." David replied.
"Tomorrow? Why was it postponed? We were all hoping to hear you say it last night and all you said was we should go to bed… it's late. I'm just wondering what kind of plan is that. I just hope it goes fine."
Said Daniel as he leaned his head backwards, against the chair and within seconds, David replied to him.
"It's nothing too serious though. Just that… These days, we are visiting the hospital and by the end of the day? Everyone would be tired. I'm certain no one would want to hear my trash in their tired state." Said David.
"Trash? You shouldn't say that bro. I have always known you to be a wise person and I have always had faith in your wisdom. Just know this. I'm so sure that whatever plan you would bring will be useful and trust me, it's not trash.
Said Daniel as his gaze never left David. While he spoke to David, he spoke like a motivational speaker. He activated his serious mood unlike him.
David, realizing how serious Daniel looked while he spoke, couldn't stop himself from laughing because he had always known Daniel as a clown. He knew him to be someone who doesn't take things so serious. Always joking with everything.
As all these thoughts ran through David's head, he kept trying not to laugh but it didn't work out. The almighty joker finally said something serious.
"Like seriously?" Said Daniel as David increased his laughter.
"Why are you laughing?" Daniel asked as he felt his ears stand to listen to the answer to his question.
"What's so funny?" Daniel asked.
"Ever since I knew You, today is the first day in my life I ever saw you talk so serious." David said as he burst into laughter for the second time.
Daniel, hearing David, he sighed and spoke.
"Oh! That's why you are laughing?" He Said.
He sighed for the second time before he continued talking.
"So now, are you saying everything I say is a joke?" Daniel asked.
"Not really. Just that… I'm shocked and surprised you said something serious for the first time since I knew You. The Daniel I knew since I was little was a jerk! Always a jerk. I haven't forgotten the moments we shared while growing. I know you better than anyone."
Said David as Daniel joined him to laugh as well.
"You See what I just Said! Now, you are laughing as well because of what I said. What I said isn't even funny so I'm wondering why you are laughing this loud." Said David as Daniel replied.
"Crazy mood, activated." Said Daniel as he continued to laugh before a call interrupted.
Daniel could feel the vibration that came from his phone as he brought it out from his pocket.
He looked at his phone screen and when he saw who was calling, he knew the call was urgent and he needed to pick up.
On the phone...
"Yes, boss." Daniel replied to a question from the caller.
"There is a case I want you to handle. It's urgent. Will you be available tomorrow?" The caller asked.
"Yes, boss."
"Ok then. I want to see you at the court by 11:00am. Once you arrive, I'll brief you on the issue." Said the caller.
"Ok, boss. Sure!" Said Daniel.
The call ended.
"Sometimes I wonder how you manage to win tough cases. Wait… are you a clown only at home?" David asked.
"I'm a clown anywhere I find myself. Maybe I guess my attitude always confuses my opponent in court."
Said Daniel as he laughed while David joined him as well.
After the laugh, the handsome gentlemen thought of having a walk. Since the hospital was huge, they thought of walking around while they waited for the girls and the doctor.
