Reborn For A Mission Chapter 39

I continued to walking until I woke up while the sun shone brightly. In front of me was a table that I had been using to lean my head. It looked like Jazzlin fell asleep. On the table there was a calendar which immediately caught my attention. It was 2005 and the ink circles right on the date when my accident happened. I wondered what Jazzlin did until her car hit me. Someone's crying voice was heard, averted my gaze. I started walking closer to it, but I didn't aim to get close to the voice. Right behind the wall of the room where the sound of crying was heard, I stopped. Rose Ozza was crying alone in there. I closed my eyes. Again, it wasn't me who moved the body but the real Jazzlin. The cause of her sadness was none other than Jeremy Ozza. That man became someone Jazzlin hated the most after what he did to this family. Rose Ozza was just as frustrated after her divorce. She still didn't want someone to take her family's happiness just like that. Every day seeing his mother cry, Jazzlin felt down. He felt useless, couldn't do anything for his mother's happiness. Everyday Jazzlin was depressed. She rarely returned home and spending more of her time on things that were far from good. She spent the money her father gave her just for partying and having fun. Barra was not there by her side. She couldn't tell whether her friends were real or fake. In her mind was just the world's pleasures to cover her wounds and stress. Since entering college, Jazzlin had stopped contacting Barra. That man was still trying to contact her, but none of that she paid attention of. She chose her stance to forget him. For Jazzlin, Barra was only her past and would have no influence on her future. She cut that man out of her life. Everything was painful as she concluded the people around her were slowly leaving. And Barra was no different from the others. When she was at her lowest point, he never came. That man seemed to had vanished into the earth even though Jazzlin from the bottom of her heart still hoped that Barra would return. I could also feel the bitterness of her life behind what the media was saying. All of it was opposites. She was never happy. She didn't even know the meaning of happiness. I looked down then turned my body. Back to the room, I took the car key and catching a glimpse of my appearance in the mirror. Jazzlin was wearing a tank top with shorts. Her hair was not as long as Jazzlin's when I woke up in her body for the first time. Her face was still the same, beautiful. But her eyes had clear black circles. I ran through the lonely mansion. There were no one, let alone servants, they were nowhere. The atmosphere of the mansion was different. Everything looked messy and neglected. The building was just a little different from what I'd seen. It was true that Jazzlin could drive a car! At that time Barra naturally trusted me to drive his car. Jazzlin had a good skill of driving. She hit the road in fast speed. My hair started to droop as the wind blew. Without my command, my fingers cracked the car drawer then I took a box of cigarettes. Jazzlin was smoking? This girl had really became a troublemaker and somehow it was hurting me to see her fell apart. Just imagine that little girl who liked to laugh happily had now changed drastically. Broken parental relationships could really affect their child. One of the things that happened to Jazzlin. She was one of the victims of the broken home. I didn't know where I was headed, all I knew was that the cigarette was already between my lips. Every suction felt relieved and lightened my burden. My eyes stared blankly at the road. It felt like I had been driving a car aimlessly for hours. From windshield, I could see the clouds were getting dark when I realized this car was almost near the street of my orphanage, right when the accident happened. I was still casually smoking a cigarette and staring indifferently at the street. Not a single person passing by made me stick to the wheel at maximum speed. Rain water slowly dropped on the windshield. I narrowed my eyes for a moment I realized there was a little girl about to cross. It was Alia! I was full of tension, couldn't control this trapping situation. Panic overtook me so quickly as soon as I saw myself, Janielle pushed Alia and let herself became the victim of an accident. The car crashed her, Janielle, my old-self. Until she bounced away, I suddenly brake. The sound of a man screaming filled me with fear. Voices appeared in my head, stating that I had killed someone. I was so scared. I was afraid I would be jailed. I was not ready to take responsibility, and I didn't want to have other problems. Jeez, so that was the reason Jazzlin was irresponsible. She was too young. She didn't even know how to take care of herself, but I didn't justify her for running away. Even though this accident was not on purpose, but she should have driven her car at a normal speed. If she didn't crashed on me, it was possible that someone else innocent could become the victim. Without thinking or checking the condition of someone, my car just hit, I stabbed my gas and quickly ran away from the scene. My lips was rambling words that I didn't know what. My mind was unfocused, it filled with intense fear, "This was really bad!" I yelled. "If my mother know what happened, she'll be even sadder and more frustrated." I talked to myself, "Nope! I can't let it happen." My father's face appeared in my mind, yeah Mr. Jeremy Ozza. He was the only one who could help me. I directed my car to the destination that plastered in my mind. My father's mansion was quite far from where I was. However, that didn't stop my enthusiasm to go there. Arriving at the mansion, the guards welcomed me. I ignored them, only gave them my car's key. Immediately, I ran into my father's study, but of course there was Moorah and her mother, Yolanda Ozza. "Jazzlin, it's been a while since I saw you visiting here." Yolanda approached me, while Moorah just sat on the sofa and sent me a cynical look. "Where is my father?" I swallowed hard. There wasn't a point to chit-chat. "He's busy in his room, what's wrong?" It looked like Yolanda was a nice woman but still that didn't take away from the fact that she had taken someone's happiness. "That's none of your business." I replied sarcastically and then left them. My words sounded harsh, but that was what she deserved tho. Of course, meeting Jeremy Ozza was not easy. I was right in front of the door of his room when two guards blocked me by saying that Jeremy Ozza didn't want anyone to disturb him. "Go to hell." I yelled, "Tell him it's Jazzlin or tomorrow all of you will be fired." I sent them my tantrums. From inside my father shouted to let me in, it seemed like my scream was loud enough for him to hear it. I sent a sneer at the two guards before walking away as stomping my feet in anger. My father had welcomed me. He stopped all his work just for the sake of welcoming me. I knew for a long time I refused to meet him even though he begged. This time I was forced because I needed his help. "Jazzlin, is that really you?" His eyes were full of disbelief. I shrugged my shoulders, no t really care what he said just now, "I need your help." I answered bitterly. "What is it? Tell me, I will help you." I smiled sarcastically, "Really? Then promise me." I made him promise me that he would keep helping me even when he knew what I was asking for. "Yeah, I'm your father." He smiled. "Promise me." "I promise." "I just ran into someone and I think she's dead. Can you close the case so the public doesn't know about it?" His eyes widened, "You're kidding, right?" "Does my face show I'm kidding?" I asked back as he rubbed his temples then closed his eyes. "You killed someone, Jazzlin!" His voice was loud before he shook his head, "You are a murderer! How can you do that and don't want to take any responsibility ?!" "You promise me! Save your speech for yourself. I don't need it!" I groaned in frustration. "This is crazy! I'm not gonna help you." His statement made my blood boiled, "What? You promised me!" I ran my fingers through my hair, "What kind of father who doesn't help his daughter when she need his help the most!" "You must admit your mistakes and take responsibility. I did not raise you to be a criminal." He covered his face with the palm of his hand, "The innocent little girl that I loved so much has now turned into a heartless witch." Obviously my feelings got hurt to hear this. My own father said unkind things about me.
