Hunter POV
I just watched Linnea and Aiden go and I couldn't help but be angry with myself because I felt like I just let that man get her, but I also didn't want to contradict Linnea's decision. As she said she was very confident I would make a way just to be back in my arms again.
She’s the only woman who makes me realize what love is and I don’t want to lose her no matter what happens I won’t let her disappear and just go to Aiden. I will do everything for her. Even if I spend all my money and lose my business as long as I get her again.
After that I just got back to my car and drove home. I saw Dane who was approaching me when I entered the mansion.
"Where are they now?" he asked me.
"They're gone." I answered.
I saw him shake his head many times as he followed me to the sofa. "Aiden really changed a lot, he will do everything just to get revenge on you."
"I doubt that." I said.
“What do you mean?”
"At first I knew he was just using Linnea because of me but now I doubt it if that's still on his mind, I feel like he likes Linnea."
"Well, you are right because if you really like Linnea it's not possible that Aiden also likes her. So what's your plan now?"
"I don't know yet but I need to figure out a way as soon as possible how to get Linnea." I said seriously.
"Love moves in mysterious ways." He kept on saying that word while laughing.
"When the day comes that you love someone I'm sure you'll understand me." I said to him,
"I don't have time for that Hunter, I already saw how you will do everything for Linnea. I don't want to be like you. I'm happy with my life and I don't want a headache."
I just ignored him and turned away. "Let's go."
FASTFORWARD
Aiden POV
It’s been a month since I took Linnea to Hunter, but until now I still haven’t been able to take her heart. I tried many times but I couldn't feel it.
I knew in myself that Hunter was the one he loved and I admit to myself that I can’t ever beat him in all aspects.
It hurts because I know in myself that I did everything but it still doesn’t seem to be enough, it’s really hard to love someone who loves someone else. It is difficult to fight for someone that doesn’t want you to win.
Maybe this is the sign for me to return her to the one she truly loves and loves her too. I know I've been a jerk but I've just loved Linnea, maybe if we just met earlier than Hunter there is still hope.
"What are you thinking dear?” I heard Nay Belen’s voice..
"Nothing, I’m just thinking of letting go." I answered.
"Is that about Linnea?"
I nodded. "I think I need to give her back to Hunter, I can't force someone to love me." I said sadly.
She touched my shoulder. "That's right, do the right thing Aiden. You know in yourself that you've done everything but Linnea is not destined for you. There will also be a woman who can reciprocate your love."
I didn't speak anymore and Nay Belen said goodbye because she will go home first to see her family. I sighed a few times before walking to find her. I need to talk to Linnea now.
I saw her standing on the veranda while holding a glass with milk. I approached her and held her arm but she still did not move so I turned her to me and slowly removed the bill she was wearing.
I saw the confusion in her beautiful eyes. "What are you doing Aiden?" She asked.
"When I remove this necklace it means I'm freeing you, I realized that no matter what I do I can't change Hunter in your heart. I love you so much Linnea, that's why I'm letting you go and be with the one you really love. And I know it was Hunter and not me." I said.
I saw so much shock on her face and soon she hugged me tightly. "Thank you Aiden, thank you for setting me free."
Linnea POV
In almost a month of being with Aiden I got used to his presence, so when he approached me I didn't bother to look at him but I was surprised when he removed the necklace on my neck.
I couldn’t help myself and I quickly hugged him. I was happy because he finally realized what he was doing was wrong. We talked for a few more minutes before I went back to the room to get dressed.
When I finished getting dressed and arranged my things, the door opened and Aiden entered. "Have you fixed everything?" he asked me..
I nodded. "Yeah, it's just a little so I just fixed it quickly."
"My men will take you back to Hunter, they are just waiting for you in the car so hurry up now,"
"Thank you so much for letting me go, Aiden, I'm wishing for your happiness. I know in time you will find the right girl for you. Always take care." I said and hugged him for the last time.
He smiled sparingly. "Take care also Linnea even if I know that Hunter will do that for you. Be happy always." his weak utterance.
"Are you sure you won't come with me?" I ask.
He shook his head. "Not anymore , I don’t want to change my decision and don't give you back to him." he exclaimed and turned away.
I know it wasn't easy for Aiden to make that decision so I admire him. It is not easy to let go of the person you love.
I walked out and got in the car.
