Hunter POV
I'm here now in the private room where Aiden and Linnea were brought, I just requested that they be put together so that I don't get tired of moving around to look at them. To this day Linnea is still unconscious while Aidens just woke up.
"What did you get into and did your business get into those people?" I asked him as soon as I could get close to it.
He looked at me first before sighing. "I didn't know it would take this long, so I decided to come home here while thinking of a way to fix my mess between them." He explained.
How many times I was slapped on the forehead when Dane told me all the information he got about the people who attacked Aiden, I couldn’t quite imagine Aiden going to collide with those people. So I instructed Dane to find a way to fix its mess and if he needed money he would give it to them.
"Don't worry about it Hunter, I will find a better way for me to fix the mess I got into, so if Linnea wakes up, leave and start your life."
I raised an eyebrow at what he said. "You think I'll let you deal with that problem alone? And do you think Linnea will agree to leave when she finds out about it?" I growled at him.
"I don't know if you're stupid or really stupid Hunter, after what I did to you and Linnea do you still want to help me?"
"You know Aiden it's better to be a fool than to be as smart as you are but often become stupid. I've never considered you an enemy because if you're an enemy you've been dead for a long time. I'm not as bad as you imprinted there in your mind, you know how important you and your parents are to me and even if they are gone I will not let you perish. I promise to them that I will keep you safe no matter what happens." I seriously promise.
He was silent for a moment before facing me again. "I'm sorry for what I've done. Even though I've done a lot wrong, you didn't hesitate to help me, you still haven't changed until now."
I laughed. "You're the only one who thinks bad about me since your parents died because you think I just let everything happen. I know also that you didn’t change Aiden it;s just you are blinded with anger and hatred in your mind." I said.
He didn't speak so I handed him the food I ordered and he immediately accepted.
"Don't worry, it has no poison.” I joked at him.
"Stupid!" he shouted and laughed.
While he was busy eating the food I ordered, I approached the other bed where Linnea was lying.
I pulled a chair closer to her bed and held her hand. I don't know why until now she still hasn't woken up but the doctor said it was normal. It was good and nothing much happened to her and the test done on her by the doctor was completely normal.
Soon I felt drowsy because maybe I was awake and tired. I still didn't get a good night's sleep because I just watched them all night. Until I no longer realized that I was slowly being swallowed up by drowsiness.
I also fell asleep for about an hour and I just woke up because I felt someone holding my hair so I woke up and saw Linnea's smiling face.
I immediately adjusted myself. "You are awake now," I said..
"I think it’s been 5 minutes since I woke up and saw you sleeping so I just let you rest first. I also look at Aiden and he's sleeping.
"How are you feeling? Are you in pain?"
She shook her head. "I'm totally fine."
"Thank God, the doctor said you can go out when you wake up."
She looked at Aiden who was lying down. "How is he? His life must be in danger."
"Don't even think about it and I'm going to fix everything. I also thought that he'll stay at home until the mess he got into isn't fixed." I explained.
"Will he agree? Have you two talked already?"
I nodded. "He woke you up earlier."
I know for others that it is not easy to be helped and to be with the person who causes pain to the person you love but Aiden is like my brother and I need to keep him safe. And I promised to his parents that as much as I could I would protect Aiden, I would not let him be like what happened to them. Even if we had a misunderstanding, that wouldn't be an obstacle for me to just let him go.
And it’s easier for me to monitor things especially if we’re all in the same house, knowing that Aiden’s enemies won’t just act against him especially if he’s on my side.
We were also close before we had a fight so maybe it's not bad if we get together again. I know we can restore our friendship like before and Linnea is also there to mediate when we fight.
"Aren't you done flirting yet?" said a voice on our side, we looked at Aiden who was already sitting on his bed.
"We're not flirting! You idiot!." Linnea shouted at him.
"Oh I thought you would sleep for the rest of your life.” I said.
"If I die many women will cry," he replied.
"Are you sure Aiden is really okay? Maybe he needs another check up, it looks like the screw in his brain has come loose so what are you saying or maybe the wind has blown into his brain." Linnea at the same time.
We both laughed because of what he said.
