Chapter 8
Mu Yunyao quickly held her hand and comforted her, “Mother, don’t be afraid, we only beat up a thief . Light the lamp . ”
Her voice was gentle yet firm . There was a sort of strength behind that voice which gave Su Qing a sense of security . Although she was trembling, she still managed to light up the lamp . She held it up to see the figure clearly . Su Qing could not help but yelp out in fright, “Blood……blood……”
Li Shi had already fainted . There was an open wound on her head which was most probably caused by the chamber pot . Blood covered her face . With only the lamp lighting up the dark room, she looked like an evil demon .
Mu Yunyao took the lamp and held it at Li Shi’s head, her eyes shone with a bone-piercing coldness . At this moment, if she just so very slightly tilts the lamp, the lamp oil would drip onto Li Shi . And then, only a small spark would be needed to burn Li Shi alive, obliterating the root of their nightmares .
“Yao Er!”
Su Qing’s cries made Mu Yunyao come back to her senses . The oil in the lamp shook and the little flame trembled . She quickly forced herself to clear her head . Killing Li Shi would be easy, but getting rid of the evidence would be much more difficult . She could take the risk, but her Mother could not . She had sworn that she would protect her Mother, she had to make sure that not a hair of hers could be touched . To add on to that, death would be too easy on Li Shi .
Mu Yunyao blinked . When she turned around, the gloominess in her eyes had completely evaporated and they regained their gentle and harmless look . “Mother, you……”
“Yao Er!” Su Qing yelled . At the next moment, Mu Yunyao felt a sharp pain from her scalp . Li Shi had unexpectedly woken up! She grabbed Mu Yunyao’s hair and looked to be readying herself to slap her .
“You dare!” Mu Yunyao’s voice was filled with obvious murderous intent!
Li Shi trembled . When her eyes met up with Mu Yunyao’s, she felt a chill rush up her throat, making to difficult to breathe . She gasped, “You……you little wench, you……”
How could this little wench be so menacing?
Mu Yunyao had on a cold smirk . With the lamp reflecting onto her bruised face, she looked especially scary . “If you dare hit me, I will pour the lamp oil onto your body and use fire to light you up!”
“You little wench, as expected, your heart is blackened! How dare you treat me this way? I’m your Grandmother!” Li Shi’s words were strong and certain but her heart was shaking . “If I had known earlier that you would be like that, I would have killed you the moment you were born!”
“What a pity, you did not kill me . Today, you will be the one to die! Entering the Zhang residence is equivalent to me committing suicide, so I should just bring you to hell with me . When we see the God of Death, we will see how he punishes you, the old hag who hurt her daughter-in-law and granddaughter . Your tongue will be pulled out, your eyes dug out, you will be skinned alive and have your bones and muscles drawn out, you will be sentenced to the lowest pits of hell and will never escape!”
Li Shi’s heart leapt . She violently pushed Mu Yunyao to the side . “You wretch, you……you will be going to the Zhang residence anyway, I will not bother myself with you . Zhang Caizhu really likes fresh and tender little girls . Your skin is as soft as tofu, but once he is done with you, there won’t be a proper piece of skin on you . Would you be so sharp-tongued when you start to wish for death?”
Li Shi grinded her teeth . Earlier on, she had found five taels of silver in the wardrobe . When she returned she could not fall asleep when she thought about the possibility of her missing out on more silver, thus she came to check . The silver was earned by her son anyway, it belongs to her . But who knew, she did not get any silver and was instead given a beating .
Mu Yunyao tottered after being pushed to the side, the flame in the lamp extinguished . The room turned dark where only Li Shi’s harsh breaths could be heard . An idea flashed through Mu Yunyao’s mind and she immediately grabbed the metal stick and aimed at Li Shi according to he rmemory . She used the metal stick to hit Li Shi’s leg hard!
Li Shi did not expect such an attack and was hit . She fell onto the floor . Mu Yunyao did not give her the chance to rise up and used all her strength and hatred to fuel the next blow which landed once again on Li Shi’s leg . A crack was heard and was followed by Li Shi’s shrieks which sounded like a dying pig’s . “You little wench, I will kill you, I WILL KILL YOU!”
Mu Yunyao did not care about her . She calmly walked towards the table to feel for the lighter . She lit up a piece of cloth and fed the flame with lamp oil . Within moments, the entire house was on fire!
