Chapter 9: Hiring a lawyer
Nana after listening to what I said, her expression paled, she was scared that she couldn't put it into words, other people were so scared when they heard this story, but I have to bear these things myself because of not giving Min to my ex-husband.
Nana patted me on the back and comforted me:
“Did you call the police? Don't worry the police will help or you'll come to my house for a few days like that.”
I shook my head, I went to the police, I thought about it and I did it, but they didn't help us, and I didn't want to get involved with Nana. The fatigue and helplessness that surrounded me made me tired, I bowed my head in silence for a long time and say:
"I have to work something to end this, I don't want to lose my daughter."
Nana said,
"Or you can hire a lawyer, get a lawyer to handle this."
I looked up at Nana, is it a good way for me and my daughter but with Enzo's current status, it's very difficult for me to win.
Nana continued:
“If you have never hired a lawyer or don't know any lawyers, let me introduce you, he is very good at these cases, and he will definitely help you.”
I asked: “Who? Who can help me?”
Nana introduced me to a lawyer named Roy, he is very good at handling cases like mine and more importantly, Roy is Nana's former classmate, she said she didn't want to see me suffer worse yet. Those bad guys can come at any time, if not handled quickly, it will make things worse and Min will be the one to suffer the most.
After Nana left, I cooked my daughter some food and thought about what Nana had said. And in the afternoon, Enzo's men came knocking again and I didn't dare to open the door, initially just the doorbell, then the start of the pounding and madness as if they wanted to smash my wooden door.
The first thing I did when they could come into the house was to run up to the room and lock Min's door so she couldn't go out nor know what was going on.

I suspect and look at the man in front of me and look at the paper he gave me, I don't know what's in his hand but it's not a good thing.

My hand trembled, my forehead sweating with fear, all the things I was reading were the things that I had always buried in my heart so that no one would see them, but it was eventually dug back by my ex-husband.

"I advise you to give Miss Mindian to our Boss, which is the best way to make things better," he continued.
Listening to the words of the man in front of me couldn't calmly read all the documents. Very quickly I realized that it was mental manipulation and that starting from Enzo, he was digging up bad things in my past. As it says, my father was a drug addict before he died, but he was afraid of his neighbors will know that.

And in the end, I was caught by the police and sent to a reformatory for two years, in which I could not live in peace, often beaten and belittled by the bad guys there. My father died and I got out of there sooner than I expected…

"Enzo, you are so cruel, the pain that I've been trying to hide for years and you're digging it up like a joke." - I can't believe that Enzo can do this much just because he wants me to submit to him.
My heart felt like it was cut into pieces by Enzo, it was extremely painful, in my heart I secretly resented this horrible, miserable man, I shouldn't have loved him in the first place and shouldn't have accepted his prayer marriage and even more should not believe in things called "will change".
I angrily tore up the records of my past, the past is the past, Min needs someone who can protect her, if I'm weak now, then I'll lose her.
Every piece of paper fell from my hand in front of the others.
“These things have nothing to do with my current life and my daughter's. Enzo wants to use these to think that I am a social evil and don't deserve to be a mother?”
I tore the documents in my hand and threw them down spontaneously and indifferently, not because I was not afraid but because I was hiding my weakest side, the pain and the dark past I buried so many years ago that today was dug up and caused my heart to falter.
"Tell your Boss to give up the custody of Min, I will never accept this."
The man in front of me had no expression at all as he watched me tear the document apart, he said:
“That document is just to give you a clear understanding of what you've done in the past and there's no certainty that it won't happen again.”
I wrinkled my eyebrows to look at him, but he didn't care about my anger. He approached me and stopped by my ear and said,
“You can tear them up and say those arrogant words, but what will happen when your friends and people around you know this, how will they look at you? Suppose just say they'll still be happy to accept that, but what about the child care center? What would Miss Mindian think if she had a mother like you?”
“What kind of eyes your colleagues will look at you with, you may have imagined them by now. So good luck, our Boss is waiting for your response, this is the last time I'm here to talk about this if you're stubborn… then you know Flora, your life will be like a withered flower.”
I silently listened to him, my mind was like a mess, and despair was beginning to spread throughout my body. I don't know when they left, his words kept on turning my head.
Finally, I called Roy - the lawyer, and asked him for help.

At a small café in the corner of the city, Min and I sat at the most hidden table in the bar, because I was afraid I would be noticed by Enzo's men. Roy arrived on time, he was tall and thin and looked very relaxed and gentle, and I stood up and greeted him awkwardly:
“Hi, I'm Flora, who called you earlier, thank you for coming to see me.”
“You keep calling me Roy, it's nice to meet you,” Roy smiled softly.
After the greeting, I didn't want to take the time to go around, so I told my problems even though my ex-husband was Enzo - CEO of the DIZ Group. I begged Roy to help me because for the past two months Enzo's subordinates had driven me so mad that I had to take sleeping pills to sleep, my health was getting worse and worse, and if I continued to be threatened like this so I will die.
Roy listened to my story, he nodded and said mechanically:
“I see. Is there anything else to do with this? I need to know everything and make sure that what you say is absolutely true.”
I quickly nodded like a chicken pecked paddy and pleaded to look at him, voice shaking:
“Please… please help me, I can't go on living like this anymore… I can't lose my daughter… As long as you help me… I'll pay any amount…”
