Heaven's POV
Although she came out of Kayden's office, trying to keep a humble and calm composure. It was obvious that she was pissed off.
The look on her face was just priceless, her cheeks had already turned red, with a swollen face.
She maintained her cool, clenching her fists, and grinding her teeth from side to side, as she walked to her seat.
I wonder why she got so mad, after coming out of his office.
Could it be that he was rude to her? Or maybe he said something he shouldn't have said to her? Either way, she must have deserved whatever treatment he gave her.
She wanted to prove high and mighty.
I looked at my watch, it was already lunchtime. I dipped my hand into my bag, only for me to discover that I had forgotten my launch at the castle
With all the drama that was going on there, I simply forgot to pack my lunch.
This is all Kayden's fault, he was the one rushing me to leave.
What was I going to eat now? I squeezed my face, there was nothing I hated more than hunger.
I don't think I would be able to go the whole day without eating any food, I have to think of something soon.
The atmosphere suddenly changed, and employees who were discussing earlier suddenly stopped their discussions.
I raised my head, to see what was happening. But for some reason, the first person I turned to look at was Kayden's secretary, she was already smiling. Why was she smiling so much?.
Could it be that her initial facial expression, her anger and everything just an act to deceive me?.
She seemed to be staring in a particular direction for far too long, so I slowly moved my head to see what had caught her attention so much.
Kayden was slowly walking in our direction with a bouquet of red and pink roses.
They simply looked beautiful, I just loved the combination. It was very rear, but indeed it was a feast for the eyes.
But who were they for? And why was he staring at his secretary like that? Maybe he bought the flowers for her, I didn't waste much time, as I quickly averted my eyes from his direction.
It made me sad to see her smiling at him like that.
I didn't know why, but it made me so jealous, after all, he is my husband and not hers. But, I didn't have any right to be jealous or feel anything. I'm not sure I even had a right to do as little as have my own thoughts.
Kayden reached where we were seated, and I turned my face away. I knew the flowers weren't for me. So, I felt there was no need to sit down there, and watch them act romantically towards each other.
Now, it was clear why she was so confident that he would fire me, just because she wants him to.
I attempted to stand up from my chair, but he held me back and furrowed his eyebrows.
What is it now? What does he want now? As if, showcasing his relationship with his secretary, isn't enough. Does he still insist on doing it in my presence?.
"What is it my princess? Why are you leaving? I brought these flowers for you" he didn't seem happy, that I wanted to leave the moment he arrived.
His words came as a shock to me, he didn't even bother to lower his voice. It was as if he wanted everyone in the office to hear our conversation.
"I am talking to you" he spoke up again, when he noticed that I turned to look back. It was funny, but I just needed to confirm that he wasn't talking to someone else, I wouldn't want to embarrass myself in front of everyone like that.
I just had to check if he was talking to someone behind me or not, I needed to be sure, before saying anything to him.
"Sit" he urged me, his urge was more like a command. I didn't take my eyes off him, as I sat back down on my chair very slowly.
"Do you like them?" He asked me as if he wouldn't know that. He always knows what was on my mind, so what was his reason for asking me now?.
"Just answer me, I want to hear it from your lips" he whispered. Oh! So now he whispers. He wasn't whispering when he was giving me the flowers, or calling me princess.
"I love them" I smiled, and he kissed me on the forehead, while he handed me the flowers. Does he know that we are in the office, and everyone is busy staring at us like we are some kind of premier movie?.
"How is your day going, wifey?" He took a seat beside me, raising his voice as he spoke.
Wifey? Did he just call me wifey? When did he start doing that? Okay, it is either I am dreaming, or I have been shifted to another universe. Maybe, I should just pinch myself to check.
"Ouch!" I yelped in pain, when I felt someone pinch me.
"It is not a dream, it is reality. I was just helping you confirm that, if you know what I mean" Kayden had a dirty smirk on his face. This guy wasn't normal, I always had my doubts about his normality, but now I am sure.
"I don't understand you, earlier on you complained that I didn't let people know you are my wife. And now that I have decided to let people know, you are now feeling uneasy" he shook his head.
"It's true what they say, you can never be able to understand a woman" he smirked.
I narrowed my gaze, if only I had the strength, I would have punched him for that statement.
I just sat there quietly with the flowers in my hands, playing with them.
My stomach suddenly grumbled, and I clenched my stomach in embarrassment. That wasn't lady like it, he is surely going to get back at me, when we get home, for bringing him this kind of embarrassment.
"Are you hungry?" he asked me, not taking his eyes off his phone, not even for a second.
"I'm fine" I pressed my lips, I was too ashamed to even say it out loud.
"That doesn't answer my question. I asked you if you are hungry, and not if you are sick.
Those are two different questions, and you haven't answered the one I asked you." he kept on pressing his phone. I wonder what he was doing that took all of his attention.
"I am very hungry," I said in a whispering voice.
I didn't want him to hear me, but at the same time, I wanted him to hear me. I don't know…I was just confused. It was a very awkward moment for me.
"Pizza or burger?" He asked suddenly.
I don't have the money to buy something like that. Oh gosh! What kind of trouble have I landed myself into?.
"I didn't ask if you have the money or not, which would you prefer to have for your lunch?" He raised an eyebrow.
I f*cking wanted a burger and a mini pizza, I know it's crazy, but it's all I wanted. But, since he is the one paying for it, I guess it would only be proper to just ask for one.
"I have already placed the order, '' he informed me.
Order for what? I didn't say anything.
"You think too much wifey" he moved some strands of my hair behind my ear.
I looked at my feet, I do enjoy it when he calls me wifey or princess. But, I was indeed shy, and in public for that matter.
Oh gosh! I didn't know how I was supposed to react. Should I be happy that he is no longer ashamed of the relationship, or paranoid because now, my colleagues at work won't treat me the same way again?.
They might end up treating me even worse than they did before.
The anger I could sense coming from his secretary was something else, I could practically see steams coming out from her head. I didn't see them actually, but it was fun to imagine her looking that way.
I heard a chuckle from Kayden, and I guessed he must have read my thoughts as usual.
