She was so anxious that she forgot about the pain in her right leg. She ran so fast that Drake also ran after her because it worried him. When she arrives in front of the teacher’s office, it surprise Natty to see her mother cursing and insulting Gale. She couldn’t stay still and went straight in and tried to put her mom down.
“Mom, what are you doing here? Let’s go!” said Natty while trying to pull her mom out, but her mother pulled her hand and looked at Natty with her eyes flushed.
“I can’t just walk away, I have to sue this witch and punish her because she’s already had an evil influence on you. I won’t stop until she gets away from you! She’s a very evil witch! Unlucky bearer and evil influence!” said Ms Natty, scolding Gale while pointing at her face and shaming Gale in front of other teachers.
Natty feels deeply disappointed and embarrassed by her mom’s actions that made a fuss at school. She is so fed up with her mom’s childish behavior and makes a fuss by treating all the places as courts where she stands in robes while making a show on stage.
Natty feels greatly disappointed in her mom who loves to blame others and never behaves like an adult. She never even existed when Natty needed her, now suddenly making a fuss while referring to herself as a mom. Natty is even sadder because she looks at her mom continuing to insult the girl she loves as an evil influence-carrying witch, and she looks at for herself how Gale remains silent and accepts all those insults like a guilty person.
“Stop, stop, stop! I told you to stop it. You’ve never been a mom so why is you acting like a mother suddenly? Who do you think you can insult her at will? Your nobody, but she’s the one I love. Yes, I love her so if you want to get furious or err just do it to me. Don’t attack her...” Natty said in an angry tone while yelling at her mom.
Natty’s views are flushed, she’s been venting her emotions. But from the eyes that are staring sharply, it looks hurts and sorrows in it like someone who brought up the pain she had long suppressed. In those beautiful eyes, there was a grudge, but wounds and suffering filled most of her eyes.
Natty’s mother was shocked to hear how Natty considers herself. It hurts so much and the pain is inexplicable. She wanted to cry, but her tears couldn’t flow. She hasn’t spoken to her daughter in a long time, but when she talks she hears how she sees herself. The pain parents receive when they know their child hates them so much is the greatest pain a parent can accept. In fact, it made her unable to say anything.
Gale, standing behind Natty, holds Natty’s hand and tries to make her feel calmer. But that makes Mrs. Natty even more upset. She removes Gale’s hand from Natty’s hand forcefully even as she pulls Natty.
“You stop approaching my daughter and give her evil influence. I'm not going to let you go near her again, you witch!” said Natty's mother yelling at Gale.
“I told you to stop insulting her! I never expected anything from you, but I'm really disappointed... You make me regret being born to someone like you.” Natty said.
Natty's mother can see the disappointment felt by Natty. And she felt very hurt when she heard Natty say it. But she still doesn't blame Natty or scold her. Instead, she blamed Gale, derided her as a bad influence and even threatened to report this to the education ministry.
Natty's mother pulls Natty out and takes her home forcefully. Even when she heard Natty moaning, she kept her car running. Acting like she doesn't care at all and putting on a tough face even though she's actually constantly hurting because of everything Natty says.
Once at the house Natty immediately locked herself in the room. She went on a rampage and destroyed everything in her room. She screamed, ruffled her hair until she finally felt tired and lay in her bed. She closed her eyes with her right arm but her tears were still running high.
Natty remembers Gale, she then grabbed her phone and called Gale. She called and kept calling but still wasn't picked up. She was distressed and angry at the same time. It's very hard for her as well as Gale, let alone their relationship unfolding in a awful way. They both know there's not going to be a happy ending for them right now. It's all clear how their relationship is ending and the more it becomes clearer it makes their worries and fears even greater with desperation.
For a few days Natty kept locking herself in the room. She refused to talk as well to eat and it made her mother very anxious. She kept knocking on the door of the room and asked Natty to come out and eat. But all she received was silence, Natty didn't answer it at all.
Natty was just lying in her room like the undead, she seemed to have no desire to live. She just lay down day and night staring at her phone. She kept trying to call Gale, but all her calls were ignored and never picked up. Natty is drowning in her grief and even her swollen legs no longer care.
Until finally, her phone rang. Natty immediately grabs her phone quickly and when she sees Drake's name, she gets back moody and loses her spirit. Even so, she picked up Drake's phone and wished she could ask Drake about Gale.
“Nat, this is bad. Looks like Mrs. Gale was fired as a disciplinary action and a punishment she received. Mrs Gale is picking up her things, I think she’s leaving today.” Drake said.
Natty rushed to get her hoodie jacket and opened her bedroom door. She rushed to the bus stop even though the pain in her leg was excruciating. 20 minutes sitting in the bus seats she keeps praying, hoping she’ll be able to meet Gale. She was desperate to change things, so they could stay together and if she couldn’t resolve anything, at least she could see Gale one last time and say goodbye.
