Keenan's POV
When I return to the hotel an hour later, I do not see a trace of Rory in the hotel room after searching everywhere he could have possibly gone to, I know I was crazy to think Rory wasn't going to do something crazy like visit Taylor again.
Every time I think that he's changed, he manages to prove to me that he is still the same stubborn and crazy bastard I've known him to be all these years.
Why is he so stubborn?! Why can't he just listen to me for once in his goddamn life?
He's in love, and desperate, you will do the same if you were in his shoes. My inner voice tells me.
I make my way outside and into my car in the parking lot. The rain is still pouring heavily and I fear for what might have happened to Rory. I more than anyone knows how being outside especially at this time is dangerous for him.
I try to think positively and hope that at least he's with Taylor now but I know Taylor is still not over her hate and will not even let him in if God came down and told her to, so why would he put himself into such great risk. Why would he trust Taylor to be the better person after everything she's put him through
I know he's in love and so hoping for her affection and forgiveness, but isn't there a limit to love?
I hear a clicking sound behind me and when I turn around I see a woman with blonde hair holding a camera and she takes even more pictures as I turn to look at her.
"Bitch, it's fucking raining! Don't you have a life?"
"Well, this is my life." comes her annoying high-pitched reply.
Oh, wow!
I shake my head in disbelief, I turn and enter into the car, before driving off. I speed up to Rory's previous home now belonging to Taylor and I silently keep praying that Taylor had a change of heart and didn't leave Rory locked outside her house.
After about fifteen minutes of driving through the stormy rain, I arrive at the gate and I run down. Not seeing anything because of the heavy rain, I walk closer to the gate and there is Rory, on the ground, covers and being swept over by the rain flooding down the street.
"Oh, God! No!" a cry escape my mouth and I get down from my car and race towards him. I immediately get soaked in the rain and cold grip me to the core and try taking him up when I see flashes of light from behind I turn around to see more paparazzi about five of them. The blonde chick I spotted earlier at the hotel, also in the rain with their cameras. I try to ignore them while I try to take him up from the water-filled road, but when I try, I realise my strength isn't enough to carry him. I let him go and approach the only male among the group of desperate reporters who keeps taking constant pictures, and I grab him by the shirt.
His eyes widen and fear is written all over his face, "Don't hurt me, please," he pleads, raising his hands in surrender.
I take a deep breath and clench my teeth before saying, "I promise I won't knock your teeth out if you help me."
He nods still filled with fear, "What should I do?" he asks and his mouth quiver and I wonder if it's from cold or fear but this time I go with cold.
"Come." is all I say and pull him along to the gate with his collar.
"Oh my gosh! Is he dead?" he asks in sudden panic immediately he sees Rory on the road covered with the rain. Hearing him refer to Rory with the dead word makes me want to just knock him out and I would have done that if I didn't need his help.
"No, he's not!" I shout at him, "just help me take him into the car please."
Without another word, we carry Rory's unconscious body into the car and I close the door and not saying another word to him or the rest of his crew, I drive off.
My eyes sting and my heart is hammering against my chest with fear I've never felt before. "Rory, don't die please, don't die, bro, I beg of you."
The General hospital is a five-minute drive and when I park my car in the shade of the parking lot, I open the door and pull Rory onto my shoulders with all of my might and race my way inside the hospital as fast as I can.
"Help, help, please help." I cry out and the nurses around the counter and two doctors around the ward run over to me, grabbing onto a stretcher as they get closer and when they reach where I am, they help take Rory off my shoulder and lay him on the stretcher. "Help him, please save him." I follow behind them as they roll him off.
"What happened to him?" one of the two doctors asks while the other and the nurses rush Rory into one of the rooms.
I stop walking because I realise there is nothing I can do from here on, so I turn to the doctor that just asked the question. "He's got Coronary heart disease (CHD) and he was exposed."
The doctor nods and goes the way that the rest went through and he walks into the ward where Rory was taken into.
After filling up the form the nurse gave me, it occurs to me that I have to call everyone and alert them of what is happening now. I had suggested this to Rory four days ago, but he didn't want everyone finding out just how that he had lost everything, including Taylor and Reign. Even when Phoebe found out, he told her it was a minor issue they were trying to resolve and made her promise not to tell anyone. He said it was his burden to bear alone and he stubbornly made it his alone.
He just didn't think of what that would do to everyone else, that selfish prick!
The rain subsides a little and I make my way to my car to get my phone when I notice the minivan of the paparazzi earlier at the gate pull up. I don't see the other car though I saw it earlier and neither do I pay much mind to it. I open my car and take out my phone and I see them get down, but none is holding a camera this time. I spot the young man who had helped me earlier and I walk towards him.
He moves back a little in reflex when he sees me, then he stops and I walk to him. "What's your name?" I ask, stretching my hand out for a shake.
He narrows his eyes suspiciously at my hand and he gulps nervously, "It's George." he answers, before taking my hand in his for a shake.
I manage to give him a less murderous smile and squeeze his hand harder and he whimpers aloud. "Nice name, I'd advice you and your friends to find somewhere else to get E! gossip from because this is a hospital and my friend and brother is in there fighting for his life and I'm angry, but" my grip gets harder with every word and his eyes are glassy, "I will not mind using my anger to send someone to their early grave. Hope we are clear." I let go of his hand and he quickly wraps his other hand around it to massage it in order to ease the pain.
He whimpers, "We have been following you that's true, but that's not what we are doing now."
My brow rises as I stare at him, "What are you doing now?"
"Today is the first time in my life that I had to help someone in need and although not helping people is not something I'm proud to admit, I think I can start somewhere. All of us here except Clarissa who took our camera and the other cars to go break the news to the world, is here to see if we can help." I glance at every one of their faces and realises the blonde chick isn't here.
I know she was annoying from the very beginning.
"There is not much you can do here," I reply, my voice much calmer than a while ago. "I'm about to inform the members of his family what has happened."
"We can help with that." A young brunette lady who looks to be in her early twenties speaks up.
"Come then," I tell them and we walk back into the hospital.
