Four Days Later
Night of the Engagement party.
"Someone is looking a bit nervous for the night." My dad says, poking his head through the door to look at me and I sigh, throwing my body on the bed where there are clothes currently piled up.
"I feel like a fucking girl, dad, I don't know what to wear." I lament, my eyes are still close as I feel him walk from the door to where I am laying down.
The past thirty-minute has been hell, I've been trying to look for a perfect outfit for the night, but all my effort seems to be worthless. None of the suit or tuxedos I'd gotten the previous day seem to match my taste for the night, and as happy as I am for the night, I am incredibly careful not to appear in anything horrible.
I can't even begin to imagine Taylor getting mad at me; I might literally just have a heart attack and die on the spot.
Dad just chuckles and pats my shoulder, and I crack an eye open to give him a weird look, "Well you don't have to be a girl to feel that way, it completely natural that you're nervous, it means you're happy and want things to go well."
"I must say I haven't seen you want anything this so much in the past years that isn't in the bottle."
My face heats up and an embarrassing blush appears on my face, "Dad, come on, it's my engagement night cut me some slack."
"I'm not just talking about just today son." He picks up a blue longs sleeve and a black tuxedo and hands them to me. "You've changed a lot and that makes me happy."
I collect the long sleeve and begin putting it on, "Well, everybody deserves to feel happy at least once in their life with the one they love. I'm pretty sure you felt that way on the day of your engagement to mom."
His weak blue eyes dim a little as my question appears to have hit a nerve. Dad decided to file for divorce about a years ago when he found out she was involved in the death of Martha Snowfall, Taylor's mother, and although there was no lead or connection of mom to the crime, he just couldn't live in the marriage any longer. They finalized their divorce about six months ago and the only place they get to meet now is through businesses and the running of things.
"Well, your mom was one of the change I got to experience in my life she was young, innocent, and always had a beautiful view of the world and somehow, her views affected mine and made me want to do something that the whole world can benefit in and I did." He sighs heavily, "I won't say I don't love her anymore because that would just be a lie and I still do love her, but staying away is better than staying together now." He picks up a navy blue tie with white stripes and hands it to me and I put it around my neck, "I just want to say I wish you the very best, joy, love happiness."
I hug him quickly before I can develop a change of heart, my arms wrapping around him tightly, "Thank you, Dad, and I don't just mean with you helping me pick the right clothes but with everything."
He chuckles richly and pats my back softly, "You're welcome, son"

Taylor decided to have the engagement at her house because it was large and able to accommodate the number of guests and I had to agree because it was big enough to accommodate the seventy guest invited to the engagement.
The guests are all present at the party and I patiently wait for Taylor to come down to meet the guest and although, wanting to see her I hold myself together, knowing she'll be out here any moment. I did send an invitation card to Jack and Phoebe, but so far I haven't seen either of them and I only hope they make it over.
I take a glass of wine from the waiter and I take it to my mouth, hoping to quickly drink my anxiousness away.
"It's your night, bro," Jack says and I turn to see him standing all dressed up and beside him is Phoebe. "Nervous?" he asks, eyeing the wine in my hand.
I sigh and rub my free left palm over my face, "I really am, I'm not sure she's in there, but I know she is." I ramble ridiculously.
"Everything will be fine," he replies with a comforting tap on my shoulder.
My eyes leave Jack to meet Phoebe who has been silent since they approached me. She is beautiful as always in the red mini gown that reaches her knee and hugs her perfectly, displaying both her curves and her growing baby bump.
"Phoebe, I'm really sorry-"
She smiles and shakes her head, "It's okay, Rory, you don't have to keep apologising. I get it and besides, I don't think I would have ever been happier with him than I with Jack now."
A wide smile spread across my face as she says this and the joy of finally being on good terms fills me up, but as I open my mouth to say something when I hear a small gasp from the few crowds and I turn around to see Taylor standing at the top of the stairs in all her glory, looking nothing less than what I know her to be, beyond beautiful.
Her spark can be felt from all the four corners of the room, but she pays them no regard as she climbs down the stairs her brownish-black long hair she allows fall freely and her lips red even with the light lipstick on her full lips, her grey eyes captivating as well as enchanting, there is a black necklace around her neck and it makes wider her bare shoulder. Her long black handless gown flows behind as she walks down and I walk to the bottom of the stairs and stretching my hand out to her and she takes with a small smile as she climbs down to meet everyone.
She's the embodiment of both grace and beauty and I'm truly lucky she's mine.
"You're beautiful tonight." I can't help the compliment that rolls off my tongue and she just smiles freely.
"Well, thanks and you are looking quite charming tonight as well."
We announced the engagement and then we announced the wedding which would be in three weeks and without wasting much time, we get on to meeting our guests and thanking them for coming.
"Thanks for coming, Phoebe, Jack," Taylor tells them as she mildly touches Phoebe's arm.
"I'm so glad you too are finally together at last." she answers, "I know the wedding will be better, I'll personally make sure of that."
Taylor's eyes travel from Phoebe and never return as they now focus on something-someone and her eyes dim in interest and slowly I follow her eyes across the room where hers has gone and when my eyes get to where hers are, I see who had taken her focus and concentration is none other but Keenan.
