Lana Castroff
Maldives was really fun and I really love Phoenix's family. They're really funny, loud and just completely the definition of family that I've always wanted. When I came home, I was greeted by my father who was totally mad about me marring Phoenix.
He knew that it was an act because he found out about Phoenix's lawsuit against us for our product but I couldn't careless. I don't care if he's mad or disappointed at me but he has to know that he hurt me enough already.
"Are you okay?" I turned to Phoenix and he just got home from work. I smiled shaking my head and he just went upstairs straight to his room.
Having Phoenix as a husband was quite nice. He treated me right and not trying to take advantange on me. Even though we're just helping each other out, he's still nice and I really thankful for that.
"Shit!" I hissed when I accidently cut my hand. I turned on the water and ran the cut with water. I checked the cut and it was quite deep. I looked around and tried to open the cabinet one by one to look for an emergency kit.
Where is it?
I grabbed some tissue and tried to stop the bleeding. I kept trying to find the emergency kit when Phoenix walked down. "What happened?" He asked as he grabbed my hand checking the cut.
He immediately grabbed the emergency kit from the drawer in the living room. He led me to sit on the sofa and quickly treat my cut. "I think you should stop cooking for a while." He said.
"It's fine." I said.
"There you go."
"Thankyou." I said and he closed the emergency kit. He put it on the table and he leaned back to the sofa.
"Phoenix." That reminded me to say something about Julie. I got more information about her from my PI and I don't. That's a good sign.
"I'm currently look into Julie and I actually found some.. intere-"
"Julie? Why are you looking into Julie?" He cut me.
"I found her very suspicious because she's working with you and she recommended Finn to use my product for his hotel chain in Greece." I said and he raised his eyebrows.
"Lana, just because she's a commoner and happened to be dating the man thay you used to love, it doesn't mean you can be suspicious at her like that. You don't know her that well so don't try to pin point at someone when it's your company fault that your products have acid. Look into your employees not mine." He hissed angrily as he got up from the sofa.
"I suggest you to look into her, Phoenix." I said loud enough for him to hear from the kitchen.
"You need to stop being suspicious with her. She's a really nice girl." He defended her and I sighed. I guess since he doesn't believe in me, I don't have any other choice but go alone in this situation then.
I grabbed my phone and decided to take a night walk because I'm quite stress out from working. I really need some fresh air and maybe eat an ice cream. I walked out from the penthouse and got into the lift. I was looking at my cut finger when the lift door opened. The man and his dog entered and I checked my phone to see where I should go.
"What happened to your finger?" I flinched a bit when he suddenly asked. I turned to him and I was shocked to see a really good looking man.
"I cut myself earlier." When the door opened he closed it again.
"Hey.. what are you doing?" I asked.
"I'm a doctor and I think that's not the right way to treat a cut." He said pointing at my finger. He pressed his apartment floor again.
"I don't trust you." I said looking at him suspiciously. He showed me his ID when happened to be on his shirt. He told that he was actually going to the hospital to drop some file but that could wait.
He invited me to his apartment that happened to be 8 floors below Phoenix's. He entered the passcode and opened the door gesturing me to walk in first. He let his dog go in and he closed the door.
"You live here?" He asked as he led me to sit on the sofa.
"Yes." I answered and I looked around to see how nice his apartment is. It's really cozy and really.. homey.
"Wait here, I'll get my kit first." He said and I nodded. I turned to the window when I heard thunder. It's starting to rain and I can't help but wanting to go back to my room and sleep.
"I'm Hugo by the way." He said as he walked back to the living room with a kit. He sat down and checked my finger opening the bandaids that Phoenix gave me earlier.
"I'm Lana."
"You seem familiar but I can't put my finger on it." He said as he threw the bandages full of blood to the table. He looked at the cut and he turned to me.
"I think I have to stitch this because it's quite deep. Let's sterilize the finger first." He said as he put a small bucket under my finger amd poured an alcohol on it. It stung and I bit my lip holding the pain.
"Did you bandage that yourself?" He asked as he treated ny cut slowly.
"No, my friend did."
"You should have go to the hospital right away. It's a deep cut, you have yo treat it right or it will infect you." Hugo said as he smiled at me. I smiled back and thanked him.
"So.. what floor do you live in?" He asked.
"Penthouse."
"Penthouse? I thought Phoenix is living there.. I guess he-"
"No, he's my friend. I happened to be needing a place to stay since me and my father are not in a really good terms." I had to lie or he will be suspicious.
"Oh.. I see."
"Yes, it's only temporary so.. when the family matters is settle, I will move out." I said and he started to stitch me slowly.
"Well.. can I ask for your number then? Maybe we could go out have dinner together." I chuckeld hearing him say that.
"Sure.."
