Derek struggled to open his eyes, there were buzzes and lots of noise, he opened his eyes and squinted against the daylight, he vaguely realized that he was moving and people were surrounding him, he was on a stretcher and soon he was placed inside an ambulance, someone must have informed the police, Kathleen, those men have taken her, he tried to sit up but fell back as his eyes shut, trying to withstand the pain he was feeling on his head, "please don't try to move, you're greatly injured" a medic tried to hold him down, "Kathleen.. " he tried to pronounce her name but his mouth was too heavy to obey him, he was drifting and he fought against the wave, he had to get to Kathleen, "find Kathleen" he rasped before the darkness dragged him under.
"I told you not to do anything to Derek" Marcella's angry voice made the men shift on their feet with their heads bowed, she had met with them after they had taken Kathleen to where she had instructed them, she was furious, if anything happens to Derek then her plans will all go to the drains, "we're sorry ma'am" they apologized but it only aggravated her the more, she whirled on them, "how could you be so stupid? Kathleen was only just a tool to make Derek sign the papers that I want, and you guys put him in such a critical state, now I'll have to wait some more, fools" she screeched
"Calm down mom, don't get so worked up over this, Derek is not one to die so easily or we could feign his signature on those papers" Dave placed his hand on his mother's shoulder and Marcella sucked in two uneven breathe as she considered Dave's suggestion, she shook her head, "no, Derek is not stupid, he would see to it that it doesn't stand, besides, having the original is the real deal, he won't be able to do anything about it, not even in the future"
Dave shrugged, "in that case, we'll wait for him to recover and then do the needful"
Marcella nodded, "we already have his beloved, he would do anything to
For her, in the meantime, we just have to keep a close eye on her" she turned on the men still standing and awaiting her orders, "go, make sure you keep an eye on her, more mistake" they nodded eagerly as they shuffled away to do her biddings, Dave smiled at his mom placing a kiss on her cheeks and she rolled her eyes"what's that for young man?"
"That's for being so intelligent, I still can't believe you have this all planned out, I love your guts mom" Marcella hit Dave playfully on his shoulders, "stop with your sweet talk, let's go, make sure your wife doesn't know about this" Dave made a gesture with his hand indicating that his lips are sealed.
Tasha watched Dave preparing to go out, something has been off with him this past week and she wondered what it was, well she was going to find out, she glanced at the time and it was almost midnight, where could he be going by this time, she feigned a yawn and closed her eyes pretending to be asleep.
Dave watched her for some time, he must have bought her act to be asleep because he nodded to himself as he picked up his key and left the room. Seconds ticked passed before she threw away the bed cover and followed him out.
Kathleen heard footsteps coming towards her, she had been held here for days but has always been put on sedative by those awful men, she had asked them what exactly they want from her but had gotten no reply from them until now she still does not know why she was kidnapped she was just coming out from her slumber when she heard the footsteps, her stomach growled amidst the danger she was in, although she doesn't feel like eating but she guessed her belly doesn't wanna hear that she had only eaten the dried bread and water they gave her that morning, she thought if Derek and tears welled in her eyes, she hope he was still alive. Booted feet finally stood before her and her eyes slowly travel up, expecting to see one of those men may be here to administer another sedative but to her greatest surprise she saw a very known face, "Dave?" She whispered shocked beyond words and he smiled wickedly
"Now you're at my mercy," he bent in front of her as he smirked
"It was you all along? Why?" She shook her head as if to clear her confusion and he laughed mirthlessly.
"You dare to ask why? You've forgotten so soon how you humiliated me so soon, you stood me up on the alter and you think you can get away with that?"
"But Dave, we weren't compatible and you knew it, there wasn't any love left for us, wasn't it better we spared each other a lifetime of pain by moving on?
Dave placed a hand on her neck, "you were a whore and had remained so and despite that, I loved you and even made sure to extend my generosity to your leach of a family, you were just an ungrateful little bitch and it's time for payback"
"What are you going to do with me Dave," she asked, fear Lacing her voice and he smiled wickedly, his eyes taking on an unholy light and she shivered, "what do you think baby? It's time to collect my dues".
Kathleen turned her face away from him, she would have used her fist on him but her hands were tied behind her and her feet were also bound but her gesture portrayed rejection and Dave's face twisted as it formed angry lines, he dealt her two slaps, "you still considers yourself untouchable right? Let me see how you'll escape from me" his hands gripped her breast so hard and pain skyrocketed to her brain as she tried to twist away from him amidst her restraint, "stop with your struggles, i didn't have you before but now I'll make you mine, I'll have you how I want it" he rasped furiously as his hand groped under her clothes and he kissed her so hard but ended up yelling in pain as she bit him hard on his lips, he struck her face so hard that Kathleen head swarm and she fought against the dizziness, "you're such a beast" she managed in a weak whisper, he was about to utter some words when a sound stopped him, she breathe a sigh of relief when he got up to investigate the sound.
Tasha had followed Dave and was shocked at what she had just witnessed, so Dave was the one who had Kathleen kidnapped, the sight of him trying to have his way with her made her blood boil, how dare he do this to her? What beast of a man was he? This was her chance to pay him back for his ill treatment of her, she would inform the police of what she had just seen and maybe Derek would even pay her a huge sum of money for saving his wife, she would quietly leave here without him knowing. She had just taken two steps when she stepped on something, she heard Dave paused and knew he had heard the sound, her heart thudded hard in her chest as she heard his footsteps coming towards her, she had witnessed a major crime and it had dawn on her finally what Dave was capable of, she knew it would be the end of her if he finds her here, she had to get out of here, she quickly turned on her heels to leave when his cold voice stopped her, "going so soon?" He asked in a deadly whisper sending chills down her spine.
"Dave...I....I...." She stammered not sure exactly what to say, the look on his face made the hairs on her nape stand on an end, he took few strides towards her and to hell with it, she ran as fast as her legs could aid her, but she hadn't gone anywhere when she felt an intensed pain on her chest, her breathing constricted in her throat and she gasped painfully as she stared down her chest, blood, she has been shot from behind, another shot was fired and she fell on her knees, struggling to breath but it was too difficult, tears dropped from the corner of her eyes and in a flash, she regretted everything she did to Kathleen, she guessed karma has it's way, who would have thought she would die in the hand of the man she had betrayed her best friend for, "I'm sorry Kathleen" she gasped as she took her last breath and her eyes glazed over.
Dave stood in front of her and watched until she took in her last and made call to one of the men to clear the warehouse of her body, his eyes never showing any remorse or regret that he had just taken the life of his wife.
