Rose had made it seem like she had long moved on from the betrayal she experienced at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, Ryan.
She had shown them she had built a successful career and found happiness with her loving husband, Alfonso. However, she never knew fate had something unexpected in store for her.
It looks like his betrayal did not even start with having an affair with her best friend; it was something more than anyone could ever expect or think of.
Alfonso had stumbled upon information about Ryan's fraudulent activities through a trusted friend. Realizing this could expose him for the deceitful person he was, he devised a plan alone to help bring Ryan down once and for all.
He wanted to see her happy; he had seen pictures of her on the internet. She had a wide smirk glued to her face—smiles that he had never seen on her since the day he had saved her.
He knew that the only way to uncover Ryan's fraudulent activities was to get him into their company, and for that, he needed to trust him.
He approached Rose with an audacious proposition: to offer Ryan a contract job, working closely on a project that would not only help him but also her. He refused to explain why he wanted Ryan in his company.
Rose was understandably hesitant about involving her ex-fiancee so close to their lives again. The pain and betrayal from the past still lingered, causing her to question whether it was worth taking such a risk. But after much contemplation, she realized that Alfonso might as well be up to a plan of his own to help her out in exposing the both of them.
With a heavy heart, Rose agreed to Alfonso's plan. They carefully orchestrated an irresistible contract offer tailored exclusively to Ryan's expertise and skills. Knowing he wouldn't be able to resist the opportunity, they sent him an offer they knew he couldn't refuse.
Ryan accepted the contract and joined the company.
Alfonso knew he had to keep a close eye on his actions. He knew It wouldn't take long for his true colors to emerge, and he was right.
Ryan meticulously carried out his fraudulent activities, unaware that every step he took was being closely monitored.
Rose and Alfonso discreetly collected evidence of Ryan's fraudulent activities, making sure to document every detail. They knew that proving his guilt beyond a shadow of a doubt was essential for their plan to succeed and bring justice to those affected by his deceit.
The day came when Alfonso had accumulated enough evidence against Ryan. He sent them to the board, asking for an investigation to be made against Ryan.
As the truth emerged about Ryan's fraudulent activities within the company, panic consumed him. Fearful of the consequences awaiting him, he resorted to desperate measures to salvage his crumbling world. With a heavy heart and a mind clouded with desperation, Ryan turned towards his fake fiancée, Selena, as an unwilling ally in his battle against the tides of impending doom.
One stormy evening, as rain poured down outside, Ryan and Selena sat in their dimly lit living room, tension palpable between them. The weight of his misdeeds hung heavily in the air, suffocating their already troubled lives.
Ryan's voice trembled with a mix of guilt and fear as he broke the silence. "Selena, I'm so sorry for everything that has happened. I never meant for it to come to this point... but we're running out of options, and I was trying to secure as much as I could."
Selena's eyes glistened with tears, and her voice was laced with equal parts disappointment and anger. "Ryan, how could you do this? We were supposed to keep our profile low for the time being. I told you, Ryan, to be careful for the time being, didn't I? I can't believe you've jeopardized everything." She yelled, gripping out her hair in frustration as she tried to calm her fast-beat heart down.
Desperation etched onto his face, Ryan stood up, grabbed her hands, andtightened his grip on her trembling hands. "I know what I did was wrong, Selena. But you have to understand that if we don't find a way to fix this, our future will be destroyed. They're threatening legal action, bankruptcy, etc.I need your help."
Selena recoiled at the intensity in Ryan's voice and the realization that he was now using their shared bond to manipulate her.
"Ryan, I can't believe you're asking me to be a part of this; this is your problem; you fix it on your own." she said, her voice quivering with a mix of anger and fear.
"What you did was stupid, and I won't allow myself to be dragged down with you."
Ryan's eyes darkened as frustration gripped him. His desperation intensified, clouding his judgment. "Selena, you don't understand. If we don't find a way to clear this up, then we stand a chance of losing everything. I'm begging you; please help me."
Selena pulled away, her voice resolute yet tinged with sadness. "No, Ryan. I won't become an accomplice to your actions. I won't risk my own integrity and reputation for your sake. I know we need to face the consequences of our mistakes, but this time, this one is on you."
As Selena stood her ground, Ryan's initial desperation morphed into anger. He clenched his fists, his face contorting with a mixture of resentment and despair. "Fine, if that's your decision, then have it your way, but don't come back yelling at me if I ruin any other things."
Selena thought of his words but refused to let his threats sway her. She knew deep down that enabling Ryan's actions would only prolong the pain and damage they both might face.
Regret mingled with the knowledge that it was his own actions that had brought him to this dire moment. Why did he accept the request to work with Rose and Alfonso in the first place? He couldn't help but ask himself.
Yes, the contract was welcoming, but they might have forgotten for a moment that there was every possibility that they were after them.
That thought brought him to the conclusion that all that has been happening in their lives recently might not just have been a coincidence; what if those two somehow had something to do with it and her working together?
He stood at Selena's doorway, his eyes widening as he saw the figure of two people across the road in a parked car snuggling under the rain.
