Holding the DNA report Aurin's whole body was trembling like any time she will collapse on the floor. Tears started flowing down her cheeks like a never-ending stream while she was breathing uncontrollably.
Maryam's daughter's DNA matched with Mikaeel's DNA. And, after reading the report Aurin felt like the whole earth has collapsed in front of her.
" Where is the restroom?" Aurin asked one of the nurses.
The nurse showed her the restroom and Aurin didn't waste another second. Entering the restroom she shut the door hurriedly and vomited everything she ate in the morning. Imagining Mikaeel with Maryam, Aurin felt nausea and threw up everything. Splashing some water on her face Aurin looked at her reflection in the mirror and burst into tears.
" He lied to me! He cheated on me!" Aurin whispered feeling her heart twisting inside her chest.
Lowering her head Aurin remembered her moments with Mikaeel, his words, his promises and then this DNA report. Remembering all these Aurin felt like destroying everything. She still can't believe that he fathered Maryam's baby and even lied to her. How can he do this to her? Didn't he have a single ounce of feelings for her?
After crying for some time Aurin looked at the mirror and then wiped away her tears. She took a few long breaths and calmed herself down.
" You have to answer why you did all these?" Aurin whispered shaking with anger and marched outside the hospital.
On the other hand, Mikaeel was so disturbed mentally that he didn't go to the office today. He stayed in the house for some mental peace.
Mikaeel was relaxing sitting on an easy chair on the balcony when his phone started ringing. He looked at the phone screen and it was an unknown number.
Thinking it was an important call, Mikaeel received it but before he could even say hello, Maryam's voice literally made him deaf.
" What's your wife's problem, Mikaeel? Why can't she just get lost from my life?" Maryam shouted angrily.
Mikaeel was completely bewildered by her shoutings and before he could ask any questions, she yelled," Tell your wife to stay away from me if you don't want to face severe consequences."
Saying all these Maryam cut the call and Mikaeel was completely dumbfounded. This time he felt like Maryam has lost her mind completely. Mikaeel was still trying to understand Maryam's words when he heard someone's footsteps. He looked behind and noticed that it was Aurin.
Mikaeel scanned Aurin's face and noticing her red eyes, tear-stained cheeks and quivering lips, he realised that something is wrong with her. He frowned his brows slightly seeing her holding a piece of paper.
" Wifey, are you ok?" Mikaeel questioned but instead of answering Aurin threw the paper right across Mikaeel's face.
Holding the paper Mikaeel read the report and his whole body turned cold after reading it. The report fell from his hand and he looked at Aurin with blank eyes. His mind stopped working imagining Aurin's further reactions. But, somehow he was still not believing in this report though the report was true.
"You cheated on me!" She said sobbing bitterly and he was silently looking at her.
He asked very calmly," You believed her instead of believing me?"
" I have done a DNA test. That child is yours! Do you hear me, you cheater? You backstabbed me!" She shouted grabbing his collar and he kept standing like a robot.
Bursting into more tears she said," I never asked anything from you nor you ever tried to fulfil my wishes. Today, I am asking you to fulfil my one last wish. Can you do that?"
He raised his brow questioningly when she requested desperately," Divorce me, please."
Those words left Aurin's mouth and Mikaeel fell to his knees. Aurin looked downwards and found Mikaeel looking at her feet. It's the first time Mikaeel kneeled in front of someone surrending himself. For an egoistic and arrogant man like Mikaeel, it was difficult yet impossible to get on his knees but to save his marriage he will go to any length.
" I was raped by her, Wifey. I didn't sleep with her willingly," Mikaeel said with his trembling voice. Aurin stumbled back on her feet.
After that, Mikaeel told the whole incident to Aurin and after hearing everything Aurin couldn't continue standing and sat down on the nearby couch. Hearing everything Aurin couldn't even breathe for a few seconds.
" It wasn't my fault, wifey. She raped me and her daughter is the result of that sin," Mikaeel said while Aurin diverted her gaze at Mikaeel.
Taking a few breaths she yelled," I would have believed you if you told me the truth from the very first. 5 days ago when I confronted you regarding this matter you didn't tell me all these. You kept your mouth mum. Why? If you are innocent then why didn't you tell me the truth?"
" I was scared. I was scared that you will feel disgusted after knowing that I was raped. That's why I hid this truth from you. I wanted to tell you everything but I couldn't gather enough courage to tell you. Please, try to understand me," Mikaeel answered with his broken voice and it was the first time he is sounding so helpless.
Letting out a painful laughter Aurin responded," You think so low about me that I will feel disgusted by you if I come to know that you were raped!! Do you think my mentality is that low?"
Hearing her Mikaeel looked at her with hopeful eyes and asked," That means you believe me."
" I wish I could believe you. But, your continuous lying just destroyed everything, Mikaeel. Now, I can't believe even a single word told by you. I can't," Aurin replied shaking her head vigorously and crying while Mikaeel was still in his previous position.
Then, she walked toward the closet and started taking out her clothes. She was mumbling some words nonstop and crying bitterly.
" Everything is ruined, Mikaeel," Aurin screamed packing her clothes.
Mikaeel walked towards Aurin and then held her shoulders tightly. He looked at her with helpless eyes like any time he will start crying.
" Please, believe me," He requested.
Aurin removed his hands from her shoulder and replied with a painful voice," You didn't leave any chance for me to believe in you, Mikaeel. Lies after lies. You kept me on the dark side even after such serious things happened in your life. You lied to me about Maryam and there is no guarantee that you are not lying right now. I have lost my trust in you, Mikaeel. I can't believe you."
Aurin finished packing her staff and forwarded her legs to leave. Mikaeel tried a lot to convince her but she wasn't in the mood to hear anything. It's not needed to describe what both of them were going through.
" You will get the divorce paper very soon," Aurin declared and then left Mikaeel's house.
