CHAPTER TWENTY - SEVEN 27
FINN IS HEARTBROKEN
“I have a mindblowing surprise for you” I texted Zane that morning while I was on my way to the office.
After work today, I planned to visit the clothes supermarket and get some s*xy new lingeries.
I assumed tonight will be really naughty and dirty but full of spice in my own language
I smiled to myself as I walked happily into the office. As soon as Evelyn sighted me, she went her on knees.
“Rita, forgive me. Yesterday, I was outta my sense. I am deeply sorry” She apologised.
I rolled my eyes and stood at an akimbo angle: “You are being dramatic. Stand up already”
“I spoke ill of you and your boyfriend, I shouldn't have done that” She whimpered.
“Shh! It's enough. I am not offended” I tried to pull up her.
“No, you are seriously offended. I know you pretend you are not upset whereas you are” She persisted.
“Okay fine! I was angry yesterday. But just so you know, I am already used to the shitty things that comes out of your mouth. So get up already, I have forgiven you” I said. She stood up and jumped into my arms.
“C’mon” I disengaged from her and moved to our seats.
“You seemed so happy” She observed examining my face.
“It's good to be happy always!” I replied plainly, not giving her even a tiny hint about what I am up to.
I arranged my materials, getting ready for today’s business when Adam walked towards us.
“Hey Rita, you are around” He said; “Mr Finn sent for you”
“Oops!” Evelyn suddenly interjected; “ I think I know why he wanna see you” I looked at her suspiciously because she seemed funny.
“You didn't do or say something stupid right?” I asked her.
“Err… I don't know if it’s actually stupid” She answered; scratching her hair that wasn't itching.
“Ugh!” I shook my head disappointedly and left.
“Oops! Just when we have reconciled! Geez, she’ll be mad at me again” Evelyn seemed bothered.
“I'm tired of cleaning your mess Evelyn, what did you do this time?”
“I told Finn that Rita has a boyfriend. It's the truth, so there’s no reason for Rita to be mad right?”
“Oh Evelyn, you should not be the one to tell Finn. Rita would eventually tell him herself or he finds out himself”
“Oh My God! I don't know why I have been poking nosing and blabbing around these days” Evelyn slapped her both cheeks then buried her face into her palms.

“Good morning Finn” I freely walked into his office only to meet him, looking sad.
He stood up from his mesh chair and walked towards me before I got to where he was.
“Err.. Is anything wrong?” I was confused.
“You are in a relationship!” He said and I nodded slowly, honestly.
“Evelyn told me you have a boyfriend”
“I was gonna tell you sooner or later” I said.
“Why do you have a boyfriend?” He voiced.
What sort of a question was that?
“I love you so much, so what I am gonna do now?” He stared deeply into my eyes. His eyes were red, like he has been crying.
“I..I am sorry” I don't know why I apologized though.
“I loved you right at first sight. I should have met you sooner” He drew nearer, making me tip-top backward.
“Rita, is there a way I can come into your life?” He asked faintly.
“As a friend” I suggested innocently, feeling bad that I broke his heart. Yet, I can't break Zane’s heart to be with Finn, neither can I double date both. That's equally very injudicious of me; moreso, I have absolutely no feelings for Finn.
“As a friend” He repeated. “Can you give a friend space in your heart?” He proceeded.
“No” I blurted,, shaking my head continuously.
“Please Rita, I beg of you to give me a chance. I love you so much; you are the first person that will make me feel this way. You are the…” I interrupted him.
“I love my boyfriend so much too. So please, I am also begging you to erase every single feeling you have for me. I am sorry I broke your heart, the news didn't get to you the way I intended it to. And I am done with this conversation if you would excuse me” I bowed my head in respect and left his office.
