"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT YOU WON'T CANCEL THE ENGAEGMENT!"
Yun Lan's shout reverberated throughout the family meeting room through the manor, her body started to release cold as the temperature around the room started to deteriorate at an astonishing pace, Xiao just standing outside of the hall felt the cold but it didn't effect him much, with a shrug of his shoulders he knocked and entered the room where he came upon his fuming mother
Coming inside he could see that his mother was facing his grandfather and his father who stood at one side, while his mother stood at the other side, the cold released by my mother doesn't seemed to affect my grandfather a bit, while my father needed some effort to defend against it, as for Xiao, Well he's not a fire affinity cultivator for nothing...
Xiao's grandfather Yun Hao spoke, as he applied a small pressure on Yun Lan causing her knees to buckle at the pressure, while she may be strong she won't be able to do anything against Yun Hao, who has already cultivated for hundreds of years, Yun Lan gritted her teeth as she bore Yun Hao's pressure

"So you are saying that you won't take back the engagement?"
"So you want my son to marry a cripple?!"
Yun Lan exclaimed in anger towards Yun Hao, here they were talking about 'protecting' the family honor, while all they were doing was just making her son's life miserable, Yun Lan's anger was boiling inside of her, ready to burst out at any moment, it was then that I spoke
"Mother, it's enough"
Hearing Xiao's words Yun Lan was surprised as she quickly turned her head towards me, while the other two had sensed Xiao's presence, Yun Lan hadn't as she was too focused on the two in front of them, seeing me complex feelings filled Yun Lan's eyes, she opened her mouth to speak
"Little Xi, don't worry mother won't let you marry a cripple just because the family said so"
Yun Lan spoke to Xiao with a serious gaze, Xiao smiled at it as he walked towards his mother and gave her a smile, after which he turned towards his grandfather, completely ignoring his father, looking at Yun Hao, Xiao bowed
"Greeting family head"
"Do you also want to cancel the engagement?"
Yun Hao directly got to the topic without beating around the bush, hearing it Xiao raised his head as he looked at his grandfather as he calmly spoke
"No, the engagement was made by the Yun family and as such it is my responsibilty to bear it's weight, I will marry Li Lun and won't let the Yun family down"
Yun Lan was so surprised and angry that she had called out his name, rather than his nickname that she normally calls him with, seeing it Xiao turned to his mother as he nodded his head at her, seeing it Yun Lan wanted to say more but she held back
"It's good that you are more responsible"
Yun Hao nodded his head to which Xiao humbly replied
"Family head thinks too highly of me"
Not once did he say grandfather, nor did he acknowledge his fathers existence, with his final parting words, his small hands caught his mothers as he walked out of the room, leaving behind a calm Yun Hao and a fuming Yun Qinghong, Xiao walked silently towards his mothers room along with his mother
After a few seconds later they entered Yun Lan's room, just as they did Yun Lan directly hugged her son as she patted his back, her eyes were extremely cold as she spoke
"Don't worry little Xi, since they won't cancel it, we will just have to make sure that the engagement won't take place"
"What does mother have in mind?"
Xiao asked as he came out of his mothers hug, even thought he was confused, he still had an inkling of what she was going to do, hearing Xiao's question a cruel smile came upon on Yun Lan's face as she spoke
"What else, for an engagement to happen there needs to be a girl right, we just have to remove that Li Lun girl from the equation"
There was not a hint of guilt in Yun Lan's face as she spoke about taking the life of a 10 year old girls life, in the past she let the engagement go because Li Lun hadn't yet awakened and no one knew her talent but now that she's a cripple how could Yun Lan let her son marry someone useless?
From the beginning Yun Lan was a never a kind woman, as long as she could help her family, she wouldn't mind becoming the devil, Xiao could only shake his head at this, in fact this had happened even in the past life but each time Li Lun would 'mysteriously' survive

Yun Lan asked with narrowed eyes, to which Xiao calmly replied with his lies
"No, it's just that I don't want any unwanted bloodshed and I truly want to deal with this on my own"
After which Xiao explained his made up plans and lies, Yun Lan listened for a while before she finally sighed and agreed
"Sigh....fine but remember son, don't fall in love with her, I already got news from my hidden sources that Li Lun is a lost cause, in the future you and her would be of two different worlds"
Xiao smiled inwardly when he heard his mothers words, because like she said they both would be of two different worlds, only differnce being that Li Lun in the future would be above him
Xiao nodded his head with a serious face while keeping his thoughts to himself
Yun Lan finally agreed, after this Xiao spoke and played with his mother for some time, before he set forward to the Li family
'Sigh.....I guess it's time I go meet Li Lun...'
