Author's POV
"Please drive faster!"
Veronica panicked. She was trembling.
She knew that Zen didn't love her but she never thought that he would sell her for money.
On other hand she has no idea why Vladimir wants her. What's his motive and that man literally purchased her from her husband.
She is aware that her this stunt will put her in problem, it will risk Ryan's life as he is still under Zen's custody but she have to save herself before she saves him.
She is totally unaware of their intentions. She has no idea where she is going but she have to run before they catch her.
Her stomach churned when her phone rang and she saw Zen's name on the screen.
She looked behind and her eyes widened when she saw line of black cars behind them.
"Please hurry up..."
She almost cried.
Driver frowned at her.
"Who are you, woman?... What did you do?..."
He asked suspiciously.
"Jesus! Are they following you?... Did you steal something from them?"
"No! Just keep driving please... Otherwise they will kill me..."
She pleaded.
That made him hit the break.
"Kill you?"
His eyes widened.
"Get out of the car... I don't want to risk my life..."
"Listen, please... please..."
She cried.
"I am in danger.."
"Please get out of the car..."
He refused to drive.
She looked behind and cars were coming closer. She cursed and got out of the car. She looked around and found herself on deserted road which was surrounded by huge trees.
She lifted her dress up and ran towards the woods. It was dark and cold but she was scared for her life.
she tripped many times because of her heels but kept running. Adrenaline rushed in her body when she heard footsteps behind her along with torches.
"Veronica!"
Her blood ran cold when Vladimir called her in an angry voice.
She increased her speed, she was panting heavily, small branches slapped her skin while running.
She tripped on the small stone and her heels betrayed her. She couldn't run in broken heels so she took it off and started running with bare feet.
She hissed when small stones pricked her feet but that didn't stop her.
"Veronica!"
She heard his voice again and her heart skipped a beat.
"Ahh!"
She screamed when piece of broken glass bottle pierced in her foot.
She clasped her mouth in fear to muffle her scream. She noticed footsteps getting louder and limped behind the tree to hide.
She cried and sat on the ground, leaning against the huge trunk after looking at her injured foot.
She bit her lips to stop herself from screaming while pulling out the glass from her foot. It was bleeding heavily.
She looked around scared while trying to stop herself from bleeding. Her hands were coated in her own blood. She closed her eyes and let the tears escape.
"Veronica, come out..."
She heard him again.
"We'll talk it out..."
She gulped and scooted closer to the trunk to hide from him.
"There is no use of hiding..."
He said but she didn't trust him.
Vladimir saw her dress under the flash of torch and stopped his man. He gestured them to point torches towards the tree.
He walked towards her with slow footsteps. Veronica sensed it, she got up and was ready to run again.
She got up and started running but he was quick to pull her back by waist.
Fear rouse in her heart when he caught her, she started thrashing in his hold.
"No! Leave me... Please, leave me."
But it was hard to break his strong hold.
Vladimir was aware that she will try to escape so he was ready with his man. His men informed him when she took the cab.
"Stop it!"
He yelled making her flinch.
"Don't move"
He looked at her sternly.
Sob escaped from her mouth and she tried to pull away but he jerked her forward.
"I said don't move!"
He warned.
His eyes landed on her bloody hands making him frown. He checked her hand but couldn't find any wound. Then he looked at her feet and saw pool of blood around her feet.
"What the fuck?"
He cursed.
He threw her on his shoulder and she panicked.
"Leave me!..."
She thrashed and screamed.
"Help!"
"No one is here to help you and no one will"
He walked towards his car which was on the road. His four men was following him.
"Let me go!"
She screamed but his hold was too tight.
One of his man opened the door and he placed her inside the car. Veronica put on a good fight. She started throwing fist when Vladimir sat beside her.
"Stop it, Veronica"
He growled when Her long nails almost scratched his neck but she didn't listen.
Vladimir closed his eyes frustrated, she wasn't ready to listen anything. He cursed when she tried to open the door of running car.
He had no choice but to stop her. He released his tie and grabbed her hand. Despite of all her struggles he easily tied her hands behind her back.
Veronica was now helpless, could do nothing but cry on her vulnerability.
"Don't move"
He glared at her. She sobbed when he pushed her on the seat and lifted her legs up.
He placed her injured leg on his lap and inspected the wound, it was still bleeding which coated his pants too.
He looked at her and shook his head.
"Good! You won't be able to walk for days now... Made my work easy."
She whispered in pain when tied her wound with his handkerchief.
"What do you want?"
She cried.
"You!"
He replied while caressing her leg.
"You shouldn't be so reckless, Doc... I don't like when my things gets hurt..."
Veronica jerked her leg back with angry face.
"I am not yours..."
She sat up.
"We had sex, doesn't mean you have a claim on me... I am not a thing..."
He looked at her amused, she was shaking with fear. Her face was red because of all crying but she was still fierce. He liked the fire in her.
"You will get used to it..."
He smirked.
"What do you want from me?"
She asked frustrated.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Because I am fascinated by you..."
He looked at her with adoring eyes.
He still remembers the awful day when he almost got killed in the accident.
He was on verge of giving up on his life but then he saw Veronica.
He smiled when his mind drifted back to the flashback.
