Author's POV
"No!"
Veronica smashed the vase on the floor not letting anyone come near her. She was furious.
The girl looked at her friend.
"We have to call him."
Her friend nodded and walked out of the room.
She went to the Vladimir who was talking on the. She hesitated before calling him.
"Sir"
Vladimir glanced at her and disconnected his call.
"Yes?"
He turned towards her.
"She is not letting us touch her... We tried but she is too angry and she destroyed everything... She is not ready to listen."
She informed.
Vladimir nodded and walked towards the room.
He knew that she won't co-operate easily and he was ready for that.
He entered inside and saw everything on the floor. Pillows, broken vass, makeup everything was destroyed.
He looked at her, she was scared, her face wash red with all crying but still there was anger.
"Wait outside"
He ordered the girl and she walked out.
Veronica limped back after seeing him, she woke up in different room in the morning and realised that she is not in the Russia. He took her to his private island in one night. She was unconscious throughout the journey.
That was fine too, but she panicked when those girls came to get her ready.
"What's the problem, Vera?"
He asked calmly.
"I don't know if I should Be surprised by your calmness or if I should appreciate your confidence..."
She said angrily.
"You think I will obey you like a Dog... Sorry, Mr. Volkov but that's not me..."
"That's why I asked... What's the problem?"
He asked placing his hands in pocket.
She closed her eyes frustrated.
"The problem is you purchased me from my husband... You kidnapped me... You drugged me and brought me some unknown Island and now you send this fucking wedding dress and girls to get me ready..."
She yelled frustrated. She was imagining him to beat her, sell her to the brothel or rape but he was doing quite the opposite and that terrified her even more.
"You really think I will marry you... That you can control everything like this... What are you even thinking?.."
Marrying him means surrendering whole life to him. Her freedom will be snatched, she will be nothing but a puppet in his hands.
"Sit down... You are straining your leg"
He said not at all affected by her words.
"That's the last thing I care about right now"
She spat.
He sighed and pulled out papers from his jacket and threw it on the bed.
Veronica limped towards the bed and sat on it, she grabbed the papers to read.
"Divorce"
She mumbled. She saw Zen's sign on it.
She didn't feel bad, whatever he did after that she doesn't feel anything about him except hate.
"Sign it"
He placed the pen in front of her.
"So you can drag me to the aisle?.."
She glared at him.
"I haven't signed it yet... I am still married and you can't marry already married woman..."
She threw the papers back at him.
"I am not going to sign..."
"You are making it hard for yourself"
He said picking up the papers.
"What are you going to do? Kill me?"
She challenged.
He shook his head.
"I like you, Vera... I am not going to hurt you..."
"You are forcing me to marry you... Is this your definition of liking someone."
She asked wiping her tears.
"Because this is the last option... Do it otherwise I have to use other ways."
He sighed when she didn't answer.
"I have your brother..."
He declared and her eyes snapped towards him.
"Why?"
Her chin wobbled.
"First Zen and now you... You are no different than him... My brother is innocent... And you people are using him to force me..."
She sobbed.
"He will be safe with me until you do as I say..."
He sat beside her.
"I don't want to do this but you left me with no choice..."
Veronica was crying silently. Cursing her life.
He placed papers and pen in her lap. She picked up the pen and signed the papers.
"You will let them get you ready... I shouldn't hear any complaint."
He wiped her tears.
"Why me?"
She sobbed.
Vladimir caressed her cheek.
"Get ready, Vera..."
He said and walked out of the room.
Vera broke down when he left. She couldn't believe that she is again experiencing this. This time may be worse, she has no idea what will be her life with Mafia.
Girls came again and started preparing her for the wedding.
They helped her into dress and did her hair and makeup. It was mermaid dress with long tail. It was beautiful and in normal situation she would have been happy but this wasn't the situation in her favor. She was going to marry the man who is a criminal.
She is the woman who save lives and he is the man who ends lives. Both of them have hands coated in blood but reasons are completely opposite.
"You have beautiful long lashes... We don't even need to use artificial."
The girl said.
"Do you work for him too?"
Vera asked in groggy voice, her voice was heavy after all crying.
"Yes"
She answered.
"But sir is not that bad if you follow his orders..."
Vera smiled bitterly.
"Follow his orders!... Right!"
"You are looking perfect but what about shoes... Her leg is injured."
Another girl asked confused.
"I'll take care of that... Leave!"
They heard Vladimir. Girls left the room and he walked towards her.
Vera looked at him through mirror and her heart started hammering with his each step.
